NASTY! Tacos are greasy AF. Service is horrible I got a carne asada plate, it was nothing but fat on the meat! I talk to the waitress and inform her that the meat was full Of fat all she said that’s how it is. Clearly didn’t try to make it right! or offer me another item. We didn’t even eat the food!!! But did pay for it! Disappointed never coming back

Super yummy! pretty authentic. I had way too much food. The Champurrado: OMGHEAVEN! best i have ever had outside of my home town in MX!!! My only two :-(were: — The pineapple tamales were really dense not too fluffy. — The chile rellenos were a little too oily. they left an oil puddle on my plate. But definitely going back and taking more people to Sunday breakfast with me!

I have to update a little bit on my review. This place deserves my 5 stars now! They finally renovated their restroom! Not creepy anymore lol. My favorite dish has to be Enchiladas verdes de camaron and Las Pupusas. Very tasty! My parents love this place, I love this place!

My boyfriend & I used to religiously come here but they have changed all the staff & the food is not as good as it used to be. Now the waitresses are kinda rude & forget to bring you what you ask for & still charge you. They never give you a receipt so you have to ask for one just to make sure you’re being charged what you ordered. I used to order sopes, chicken tamale, w rice & beans & now the rice is super dry & even the beans taste like canned beans, chips were stale also. I heard one of the waitresses mocking a customer in Spanish & they act as if most of their customers don’t speak Spanish.

This place looks like a hole in the wall but it is very authentic. The pozole is amazing, and the tacos dorados are pretty good as well.

Parking: limited, first come first served. Better to carpool. It is by the 280 entrance on Story road, you will have to squeeze into a couple of tight spaces. Price: ranging from a $ 6.50 supreme burrito, to a $ 13.00 entrée as well as sea food. Very reasonable portions too. It is CASHONLY, so make sure you go to an ATM before you visit this location. Food: Delicious. Their menu is written in spanish for the most part, but it is a solid selection of typical Mexican food. They sell Tamales, sopes, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and lots of sea food options as well. Since it was our first visit my wife and I wanted to play it safe and get some options we typically get at other Mexican restaurants. I had a carne asada supreme burrito and a carnitas taco, both delicious. The carne asada burrito had refried beans, spanish rice, avacado, Pico de Gallo(I opted out of onions and sour cream). The carnitas taco meat was very tender, the steamed type of meat instead of the somewhat fried carnitas type. The entrée looked delicious as well, my wife claimed it was hotter than most other places, which definitely showed with small red pepper flakes blended in the sauce. Hand made tortillas with a choice of corn or flour. Delicious! We both got Agua de Tamarindo,(tamarind drink), very tangy and very sweet. I couldn’t tell if it was made from actual tamarind or from the packet type. Either way, very tasty. Definitely a must have for the local who is seeking an authentic Mexican meal. Ambience: The location is cozy with lots of seating, very hole in the wall type of feel with the nice paintings of flowers and other décor from the old town most Latino’s parents are from type of feel. The place does get busy during the usual times, and lots of people order take out, so if you don’t feel like eating there that is always a good option.

The quesadilla mixta I bought was delicious, but the four tacos cabeza was not tasteful because of the thick and hard corn tortillas.

I’ve been coming here for many years and I always wondered what brought me back, as a kid it was the friendly customer service. Later onto my teen years it was the mouthwatering burritos and menudo. But now as an adult the price for the quality of food seems to bring me back. If anyone is in San Jose looking for cheap, authentic, and tasty Mexican food you know where to find it.

If u r craving sme good home made Mexican food come here. It’s small but not crowded. From the simplest breakfast plate to the most famous plate like the enchiladas… mmmmm it’s tasteful. It’s like u took a bite of México; In addition, they have a special salsa that is only sold there. It’s not too spicy but enough to open up ur sinuses.

It’s a CASH-only hole in the wall, but way worth it! Don’t be scurrrrred. This is the best atole and champurrado place on the East Side, hands down! They offer regular flavor, coconut and the champurrado, of course! Excellent for a cold evening. The kiddos agree. :) If you have never tried either drink, stop what you’re doing and get your ass over there! Other than the drinks, I usually order tacos dorados de papa y desebrada, a very flavorful plate served with salad, tasty soft rice and potatoes. The servers are real nice, but if you’re the picky idiot type who has issues with language barriers, bring someone who can do the talking! It’s open ’til late, and is usually packed at night. Packed is good. That means my testament is echoed by many. Food’s hella good! What’s that? You haven’t tried atole de coco? Why are you still here? Go! :) :) :)

We love this whole in the wall. The chile relleno is the best(with cotija cheese) and would have given five starts but had more seeds than normally.

I am really surprised that I am the first to write a review for the Cenaduria at the Pink Elephant Shopping center. But it doesn’t surprise me because the taqueria and bakery next door seem to get all the love. This is ok with me. Personally, I never would’ve stumbled into this place if it wasn’t for someone I know that lives in this neighborhood. Situated in the middle of what’s considered one of San Jose’s toughest neighborhoods, the Cenaduria is a no frills restaurant that serves Mexican food like your mom(if she was Mexican) would serve at home. Yes, even fresh handmade tortillas! Yup, this place is ghetto, the inside desperately needs a remodel, the waitresses barely if anything speak English, is cash only and at times the food takes a while but it is so worth it. I don’t live in this area but will make the drive because I personally feel it’s the best Mexican restaurant around. On top of that, the gals that work here are very nice and make you feel welcomed. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jalisco Taqueria a few doors down(owned by the same guy) but that is Mex fast food, where the Cenaduria is home cooked style. No drive thru, it’s sit down or take out. The food does not have the typical processed Mexican food flavor so many«authentic» restaurants around here have, this is the real deal folks. I’ve tried a few of the dishes and they’ve pretty much all been hits. Chips & Salsa — Stale chips but a real good SPICY salsa, can’t complain since it’s complimentary Tamales — On par with Lucy’s if not better Steak Ranchero $ 10.75 — OMFG, this is my absolute favorite dish here. Chunks of steak slathered in an addicting spicy tomato sauce. Side salad, rice and refried beans. Numero Uno for me. Yum Yum Yum!!! Chile Relleno $ 9.25 — Finally a place where I can get a chile poblano generously filled with cotija(not jack cheese) that doesn’t have that generic batter flavor. They are pretty stingy with the sauce but next time I’ll just ask for more, I’m sure they’ll oblige. But then again the sauce is so good I mix it in with all the other stuff. Their menu has a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. You like Mexican bottled sodas? They have them. They also have champurrado(Google it) for you choco fans. Last time I went they even had a special cuaresma(lent) menu, how cool is that?! Maybe I’m a sucker because the ladies call me «mijo» and it reminds me of my mom but seriously this place is so freakin’ good I can’t wait to go back. If you dare venture to eastside San Jo’, I think you will be in for a treat. Right off King and 680⁄280 interchange. DOIT, thank me later :) Eastside San Jo’, you know!
