I had wrongly thought that the BBB accrediation means something but my experience with the complaint process has taught me better. Apparently, the business pays to have a BBB listing. When I filed a complaint against the business, all the BBB does is relay the message. When the business doesn’t respond, BBB doesn’t act on it. I had to contact the BBB for them to follow it up. Now I know better then to look for companies with BBB accreditation. See also reviews from

They«administratively closed» a complaint I made within 60 seconds of me posting my reply. Apparently, they feel like 60 seconds was enough time for them to read this somewhat complex case and make an administrative decision.

I flied a complaint through them on 11/20/2014. They sent me an email after 2,3hours and informed me that«case closed– info only» without any resolutions. I replied back with additional information, one day later(11÷21÷14), they closed the case again without even informing me. Today I went to my case summary and realized the case was closed back on last Friday already. No information, no notifications, no resolutions. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. I used BBB before and was able to obtain a good answer via them from the company which I filed a complaint to, but this San Jose office itself is the one who needs more trainings. They are not helpful at all.

The San Jose BBB responded to my complaint, allowed the merchant to respond and offered dispute resolution services for free. They suspended the merchants accreditation and put an alert on the BBB website to warn clients of the merchants unlicensed contracting activities. I am satisfied with the San Jose BBB and all my interactions have been prompt and professional. Above all, they are alerting consumers, which is what we ultimately want when we check on a merchants BBB status.
