I’ve been attending SABA center for several years and there are some fantastic aspects of the community:
1) There is an English, Urdu, Farsi and Arabic hall with programs in each respective language
2) Regular programming every Thursday night (Dua Kumayl), Friday afternoon (prayers), and often other days of the week.
3) Wonderful Ramadan and Muharam programming with duas, prayers, speeches and dinner every night.
4) There are easily about 200 – 500 people in attendance for programs, with double or triple those numbers for Laylat Al Qadr and Muharam
5) In recent years, the programming for children has been excellent and really keeps them engaged and enjoying coming
Overall, I’d highly recommend coming to SABA if you’re interested in a warm and diverse Muslim community with regular programming.

SABA has a lot to offer to a wide audience — whether you’re a devout Muslim, someone just curious about Islam, or any where in between.
It’s a very diverse community with people from all sorts of backgrounds. There are programs in the English language every Thursday night as well as a more informal discussion type forum most Saturday nights. Best thing to do is check out the website to find out what’s going on each week.

SABA is awesome! It’s more than just a Mosque, it’s a community center that serves as a support system for so many Muslims in the bay area. SABA is under the leadership of Maulana Nabi Raza Abidi, who is an amazing source of guidance for the community. His humility, tact, knowledge, and charisma is unbelievable!
SABA offers a variety of programs, both weekly and on special occassions. They have Thursday night programs, Jumaa prayers on Friday, youth programs on Saturdays, and Sunday School on Sunday. They also hold programs during the month of Ramadan and Muharram, as well as all the birth and death anniversaries of the Ahlul Bayt. In addition, there are several other services, such as matrimonial, funeral, counseling, etc. There are also annual camps, youth retreats, picnics, and more.
Recently, SABA also opened up a full-​time school, called SABA Academy.
SABA is a great place to go to learn, make new friends, and enjoy delicious food! The doors are open for everyone of any race, religion, gender, etc.

Located in a great quite area, SABA is a great place for the family. Kids have a great school and fun programs where they enjoy something besides TV!
A real diverse community of people, which SABA accommodates like a machine! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Im not saying this place is a utopia. just something close to that! haha
The man that keep this machine oiled and running is Dr. Ali Raza Nabi Abedi. This guy is quick on his feet and I have never seen him without a smile on his face. A truly wise and modest man, he makes sure the SABA experience is smooth and intellectually stimulating.
The book store, which you need to check out, has some real thought provoking books on many Islamic topics. The Library of books which one can check out has a range of books from Islamic topics to cook books.
There is no one night that you should go in particular, but check out there website and see what they have in store for that night! If you dont learn something new, you’re probably just sitting in the parking lot!!!
Look out for SABA’s family picnics and camping events that they hold several times a year! Its a great time with some very active people (waring: they do get competitive when it comes to Volley ball LOL).

I have called Saba home ever since I was a child. I love the caring and loving families that go here and have fond memories of attending Sunday school. My teacher was the fun and energetic Mr. Mahani. He taught me a lot about history of Islam and how to be loving and patient towards humankind. Over the years I have had many caring/​loving Sunday school teachers and looked forward to seeing my friend on Sunday. I also love how during religious events such as speeches in muhurram they have programs for people of different language such as a room for those who understand Farsi, another for Urdu, Arabic and then a youth program in English for kids ages 8 – 22. I would recommend anyone to go here if they want to know what Islam truly is: peaceful/​loving and full of heart. I will also never forget when our dear Mexican sister came to Saba center frequently and read books on Islam on the side and one day converted. Mashallah!
