You already know that Quality Tune-​Up is great at oil changes, tune-​ups, and smog checks. What you may not know is that our ASE certified technicians also perform complete car care including brakes, suspension, radiator/​cooling systems, diagnostics, engine performance repairs (including check engine lights), electrical and starting repairs, air conditioning service and repair, and much, much more. We do everything but tires and alignments!

If you have a problem, one of our technicians will be able to fix it for you. In fact, several of our service technicians are ASE Certified, nationally recognized experts in their field.

Manager

Mike has been working at and managing this Quality Tune-​Up location for the past 18 years. Most likely, if you have ever swung by the store before, you have seen Mike. Mike is an ASE certified smog technician and can answer all of your smog and general automotive questions. Ask anyone in the neighborhood and they will tell you that Mike is one of the friendliest technicians around.

I’m an extreme procrastinator so I was really happy to find out this place was open on a Sunday. I called in 2 hours prior to dropping by and spoke to Joanne who was really nice, helpful, and agreed to squeeze me in for a smog check certification. Everything was quick and easy– 25min later I was set and ready to go. Great Service!

Called and TJ picked up the phone indicating it will take 30 mins. When I arrived, I checked in, gave my keys, told him I needed to be out in 30 mins, and I was sure out 25 Mins!

Wow, what great service! We needed a smog check quickly to sell a vehicle, and Quality was open on a Sunday.
The receptionist was friendly, the place was clean, and the smog check was done much more quickly than we were told. Under promise, over deliver! Very good service and I’d highly recommend them.

Have never used their services and never will because they violated my privacy and placed flyers on my car in a secured garage that you need a remote to access. Their lack of respect for the law and my privacy and security is alarming and I will never go there or recommend them.

I only wish their were more STARS for ratings ! The experience with this shop was highly professional. Mike and his crew were friendly and helpful. Most importantly, my Chevy Truck was repaired in a timely manner, excellent prices and the waiting area had access to a snack shop/​*CLEAN RESTROOMS * I’m going to be bringing family and friends to this great establishment.

I brought my car for an oil change at 830am, the lady at the front receptionist seems to not know what she is doing and told me my oil change will take about an hour… I went across the street to get breakfast and read… I came back about 10:05am and they just took my car in for an oil change!!! My car was ready at 10:35am. So after 2hours waiting, they tell me that I need an air filter for an additional $ 19.95…I came here before and they were quick and efficient… but I would not recommend the place because u will have to wait for a looonnnnnng time! If u plan to get your car fixed beyond an oil change, BE PREPARED TO WAIT FOR A LONG TIME OR LEAVING YOUR CAR HERE FOR MOST OF THE DAY!

I recently got a oil change for my car. It was quick and priced correctly. If you want 30 minute oil changes, if you don’t have time and need a quick place to get this done, these guys are the guys to go with. Thanks for the good work.

Nice clean lobby, quick service, great price on synthetic oil and 30 minute oil changes. I also like the fact they don’t haggle you, don’t want a service done that’s fine. Since my apartment complex won’t let me change my oil, like Arnold «I’ll be back».

After reading some reviews about high wait time I called Quality Tune-​Up and asked how long it would take to get my car smogged if I went in within 10 minutes of calling. They said 20 minutes and gave me the exact dollar amount. The smog test took exactly 20 minutes and was the quoted amount plus the price of a necessary part for my car to pass the test the second time. Mike was very friendly.
Edit: I went in today (a Monday) at 2pm.

I had scheduled an appointment online for my regular smog test and oil change. When I went in during my scheduled time, I was informed the online appointment maker doesn’t do anything, doesn’t go anywhere, and that they’d been «meaning to take it down.»
Then they wouldn’t accept my coupons for the store. It’s kind of the reason I went there and not some other business. I had coupons for this store and I was told they didn’t honor the offers on the coupons.
Lastly, I was informed they were pretty backed up that day and the owner estimated it would be at least 3 hours until my car was finished, but they’d call as soon as it was ready. I had a free Saturday, so I wasn’t in any sort of time crunch. Gave him my contact info, keys, and got into my other ride to run some errands. I came back over 4 hours later, after receiving no phone call and found my car had been finished 3 or 4 cars ago.
I’ve brought cars here before and never had a problem like this. It wasn’t that the actual car service was poor, but the customer service was garbage. Both times I was there that day I was treated like I was an inconvenience. I’m sorry I brought my business to you guys.

After taking my car in for in oil change I was told my Chevys manual transmission was leaking by quality and I took it to a specialist no leaks anywhere and none on my garage floor in over a year Had it rechecked no issues My car has 59k miles.
It’s noted on my receipt transmission leak.

Apparently most smog check places do not open on Sundays so I was very happy to find Quality Tune-​up was open! The lady working there was really helpful and gave an estimate of 2 hours. They finished in about 1.5 hours with no issues. They have a small clean waiting area or you could wander the nearby shops in the area while you wait.

Damn forgot to post this. had it as draft for a year
My father decided to come here for an oil change, and during that change the mechanic recommended that he change the air filter. So my father agreed.
When my father came home, he realized that the engine sounded a little funky. And my father thought Hey. the air filter was replace, but maybe they didn’t put one in. And he was right – removed the compartment and found there was no filter.
How the heck do you forget not to put the filter in. Went back and told them. They offered a refund immediately. They also offered to install it again. but we said no thanks, we’ll do it ourselves.
I would normally give 1 star but i think it was a honest mistake – front desk guy was nice and apologized saying they were busy and the mechanic probably forgot. 2.5 stars. This was probably my father’s last visit.

Gave me extra re-​tests due to technicality. Overall quick to get the job done. Wait times depend on how busy they are, so have some sense and go at a good time (5−6pm weekdays).
Cheaper smog test than other locations (40 $) with free re-​tests. They don’t try to nickle and dime you.
