Peter Cutler and Lisa Grundmann, DDS

I came to Dr. Cutler seriously traumatized by a series of other dentists. By the time I arrived at the Cutler and Grundmann office I needed Valium and laughing gas to get through any procedure. I was definitely suffering from high anxiety:)
Dr. Cutler is kind, warm, funny, patient and gentle. His staff is just as lovely. One major issue I had was trouble swallowing. I also, have difficulty being tilted all the way back. Dr. Cutler and others on his team, like Paula and LeeAnne, basically let me sit up any time I need to. They always treat me with respect and they never make me feel as if my behavior is a problem. Over time, I’ve been weaned from needing «the extras» to get through procedures. I still don’t love going to the dentist, but I’m no longer afraid to go to the dentist.
Since I had avoided dentists for such a long time, I did have quite a bit of work that had to happen once I came to Cutler and Grundmann. So, I have gone through fillings and crowns at the office and they do a meticulous job. The hygienist, Paula, is very thorough and she encourages me to have an excellent regiment at home.
I trust everyone at this office to be kind and caring. I love the front desk staff. They are sweet, efficient and knowledgeable. Everyone there is topnotch. I highly recommend Cutler and Grundmann! They are the best:)

I wish I could give this negative stars… I had the worst dental experience of my life here. I know that they didn’t cause my dental problems, but they were unable to diagnose them correctly, did not respond to their emergency line for 2 days, and followed up by asking to put a crown on the tooth rather than address or even revisit the extremely serious underlying problem.
I was seeing this dentist for about a year, getting a lot of fillings replaced and such. Over the course of several weeks, I started having shooting pains up into my brain every time I bit down, so I went to Dr. Grundmann with my concerns. She decided that it was because I needed an old crown replaced. These pains were rather excruciating, like an electrical shock shooting up into my brain, but she’s supposed to be a professional, so I trusted her opinion and got some molds done and a new crown ordered.
Over the weekend, the whole side of my face started to swell, and that’s when I knew it was as serious as it had been feeling. I tried to call the dental office’s emergency phone number, repeatedly, all weekend long. I begged for them to call me back, or refer me to someone else, or just call in a prescription for an antibiotic for me because my face was swelling from what seemed to be a pretty serious infection and they did not call me back and my face continued to swell and the pain kept increasing. I also had been having heart palpitations for a few months, leading up to this incident, not knowing that they could be related, but they started to peak at the same time that the infection did, and I have not had any since.
Finally, that Monday, Dr. Grundmann called me back apologizing that she had been in Tahoe and had forgotten her phone charger!!! She called in a prescription for antibiotics for me and then told me that they got the crown in and how about we put it on. I told her that I did not feel comfortable just going ahead and putting a crown on a tooth that was making my face swell and causing me absolutely excruciating pain. Needless to say, I did not continue to be a patient of hers. I went to another dentist and found out that I had major bone loss from the infection, and had to get a bone graft and a dental implant.
I do not recommend this dentist for anyone who has a history of having actual cavities or any sort of real dental issues.

Dr. Cutler has been my dentist for years and he has been great! I am not a fan of dentists (who is really, lol), but Dr. Cutler is funny, patient, and very understanding that the experience is not pleasurable for most patients, so he tries to make the procedure as comfortable and pain free as possible. Overall, the atmosphere and results are impeccable. The only thing is do not get him started about Michigan Football :)
Jan is also my hygienist here and so far she is wonderful! She is wonderful about cleaning my teeth and she is very personable, making it a good experience.

Amazing staff, clean facility, with a friendly Dentist.
First impression: I walked into the office and was greeted by the ladies at the front desk who were welcoming and friendly. They took the time to go over their procedures and offerings.
Doctor Cutler was very upfront and gave me the rundown on what needed to be done to achieve my dental goals.
The office was clean with good quality equipment. X-​Rays tend to be uncomfortable for me, but this office had the stand-​up (panoramic radiograph) that takes a picture of all your teeth in one instance vs. using multiple X-​Rays.
Overall I highly recommend this dentist office for anyone in the south bay needed good quality dentistry.

If you are looking for that elusive pleasant experience of visiting the dentist, look no further than this office. Suffice it to say that I am willing to drive for an hour or more just to continue being a patient here! Everyone who works here is so pleasant, and they just do such an excellent job taking care of my teeth (and my sister’s teeth, and my dad’s teeth, and my mom’s teeth…). X-​rays are quick and painless, cleanings are quick and painless (I usually see Jan). Questions and check-​ups with Dr. Cutler are anxiety-​free because he is very clear, pleasant, and direct, and because he has such an experienced and light touch in his dentistry. I would sent any member of my family here, as well as any of my friends.
Parking is also easy (private lot shared with a Starbucks), and the facility is super clean and new. Scheduling is very easy, and they are happy to send e-​mail, mail, and/​or phone reminders for appointments, depending on your personal preference.

Our family dentist for decades now. Dr. Cutler and Grundmann are both excellent dentists, as are their staff, and the state of the art equipment they use, and the recently remodeled office… it all deserves 5 stars!

Long overdue review. Peter Cutler has been our family dentist for the past three years. Here are some major plusses:
— very clean, modern office
— front desk staff is very nice, professional, very correct billing, all appointments have been correctly scheduled, you receive reminders for check ups and appointments
— semi annual check ups are very thorough. He does not miss anything. He will give his honest medical opinion and will not talk you in to any treatments. He thinks with you in terms of planning treatments to make sure you can use your insurance coverage
— appointments never run late. In case you like to read the gossip magazines at the dentist’s office, make sure you get there early because you will be called in right on time.
— dental work is A+. I have never had to go back and had something re-​done. All crowns are still in place and so are my fillings. My teeth are in the best condition ever.
This guy made sure I floss every night. I actually can not understand why I hardly ever flossed before. I now can not live without it and my last three check ups were 100% OK. So much for good education and frequent reminders from him.
Besides being an excellent dentist, he is just a very very nice guy. Alway in a good mood, never rushes you and makes alway time to answer any questions. I still have not figured out how he does that though– never running late but giving you all the time you need to ensure you are 100% comfortable and never leave the office with questions or with pain. Best dentist I have ever had in 37 years. And my standards are very high.

I’ve been a patient at this office for over 25yrs. My entire family are patients as well. I’ve always had the best dental care with early detection on 5 cavities & the staff is always willing to change my appoints. I’ve worked out payment plans for larger procedures; had braces as a teenager. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist. I will never change dentists! Oh and btw, the new Saratoga Ave. office is gorgeous… just make sure you leave yourself a few extra minutes to get to your appoint… the parking lot is tiny & always busy.

What an amazing dentist! Dr. Cutler is thorough, explains everything and is incredibly friendly. I’ve never had such a great experience going to the dentist and I’d probably keep coming here even if I moved.
Patty, Linda and the rest of the staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The new office is luxurious and I hear they’re going to put in wifi so you can work on your laptop while you wait. By the way, I didn’t even have a chance to do any work on my laptop. The wait was two, maybe three minutes tops.

Dr. Cutler has been my dentist for about seven or so years now. He has stood by his work when anything of his needed repairing — which isn’t often.
When one of my porcelain veneers came off — I bit into a chicken bone — I was able to get an emergency appointment immediately. I thought this was great considering it was a cosmetic issue, not a pain issue. His staff is friendly, professional, and awesome.
As stated in other reviews, his demeanor and bedside manner is unsurpassed. He’s always upbeat. Just don’t say the word «Michigan» or you’ll be talking Big 10 Football for an hour.
I highly recommend Dr Cutler.

I HATE THE DENTIST… I really do! In fact, my husband has to make my appointments because I never will no matter how much I promise! I don’t know where my disdain for the Dentist began, BUT Dr. Cutler definitely eases my nerves, tension and fear. He has the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a Dentist’s office and his hygenist, Jan, is super nice and funny… she knows how to put your nerves at ease.
Like the other review stated, Dr. Cutler is VERY nice. Now, I still DON’T look forward to the Dentist, but knowing that Dr. Cutler and his staff take extra care of those (ME) that fear the dentist and need some calm (TLC)…they will do whatever possible to ease your nerves… Trust me… I need that extra care and they remember that every single time…

I’ve been going to this office since I was owned by Dr. Powers. Drs Cutler and Grundman purchased it from him. (they’re married)
Dr. Cutler is freakishly nice. Like is this guy for real? nice. He does a great job and if I need a filling he shows me why. Uh yeah I did want to see my rotting tooth. But with all the scams I’ve heard about, I really apprieciate him doing that.
They hygenists are great and very experienced. This is no Western Dental.
The staff is the same staff that worked there when I was 10! Prices are okay, probably a little higher than normal but with insurance, they’re okay.
