This is one of the Best Safeway locations. I like it cause it’s clean, organized well, open 24hours but I love it cause the STAFF !! It’s rare to go to a grocery store and have almost every team meme we you interact with give you great service as a minimum and excellent to superb as maximum! I wish I would have started Unilocal years ago cause this is way over due. I’ve been shopping at this location for just over 2 years now and they been consistent since then. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is this chick I used to see Denise doesn’t seam to work there anymore … She knew EVERYONE !! Being in her line was cool even if it was a long one cause she spoke to everyone waiting and took your mind of of the long wait. Special thanks to John Whitney Jose And ummm I hate I can’t remember her name right now but she works the self check often and in the fall she wars cute scarves she has dark hair and I believe is latina. Anywho these folks are always cool and kind! Thanks you !!

Worst customer service ever. I tried getting help from a worker and was told they couldn’t help me because their shift ended. So why are you still standing in that department if you aren’t going to help people?

I have given this location so many chances regarding customer services and what’s in stock. First of all there is allot of employees socializing some ok, some in appropriate. Also, getting help sometimes is received with a blank stare,(sorry I won’t bother you anymore). Then there’s inventory where they run out of items in the produce department. Overall I think customer service is my biggest problem there. Not friendly, hard to get help sometimes. I do get some outstanding service from the butchers in the meat department and bakery, the lady there is nice. I just wished I can go to my neighborhood Safeway and shop and if not feel uncomfortable if I ask or need help. Now, I guess about 2 years ago it was a great place to shop then I noticed employee changes. Now I like going to the Safeway across town. Parking is Crap bur the service and the whole store is so much better.

Be careful here. Twice it happen to me here that when a price is listed for two items and you purchase just one of the items you are charged more than half the price. It took 20 minutes to get this straightened out.

I love this Safeway. It reminds me of the one over by my old house in Dublin which I loved! I never have a problem finding things, getting what I went for etc etc. All around good Safeway. My 3 star review is for the«head cashier». She’s rude and doesn’t give a crap if you’re there. She will talk to other cashiers, not greet you, just doesn’t care about customer service ATALL! I try avoiding her because she makes you feel so crappy about«disturbing» her conversation with others but when going through the self check out line and needing the monopoly tickets its a little hard. Too bad cause I really do love this Safeway she’s just very unpleasant.

Deaf Discrimination. They don’t like deaf people at all. Awful place. They don’t know how to communicate with deaf people. What a big disappointing! No good store to shop.

I tend to come by at this location during the evening. I do wish they would keep their self checkout stations opened during the late night. Often times there are people with loaded carts, and most people during the late night hours we only have a few things to purchase.

The staff members here are neither friendly nor helpful(except for the ladies who make the sushi — they’re great). During their busy times, such as when people are coming home from work and buying dinner fixings, they definitely need more staff members on register. The lines become ridiculously long and it takes me 40 minutes just to buy a damn can of energy drink. I’ll still give them props on the great deals they have.

I purchased some pork ribs from this location in the morning at around midnight, brought it home, and put in the fridge. When I came home from work today at 6pm I opened one package and it smelled horrible! It had an expired date on it! I checked the other package and it didn’t expire until 3 days from today, so I opened it. OMG! That one smelled worse then the one with the expired date on it! That is not even the reason why I gave them a one star rating! Everyone is human and things get over looked, I understand that. Luis, the cashier that was returning the spoiled meat, didn’t want to refund my money. The receipt machine was messing up and printed out a half receipt, so you couldn’t see that I paid cash for my items, but it did have the prices of the meat on there. He told me he can’t give me cash back because he can’t tell how I paid for it. He said it would be store credit only. Well Safeway, how else do people pay for things? I didn’t pay with candy! Why give your customers a hard time when it wasn’t me that overlooked expired items in your store and it wasn’t my job to fix your receipt machine!

Great Safeway– friendly staff all around. I would love for them to stock some more of their cheeses and dips– that way I do not have to run to the newer/bigger location on Cottle Rd. I always enjoy coming to this location for their Japanese sushi selections– which seem to always run out quickly by the way. I tend to utilize their«Self-Checkout» process as they never seem to have enough cashier’s open when I visit. The only downside is the consistent issue when the Self-Checkout machine erroneously announces TOTHEWORLD(omg) that there are«unexcited items in the bagging area.» Yikes! This can be embarrassing– and then I look around hoping for a Safeway attendant/employee to rescue me. Other than that, always great experience. Jamba Juice, Starbucks — yayee! (Please read my most recent review on the Jamba Juice location for more details)

This review is because I have received multiple rudeness every time I come in to the store. Okay fine. Given that I have WIC checks but I go on hours that are not too busy and registers that does not have a lot of people In line. I have made mistakes picking the right items listed on the check but YOU don’t have to tell me multiple times that it’s not correct and like it’s a burden for you as a cashier to ring me up. And even if I made a mistake, SUSIE, I can pay for it… You don’t have to ask me if the Gerber puffs that my daughter is eating needs to be ring up too(i intentionally opened it before she rang me up to show that it was almost empty. In short. It’s mine. Already paid for!) I am not gonna scam the store for a $ 1.29 Gerber puffs! So cashier SUSIE. You need to chill! If you see her in a cash register. Go to the next one or she will think you’re stealing something! 5 star to the manager Kirk. I always see him around with a cheerful smile and always ready to help!

This review is not for this Safeway Store in general. It’s for the young man who was working in the meat department in the evening on March 18th. At 7:40PM I asked him if he could grind some chicken thighs for me. The sign above his head said ‘Custom cuts from 8AM to 8PM.” However, despite the sign, which I pointed out to him, he told me that it was«too late» and that he had already clean the machine. When I said«well, why does the sigh say from 8AM to 8PM then, if you close earlier?» he just shrugged and offered no further help to me. I normally enjoy shopping at this location, but this guy was just a jerk with zero commitment to customer service. Also, I have noticed a reduction in checkers at this store recently, and if this is being done on purpose, it’s NOT working. The result is 6+ people in line for the two open checkers, making the shopping experience rather frustrating as my ice cream melts as I wait, and wait and wait to pay. The checkers that are working are very pleasant, despite being obviously overwhelmed by the number of customers.

Went here on a mission to get the stuff we need and get out. The place is big, spacious and standardized that I knew where to go for the stuff I need since I have been to the other branch in Milpitas. I needed a bunch of stuff for my Mediterranean course and was able to grab all of it here. Sadly their fish department was sub-par and we got a couple of dover fillets in our cart. Seafood selection was not fresh and limited so their prices are unreasonable(for me). Other than that everything else was good. This Safeway also has its own jelly belly dispenser with alot of choices to select on. I just found out that there is a sugar free jelly belly in your favorite flavor! Wooo hoo! Oh and the lady told me that since jelly belly isnt the same as the jelly beans with the gummy consistency, it wont stick in retainers or braces when you eat it(kiddo has braces). SCORE!. The things you learn in grocery stores are very informative! Anyhoo, I didnt get to buy some sushi but they look yummy too! It’ll prolly be something I would buy when I come back. 3 stars for now.

I live very close to this Safeway location and I have for years now. I usually come here late at night to buy snacks for the week and it’s so convenient because it’s open 24⁄7. Their late-night staff is very short, but even though they’re very friendly and helpful. They even chit-chat with you! It’s usually hectic during the day especially around the holidays, but customer service is still on point. I enjoy their deli food at this location compared to others more due to their freshness and variety. I usually try and find Safeway’s «seafood Louie» salad but only certain days they don’t carry it, but it’s okay because it gives me the opportunity to try the other. This location also has a Starbucks and Jamba Juice inside!

This gets a 4⁄5 stars in my Safeway book. I’ve been to a lot of Safeway but this is by far my favorite. It’s conveniently located in this plaza with plenty of roomy parkings. I love it here. The staffs are super nice and I especially love how they always offer to help you load your groceries in the car! You can find everything in Safeway. From fresh kale to organic produces to quality cheese! And if you’re feeling hungry check out their café. They offer sushi, sandwiches and other entrees plates! There’s a Jamba Juice and Starbucks inside as well! Also a bank but I haven’t used it yet. Ohhhh! And red box is right by the door! Be careful on Sundays about 5−7pm it’s prime time for grocery shopping so the lines will get really long. But you can always op out of it by using the self check out! Way better than waiting in line and very easy to use!

This is the best Safeway that I’ve been to in San Jose. I am so glad it’s close by too. They remodel and seem to update their interior often. Produce, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Bakery, Deli are all great and fresh quality here. Some people say they know Safeway is known for pricey items, but unless you shop smart, you can definitely can find steals and deals… especially with extra Just For U personalized deals or coupon center discounts plus manufacturer’s coupons. Lately, I can get 2% Lucerne gallon milk for $ 2.99 with Safeway’s Just For U discount on my card, but I also have a 35 cents off coupon, So I got the 2% Lucerne gallon milk for $ 2.64. Many people seemed to like my check-in and tip for this advice a few days ago ^_^ Glad to help. The Safeway Just For U program definitely tracks what you usually buy and gives you incentive to come back. My favorite bakery item is the Fruit Tart(the big one). Fruit is fresh. Custard is yummy. The crust is sooo good, even lined with chocolate. You can pre-order any special cakes or tarts that you need for special occasions at the Bakery department and also ask them to personalized them with special words as well. Meat is good here like Rancher’s Reserve cuts. There are also other stores within this Safeway which are US Bank, Jamba Juice, and Starbucks. Quick fact: I used to be a barista at that Starbucks about 7 years ago. You are Not allowed to give tips to the baristas here because this Starbucks is within Safeway, which is against store or corporate policy. They coldheartedly fire people 1 day before they can officially join the union. Pretty much every body, including myself, who was hired for Safeway’s Re-Grand Opening long ago was fired. As in used and disposed. My dad likes DiGiorno pizza. Because this Safeway is open 24 hours, he can get his midnight hunger fulfilled. We also like the bread here. The quality is wonderful. Great rise and texture. We mainly purchase the french and sourdough bread. Garlic bread is good too. I liked the éclair here too. I had a funny incident at SJSU years ago when a night class professor got distracted with me eating 2 eclairs. I didn’t want to be starving for evening class, so I decided to try these yummy looking eclairs one day and bring to school. My professor lectures through class very animatedly. Then, when he saw me bite into one, he asked me jokingly, «Is that an éclair?» «Yes,» I said. Then, he said, «Is it good?» I was like, «It’s okay.» haha. I haven’t got any more ever since… just remember they were good and very sweet. Yummy custard inside and sweet chocolate frosting on top.
