Roto-Rooter Drain & Sewer Cleaning Service

These guys pick up the phone on a long weekend & sent someone out within 2 hours to roto-​root our clogged sewer line. The only downside of this vendor is they are way more expensive than others. If I have an emergency and cant find anyone else I will use them. If I’m trying to save money I’d use someone else the next day.

service was good, but here’s a tip: make sure they clean up the water mess afterward! I spent $ 209 and then was told that they don’t carry wet-​vacs anymore. I think there was a change in ownership because I have used them twice before this and the work was fully complete. Very disappointed I was left with a dirty puddle.

First of all, I would like to thank the plumbers who work for the Rotter Rooter company (Tim and Steve) They were able to resolve what I consider one of the most difficult Clogs I have personally experienced in my life. They were professional and reassuring with the of type of equipment they used in order to clear my kitchen sink. I must give some extra credit to Steve who was on the dot. He was very knowledgable in his profession and work ethic. I am grateful for people who know what they are doing. Rating: For sure 5 stars!

Can’t fault the work and everything about the service delivery, but the rate for snaking out a blocked kitchen drain translated into 5x what I have paid other highly qualified contractors on an hourly basis. Juicing the first bill is not a great recipe to get repeat customers; I’ll be looking for someone else next time.

Bad service, only one person go to ur house and charge $ 325 /​hour second hour $ 225/​hour and the wnd will give you estimated for $ 2500, if you aren’t agree the guy will say that done without guarantee, wtf

I gave San Jose Roto-​Rooter 5 stars because they arrived promptly, took a genuine interest in solving the problem (a chronically clogged kitcnen sink) and explained why it was chronically clogged. Afer fixing the sink I then asked if it were possible to get a video of the troublesome pipe at the suggestion of my contractor. A tech cameraman was immediately located and my request was completed before dinner. Impressive.
Not cheap but very reasonable for a job well done.

A few months ago my plumbing backed up. I called Roto-​Rooter because they are the only one who actually answered the phone on a Sunday at 5pm.
Now, they weren’t cheap. I mean it was pretty late and needless to say it is a «crappy job» so I understand why it’s not an inexpensive thing to have done. The guy had a hard time finding my house like everyone else does but got here eventually. He had to do a bunch of things because the plumbing at my house isn’t exactly done properly (part of the reason it wasn’t so cheap… get a good plumber to plumb your house save boat loads of money down the line). He got it cleared up and even offered to do a few extras because my hour wasn’t over. He cleaned up everything after he was done and cleaned it well! Turned out I had roots in my pipes, he pointed it out and everything.
OK well, that’s what you should expect. A pretty decent job considering the cost. As it turns out, the roots were ONE of the problems. Two months later my system backs up again. They said they have a 90 day warranty so I call them back. Guy comes out and again is very courteous and professional but informs me that I have a different problem so the warranty doesn’t cover it. Well, it was my septic system (I live in the country). At this point I don’t really care, I just want to be able to use my toilet so I pay the guy. Next day I call and explain that had the first employee checked the septic system I could have had it pumped and it wouldn’t have been a problem so therefore I believe that the work should have been covered by the warranty.
They didn’t disagree but didn’t agree either, they told me that a manager would call me back. They didn’t call back until several weeks later and I wasn’t even home for the call. My check had already cleared so I figured it was a done deal. Oddly enough though they honored their warranty. In my experience this NEVER happens so that’s why they get 4 stars from me. It wasn’t the best experience but I don’t imagine these guys see many septic systems. Hopefully I don’t need to call a plumber again soon but the next time I need one these guys will be my first call.

I had a property that the toilets were backing up and called to schedule an appt. next day. The Tech Jason showed up on time and was professional. He resolved my issue in less than two hours. I AM A SATISFIED CUSTOMER! Thanks for getting the job done right!

I called for help with my main line and asked for a ball park figure on pricing. Was told by the rep on the phone they could give no estimates or ball park figures unless someone came out. I explained I wouldn’t want to waste anyones time to have someone come out and not be able to afford the job so a ball park for what I needed done would be helpful she said sharply «I’m sorry I don’t have any pricing». Maybe it’s their script and she took it to heart. Not helpful in an emergency of course I didn’t use them.

Drain blocked up so I call Mr Rooter,
neighbor recommended. Big mistake. Three trucks arrive and various personnel begin conferring. After they give me estimates ranging from $ 3000 – 7500 I say goodbye.
I call Roto Rooter, Steve arrives shortly and snakes out the drain. Problem solved, all for the hourly minimum of $ 189.75. That’s a bit less than three grand, and he didn’t try to con me into having any extra work done.
Roto Rooter solved my problem and didn’t try to work me. I appreciate that.

what’s the difference really, parking on the fire lane or blocking pedestrians? common sense is not common.

I called them to unclog my sewer line, as my pipes were backing up into the showers. Joseph and David came out quickly and did the job quickly with not problems. Joseph even gave me some advice on finding my hard to locate clean-​out. They had to access my line from a roof vent, so cost was a little higher. But, Joseph and David were experienced; I got the feeling they could handle whatever plumbing issue I might have. It’s great to get guys like them when you call a franchise, and not some rookie right out of training.

Good experience. Our office main line was backed-​up. Arrived 20 minutes after our call. Quick, efficient, and cleaned-​up afterwards.

My water main pipe bursted. I called Roto-​Rooter for a quote. The Roto-​Rooter crew surveyed the site and even counted the number of fitting required when he worked on a quote to replace the water main pipe. He told me he did not have a work order form with him but he gave me a written not-​to-​exceed quote on a sheet of paper. He told me that he would bring a printed work order form from his office for me to sign before he started work the next day. His quote is in-​line with my other quotes so I gave the job to him because the repair work would be backed up a large company.
This is an one full day job so I expected his crew to show up early the next morning to start work. When he and his team finally showed up the next day around noon time to start work, he wanted the job to be done straightly on time and material with no ceiling. It was obvious that he took advantage of the fact that I desperately needed the water back. Luckily, I had a second estimate with another plumber so I fired him at the spot. I will never use Roto-​Rooter and I will make sure that all my friends and family know about this incident.

Wow. Their customer service and attitude is SHOCKINGLY BAD. I called for emergency help on a Saturday afternoon. They promised to help me several times, but no one ever showed up at my house. When I called to find out what happened, they were incredibly rude, took no responsibility, and did nothing to make it right.
On a Saturday, my house sprung a serious leak. I called the national Roto-​Rooter at about 2pm, and after some mis-​steps by their national call center, I was finally put in touch with this local franchise at about 5pm.
The person I spoke with asked about the specifics of my problem, clarifying that it was a leak. She said someone would be calling me back within 30 minutes, and that I should be able to get someone out here that night.
50 minutes later at 6:30, no one had called me, so I called back. I was assured that the plumber currently on a job, that my job was next in line and he would call me back very soon and should be able to fix it that night. OK.
By 7:30pm, I had still not heard. So I called back AGAIN. At that time, the same woman told me that sorry, no plumber would be coming out that night, but that they would take care of me first thing on Sunday morning at 9am.
GRRRR. I was stuck at this point and had to accept it. Very frustrating. Remember, I had been trying to get Roto Rooter to fix this since 2pm. I asked why no one had called me when they first realized, why was I always having to call them? She apologized.
At 8:15pm, I received a voice mail from the same woman, telling me that someone would be out to fix my leak at 9am the next morning.
OK, next day. No one shows up at 9am. At 9:15am I call and ask where the plumber is. A different woman named Barbara answers. She is a nasty person who interrupts and yells and should not be in a position that deals with the public. She tells me that no one is scheduled to come to my house that day at 9am!!!
But I had been told TWICE yesterday that someone would come out, and I had a voice mail recording of it too!
She tells me that it wasn’t her problem, that apparently I had been dealing with an answering service the previous day (unbeknownst to me!) and that the answering service doesn’t do scheduling or anything.
I tried to explain to her my frustrating experience — about all the times I was promised someone would show up and fix my leak, how I had to keep calling back to find out what was going on. She kept interrupting and talking over me, saying it wasn’t THEM that made these promises, it was the answering service. She offered no apologies and made no effort to help me out with my pipe that had been leaking 19 hours.
I then spoke to the manager who was equally rude and obnoxious — once again, not letting me complete a sentence before interrupting me and talking/​yelling over me the entire time. Like the other woman, he blamed it all on the answering service, did not take any responsibility, and made no apologies. According to him, I should have known I was dealing with an Answering Service (even though that was never made clear to me), and thus somehow KNOWN that everything they were promising was complete bull!
Listen, RotoRooter Franchise! It is YOUR responsibility to either man those phones yourself or hire a suitable answering service.
If you hired a crappy answering service (who had far more polite people than your usual staffers, BTW), then THAT’S YOUR PROBLEM, NOT YOUR CUSTOMERS.
You should do RIGHT by your customers and keep the promises that were made to them — regardless of whether by your own staff or by the people you hired to REPRESENT your firm after hours.
Meanwhile, after 18 hours, I still have freakin’ leak to deal with.

I just bought a home that was built in 1967. The house is in great shape, very recently renovated and shows really well. However, it is a 46 year old house and things are going to not work. When i took possession, a few things were not working great with the plumbing.
I had a spigot on the exterior of the house that was leaking and was getting worse by the hour. After being in the house for 24 hours, there was a large puddle forming in the front walkway from the spigot. I had a new fridge installed with the ice maker and water dispenser, but when I connected the line up to the fridge, no water was getting through. Lastly, the sink in the master bathroom was draining slowly.
David showed up on time to the appointment that I made and quickly asked for a description of what was wrong. He tested the drain in the master bath and it was draining fine, so we moved on (incidentally, a few hours after he left it was draining slowly again.) Then we did some testing of the water line going to the fridge. He quickly determined that the line going across the kitchen to the fridge is probably kinked, or is clogged. Unfortunately, he would need about 2 hours to run a new line, so we booked an appointment for the next week where he would have the necessary parts and tools for the job. To fix the spigot, he went to the parts center and after about 15 minutes, the shiny new fixture was installed and the leak stopped.
Crisis averted! I have used them before and will use them again. Great work!

They were out within a few hours, very reasonable. Good knowledgeable friendly plumber cleared our main sewre drain quickly. Thanks for the help!

Please save yourself trouble and do not hire this plumber. The lady asked me for my credit card no even before the plumbers showed up. I was quoted $ 88/​hr and told that the plumber will tell you how long it takes. The plumber mumbled some rate and the work was done in 20 – 25 mins. Later I was told to pay $ 176 as two people did the job. When I called the office, I was immediately threatened that we will put a lien on your house and take your house away if you do not pay the whole amount. The plumbers seem to know the script well and tried to sign me up on a bill which said I committed to $ 176 but paid only $ 88. He left away saying see you in court, we have taken houses for lot less money than this. What kind of business do this people run? Plumbing or defrauding people?

We had a stuck toilet. Tried everything. Plunger, snake, soap detergent with hot water. She wasn’t given in. They came on time. Spend maybe 15 minutes with their industrial strength snake and it finally cleared up. We didn’t do anything abnormal. We were relieved that it wasn’t anything serious. We however were shocked by the price. $ 134.40 for 15 minutes. The technician says it a minimum of an hour charged. I am in the wrong business. So all well that ends well. But the price was a little bite of a shock.
