Services For Brain Injury

This organization provides vital services– now more than ever considering how many are returning from wars with head injuries from explosions and such. The VA can’t provide what they need to recover to the best possible state. They have many highly dedicated volunteers who are some of the nicest folks you ever met. Dedicated and tireless. My organization, Willow Glen Lions, donates funds to them and we often reciprocate helpers for fundraising events. A truly great organization!

I brought my husband to SBI at the point that insurance stopped paying to rehabilitate him from a severe brain injury and stroke. I discovered there is no where else in the Bay Area to get the kind of rehab that SBI offers. They provided my husband with programs for personal and social readjustment — he was anti-​social and difficult to interact with. Once he got past that, he went through SBI’s vocational training. SBI also places their clients in jobs and provides coaches so clients stay employed. What a huge relief that there was someplace to take my husband for this kind of help. It wasn’t a perfect recovery path for him but he is happy now and has a part-​time job and is fully independent. I never would have thought that was possible and neither did his doctors. The staff at SBI is dedicated and very skilled. It is a unique facility that provides the most critical rehab which gets people get back to living their lives. I was impressed and very grateful.

I came here for a roundtable for veterans issues. This building was nice, the room we were in was perfect for the meeting. The bathrooms were clean and the people at the front desk were very nice.
The services that the SBI offers is amazing, many of our wounded and mentally disabled veterans suffering from PTSD and other issues can come here and learn how to be a functioning person in suciety.
This building is also located near light rail and is easily accessible.
