Our service was established over 20 years ago in Santa Clara County. We are the «Affordable Non-​Attorney Solution» in which we have worked as Legal Document Assistants assisting individuals with the preparation and processing of their legal documents in family law related matters. Over these years we have also worked as paralegals supporting several law offices with the preparation of their legal documentation. Our goal has always been to provide a superior service to each of our clients at an affordable cost. We value and appreciate the trust and confidence our client’s have instilled in our service and in allowing us the opportunity to assist them with their legal matters. By focusing primarily in family law, we have a distinct understanding and compassion of our client’s needs. I established Priority One Legal Document Services over 20 years ago after running two other legal document services in Santa Clara County. I wanted to create a unique and superior service that was affordable and would allow people the opportunity to have professional assistance with the preparation and processing of their legal documents without having the high costs involved when hiring an attorney. I wanted to build a service that focused primary in family law so that we could provide the best and most efficient service possible. Our goal is not only to do a great job for everyone, but never loose heart for helping others and to be sensitive to everyone’s individual situation and needs.

I would 100% recommend Priority One. All of the women in the office were so helpful. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed right away and taken care of in a timely matter. Not only are they flexible and willing to work with you but my case was taken care of during the holidays and each person I worked with made me feel like a priority. Excellent customer service! Priority One Legal was great to work with. They are very informative and patient. Tricia helped me with a divorce case and made it as simple as possible. These cases can be long and very stressful and I was thankful to have them by my side to help me through it. They are very upfront with everything so there were no surprises in the end. Also, they are very responsive! I would send them an email with a question and would hear back from them almost instantly! I would definately recommend them 100%!

I saw their business thru here in Unilocal and read the reviews and thought hmmm this might be a good place to start my divorce process. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. I came in there and this was last February 2015 and have spoken with Trisha. Since this is my first time filing a divorce and no idea how to deal with this kind of situation, Trisha told me how the process works so I thought hmmm ok i’ll go for it. I paid $ 1400+ for the beginning process and with all I ended paying $ 2500+ with just processing paper works and nothing happened. The thing that disappointed me too was they told me that they can’t give any legal advice but only processing paper works. I did understand that but at least guide me and explain to me how the process works. WTH, if I knew this would have happened to me and spending so much money that I have saved for many months, I would’ve just went and search for affordable legal preparer for my case. They even recommended me with this very expensive lawyer which by the way I only went for her for first visit that I paid $ 100 for it. There goes my money went down the drain too… Luckily, I got a mail from a different legal preparer and she gladly helped me out with the process and I’m now have a court order set for next month and this new Preparer have explained to me thoroughly and she gave me options if I can’t afford to pay, i’ll pay the rest of it next time and that’s how it should be… These Priority One Legal services don’t care if how much your income was, they don’t care about helping you out what you can afford or not or at least recommend me to someone who charge less than theirs… And I even told Tricia that If this is just going to be it, I might as well dump the case and don’t go for it and guess what, Tricia even agreed with my answer. WTF, after they got all my money, they didn’t even bother helping me out. Just like I said, This is my first time filing this case and I have no idea how the process works. They should at least guide me instead of collecting my money and all they do is talk here and there and sign papers and that’s it. Nothing happened. It’s all Bullshit. I told my girlfriends who had experienced filing divorce told me that I spent more than them and mine wasn’t even final. I was embarrassed by my friends because I chose these lame priority one associates… I wont’ even recommend these people or their company to any of my friends or colleagues in the future. They only want your money not helping you out. PERIOD.

I’m writing this review in «mid-​divorce» mode so I’ll update once the divorce is complete but so far this has been a really comforting experience. From the moment I called to make my first appointment until now (it’s been about 3 months) I couldn’t be happier. Divorce is hard, it’s emotional and it’s confusing. Tricia has been by my side ready to calm my fears, clearly explained the process (several times) and answer my multiple questions via email without judgment.
No divorce is «easy», mine sure hasn’t been. What started out as uncontested and agreeable, quickly turned into a nightmare and Tricia has been my rock. The paperwork can be daunting and I didn’t understand all of it but she was so patient and helped me 100%. I truly feel the care and personal attention you received from these lovely ladies is well worth any amount of money so it’s an added bonus that their fees are incredibly reasonable as well.
I wouldn’t wish divorce on anyone, however if you have to make that choice and don’t really need to spend the extra on a lawyer, I’d recommend Tricia and her team any day. My divorce should be final by the end of 2015 or early 2016 and I’ll update my review then. But I’m sure my stars will stay at 5 as Priority One Legal Document Service is a true Class Act.

I can not say enough good things about Priority One. I had a complicated divorce that had dragged on for three years. Lawyers had made it so complicated I had abandoned the process. In the mean time, I had met someone and was engaged. My timing was already extremely tight to get my divorce complete so I could get married before our children headed back to school. They got me organized and was very patient with me throughout the process. I then had my one of my best friends pass away before we were complete with the process. I was so heart broken I couldn’t do anything and I went silent on them. When I was ready to start again the timing of my divorce and my pending wedding was completely at risk. They were kind, calm, and focused and got me organized again. They pulled off a small miracle getting my paper work complete and through the process in time. They worked weekends and evenings to make this work for me. When they called me just two weeks before my wedding to tell me my divorce was complete I couldn’t have been more thankful. So in addition to the small miracle they pulled off, I can’t imagine not using them for an uncontested divorce. They make the process simple, straight forward, and treat everyone involved with respect and not judgment. I signed the papers in their office with my ex-​husband and we both said it was a good experience. We were able to end our marriage on our terms and not in the pocket of a lawyer. They are awesome.

I didn’t have a very pleasant experience with this firm. I paid $ 2000 to start my case and all they did was just a 30-​min interview appointment and sent me a bunch of forms to fill out. I didn’t send back all the forms in time due to some personal reason, then they claimed my case went to in-​active status after 90 days without explaining what exactly «in-​active» means. When I decided to continue with my case, they asked for another $ 1500! What a ripoff. They «claimed» that they have spent time and efforts to prepare filing documents for me which they haven’t never sent to me. Basically, I feel like I spent a good amount of $ 2,000 and barely get anything done. Stay away from this firm, if you have all everything agree with the other parties, you can easily get your case finalized with other paralegals for as less as $ 500 and just do it by yourself which is not rocket science. If you still decide to use their services, please beware of the traps in the contract before you sign.

It is interesting that the first comment from the owner indicates that I was not a «direct client», which is playing with semantics at best. I paid 50% of the fee of their divorce service and have a dozen emails while interacting «directly» with them. If that isnt a «client» experience, I dont know what is.
I wish them the best of luck, and if you are looking at divorce services, do your homework.

Nice people that work there, however their service for divorce is absolutely insufficient and as a result has caused me a lot of problems in my life. Don’t think that you can amicably divorce and use this service just to save money, because in the long run in will cost you tens of thousands in attorneys fees when you discover what they left out of the divorce decree and how the support was grossly miscalculated. For instance, nothing spelled out about timeshare, holidays, custody schedule, conduct orders, support. While the service gets the divorce done, it all starts to go downhill when conflict arises. You need to talk to an attorney, mediator or even LMFT that can give you the right advice and draw up the right type of divorce decree.

Priority One Legal Document Services handled filing the papers for my divorce. They completed everything in a timely manner. Their service is great for supporting the DIY and for a couple that can «agree» on all the terms of their divorce. I thought the price of $ 1595 was fair. …I am so thankful for their service as I am sure they saved me countless hours of trying to figure out, the right forms to fill out as well as navigating through filing with the county, etc. By them handling the paperwork and crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s I was able to focus on coming to agreement with my X on separation of assets, custody of kids and spousal support, etc. …Keep in mind this service will not make the decisions any easier and each party will still have «homework» to do but know that once you make your decisions the process will move forward smoothly and without a hitch with the assistance of Priority One Legal Document Services…

Yay!!! Done all done!!! With the help of Trisha everything run just smoothly as it can be. I know divorce topic is not just easy to discuss with someone else but, remembering how Trisha accomodate me on my first appointment made me feel so at ease. They work with you in a legal perspective with twist of a personal touch! From the day I filled, turn over of every legal documents from day one to final judgement went accordingly as plan. On the day, that I was supposed to have my final judgement, a technical change was requested by the judge reviewing my case, when changes like this happens, it feels like you’re back to square one again, but Trisha made sure to respond the Judge request in a timely manner, very apologetic, even knowing the fact that those changes are beyond their control. From the day of correction, I call them every week for feedback and they never run out of patience, they made me feel, everything’s under control. Few weeks after… here comes the good news!!! All approved!!! Thanks Trisha for all you help!!! This process will definitely be a turmoil for someone without you helping!!! Cheers for new beginnings!!!

If you are getting a divorce and don’t have the need for a lawyer then Priority One Legal should be your first option to check. From my first inquiry to the final signing everything went very smooth. All my calls and emails were answered in a timely manner and they are very pleasant to work with. Very reasonable costs compared to the time it would have taken me to try and figure this out on my own with some self help book. I would surely recommend them to anyone who is in need of this service.

I worked together with Tricia for a legal matter I needed help with and she was great to work with! I thought I was going through very simple divorce proceedings: no kids, no assets really, we’d only been married a short time. I’m a smart woman, I thought– I can totally handle this myself. My first shot was to do my paperwork on
. It seemed time consuming but conquerable. — a lot of instructions, forms pre-​populated, but overall if followed closely, I could totally handle this on my own. WRONG.
So a year in, I got to some crazy form that the court literally sent back to me three times, over 6 months because I forgot a date, or I forgot to add an address at the bottom, even though it was written at the top. Seriously, this college educated, business owner, couldn’t fill out this form correctly.
I gave up and through an easy Unilocal search found Priority One. After a quick consultation call, some forwarding of documents already filed, they actually recommended that they file everything again for me. It was around $ 1100 for their services to really handle the whole things– filling things out, filing, following up, etc. etc. TOTALLY WORTH IT. They updated me every step of the way, followed up when they didn’t hear back from my ex-​husband, gave me timelines on when I should hear back. It was much cheaper than hiring a lawyer and really all I needed was for them to fill out everything correctly. It took them around 5 months to have the entire thing settled after I had already been working on it a year. If I would have hired them in the first place I could have saved myself a lot of time, emotional termoil, and stress. Hire them! They’re lovely ladies and really know their stuff.

I approached them when i was being misled by a very competent but $$hungry lawyer. I was clear about my goal, expectations they were up for the challenge, they delighted me by completing my judgement ahead of promised time. It took me two weeks to fire my lawyer but they worked with me, helped me in all possible ways.

I worked with Tricia and Regina and they made everything very easy. My initial meeting was with Tricia and she was very friendly over email and our in-​person consultation — which was a HUGE reason why I stuck with them. The other companies I spoke with very briefly over the phone or via email were easy to cross off my list due to rudeness — when going through this divorce, I decided I wanted everything to be as ‘happy’ as possible… an impossible request but still, it helped tremendously.
The bulk of the documents was emailed to me which was very convenient but also a bit difficult when it came time for me to sort through on my own — I had lots of questions and had difficulty figuring out where to start. But after just 2 emails and a phone call with Tricia, I was all set.
My last meeting was with Regina and she was very pleasant and calm — again, attitude has played a huge role for me while going through this and I am very appreciative of how accommodating they both were /​are. Now I just have to sit and wait for Priority One to do the routine paperwork exchange with the court and my husband and I feel comfortable in doing so.
