Peter Lee, DDS

I have gone to Dr. Lee 3 times, and I am very impressed by his staff and office. His staff are friendly, polite, and flexible with appointments. Dr. Lee always made me laugh as he cleaned my teeth, and we usually engaged in interesting and light conversation (when I could talk, that is!). When he put dye on my teeth to show me where I needed to concentrate more, he did not hesitate to give me some extra dye to use at home when I asked. Awesome! He is very funny and professional; I felt at ease in the chair, and he answered my questions without making me feel incompetent. If you want good work done on your teeth by a personable, intelligent dentist, go see Dr. Lee!

I am sorry to say, I had a terrible experience. I took my child to Dr. Lee for two baby root-​canals. He wasn’t very patient during the procedure. «If you don’t sit still, this is going to take even longer»! My child was only 4. He screamed thru the whole procedure and I had to restrain him to not move. So traumatic for me and him. After the procedure. my child’s tooth started turning a shade of BLUE and BLACK… after 3 months I took him to ANOTHER dentist to have it checked out, he took x-​rays and said basically… whoever completed the root canal, didn’t do it right! The dentist didn’t put the correct amount of material between the root of the tooth and the filling… it appears he ONLY put the filling material on the tooth! It caused a BIG infection under the tooth– which my child never complained about because the nerve was removed. The new dentist told me the tooth has to be removed! Yesterday, we removed the tooth. When looking at the extracted tooth, the tooth showed NO material between the root and filling– it was ALL filling. The infection was still on the tooth as well. (Blah!) We had the best experience at the new dentist and will NEVER go back to Dr. Peter Lee’s office. I am beyond upset to learn that the procedure wasn’t done correctly AND that the tooth had to be pulled out. On the X-​ray, it showed the other tooth that Dr. Lee worked on– might be failing too and might have to be pulled. Talk about traumatic and unnecessary. I wish I could have said I had a different experience, but personally I would NOT recommend going to this office.

I am actually posting this review per request from Dr Peter Lee’s office. Hopefully this post can provide some useful insight to other people who are visiting or will visit this dentist: I have been going there since 2007, yet sadly noticed the increase of charges accompanying a decrease in service quality over the years.
I got root canal and crown done for two of my teeth in ²⁰⁰⁷⁄₂₀₀₈. To my surprise after 5 years both crowns started getting loose. In December 2013 one crown finally fell off so I have to visit the office for some «emergence repair» — this is quite strange as I do have a third crown done by a different dentist in 2005 which lasts well even today. During that visit, I asked how long can I expect the new crown to last, if I were to get the replacement. However for a simple question like this, Dr Peter Lee appears to be extremely defensive and answered «No dentist on the earth can guarantee the new crown will last longer than the old one». When I pointed out this answer is not helpful from a patient’s perspective, he said «if you are not happy getting it done here again, then feel free to try a different dentist». In January 2014, another crown done at Dr Lee’s office started to lose tiny pieces at the root (notice this is NOT the tip of the teeth one uses to bite food) — this is another surprise so I called the office questioning the quality of their work. This time the response from the office has been rather hash: one of the front desk staff (Named Nicole) throwing me questions such as «How do I know things growing in your mouth?» or «How do I know why this crown does not last as long as other one?» — feeling offended by her answer, I said «maybe it is time for me to post a review somewhere so that other people know this is what happened for major dental work done here». Still I asked for an appointment with Dr Peter Lee to get the teeth checked since it is him who did this 5 years ago. Later I got a call from the office saying «Dr Peter Lee rejected your appointment and you are free to post anywhere for whatever you want to say».
So here comes this review on Unilocal.For customers who is visiting this office and seeing Dr Peter Lee, please notice Dr Lee said to me that «No dentist on earth can promise your crowns will last for 5 years», which speaks for the qualify of major dental work/​general service done here. In addition to that, please consider the kind of greetings you will receive by the front desk staff, should you raise doubt regarding the quality of their work.

i’ve been with Lee DEntal clinic for over 5yrs now and that’s a record breaking for me.
I have switched dentist several times and in most cases because of punctuality. I hate waiting and i really think it’s unacceptable especially if an appointment is made well in advance.
Dr. lee is very professional, the staff are friendly and helpful, I’m always greeted with respect and feels so comfortable. They keep me in check and calls me whenever an appt. is due. Most of all they are very flexible.
As for the dentist experience i am completely satisfied, he is very passionate with his profession and you know he cares about his patient.
Im just happy that i finally found a dentist that really serves my needs.

My fear of dentist kept me from going to the dentist for years until intense pain forced me to go once again. I found Dr. Lee on Unilocal and they took me in on an emergency basis and I was seen the same day I called with my intense tooth pain. Dr. Lee and his staff were kind and considerate to my needs. After my evaluation they took the time to explain all the work needed and we came up with a plan of action prioritizing the most critical to what can wait for later. Dr. Lee is knowledgeable when he is not explaining a procedure as he works on me, he is explaining a new instrument, or new procedure to his assistant. He is a man who enjoys his occupation and can be often caught singing while he is working. I have lost my fear of going to the dentist and look forward to continuing working with him and his staff. I highly recommend them for you and your family.

Dr. Peter Lee is a wonderful dentist. He is very thorough and gentle with procedures, and he is patient and very conscientious. He’s also great with kids, my 6 and 8 year olds love him.
Kathy, the office manager, is super friendly and welcoming. This office provides great service and excellent care.

I can’t say enough great things about this dental office! Easy to get to, very friendly and helpful staff, nice comfortable lobby, always clean, latest technology not to mention excellent dentist. I started going to Dr. Peter Lee a few years ago then my husband and kids switched over about two years ago. Dr. Peter Lee has always been very honest with us and explains things very well. We have all been very happy. I highly recommend him.

My daughters and i have been patients of Dr. Peter Lee for the past 5 years and I always recommend him to my friends. Like some others have mentioned, his front office is a clean and comfy living room and Kathy, Peter and Kim are very welcoming. He has the latest equipment and movies (kids) or nature videos with music (adults) to get your mind off your teeth, which is a nice touch. My oldest daughter had extreme fear of dentists — Peter patiently worked with her to gain her trust and she has even had a root canal/​crown done, which I never thought would be possible without a total knockout! When my oldest was away at school, another dentist remarked on the high quality of Peter’s work. Kathy recommended dental insurance for our family, and the prices are very fair. This is the perfect balance of the highest quality dental work provided by the most laid-​back, friendly and flexible dentist and staff, I highly recommend Dr. Peter Lee!

I was recommended to Dr. Lee by my friend about a year ago. It is a private practice in quiet part of Los Gatos. The office is very welcoming and the receptionist Kathy is exceptional at making you feel comfortable and listening to you. Dr. Lee is very thorough with all procedures and consultation. Me and my wife are regulars now at Dr. Lee’s office few times each year. The recommendations from Dr. Lee to other dentists for wisdom teeth/​braces have been stellar.
I encourage everyone to ditch their dentist just once and go for a dental cleaning visit to Dr Lee. You’ll be treated with respect, care and professionalism — all with very reasonalble costs.

I’ve known Dr. Peter Lee for at least half of my life, going all the way back to middle school! He is smart, honest and friendly.
I had a small wisdom tooth that I’ve been considering pulling out, but never did because I’ve heard horror stories in the past (about other doctors obviously). Granted that the tooth was smaller than most, the whole procedure took less than 5 minute and completely pain free!
If you want excellent, honest, and responsible doctor visit Dr. Lee.

I have been to many dentists over the years and Dr. Lee is a great! He is up to date on the latest and best treatments for you. He is willing to consult with a specialist if you need surgery or more advanced treatment.
Dr. Lee cheerfully answers my many questions I have dug up from Internet research. Most doctors hate this, and brush you off with a «you don’t need it» statement. He spends all the time you need during the appointment and never makes you feed rushed. Kathy, his assistant will work around your schedule and the best way to use your insurance so you get the maximum benefit.
Nobody loves going to the dentist, but Dr. Lee and his staff make it a warm and friendly experience.

Dr. Lee is the best dentist our entire family has been to. He and his assistant Kathy run a small and family oriented practice. The reception area looks like a comfortable living room, and even the traditional dentist chair is made more comfortable with movies or slideshows you can watch during your treatment. They are great with kids, as well as adults, and are very accommodating with both schedules and insurance. The overall effect is a warm, unintimidating, atmosphere, rather than a cold, scary place.
We definitely recommend a visit to Dr. Lee.
