Performance Air Service

These guys took a lot of my hard earned money about 9 years back. Two years ago when my Lennox AC unit needed service they informed me they no longer «do» residential and could not make a recommendation… They Did not make arrangements with another business to help support the installs they did. Oh well. I called Hussey Bros. after 4 attempts it seems to still have issues… They felt the install was kluged too. I’ve been without AC for two years. Hussey bros took 500 bucks to tell me they can’t figure it out every time I call them out. Not sure who I can turn to. This company sucks. Period. If you are a commercial business I would think twice before using them. They might say when you call for support we are done supporting your kind of company… They’ll be fine with telling you that… Will you be fine with it? Their business model is to make money on the installs only… cut corners to get it done quick. Then drop you like a hot rock when the going gets tough. Oh well. 0 stars.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST…
So we recently purchased a home (2500+ sq. ft /​2 story) and wanted to put in central air… We knew this would be a large investment but well worth it… We also figured we would need new duct work, and possible new furnaces… I did my homework… researched companies on-​line, called 10+ companies and interviewed them over the phone. I then took my top choices to come out to the house and recommend the best system and set up for our needs.
Tim Sanford, one of the owners, came to the house. You could tell from his questions and thorough walk thru that he knew his stuff. First impression was great, but the «proof would be in the pudding». Well, about 48 hours later I got his recommendation… Now he was our 3^rd bid and by this time I had learned quite a bit about Heating and Cooling and what systems offered what… His bid really set Performance Air apart from other companies… Here is why:
He really understood our needs and gave us a turn key bid from the start.
(Other companies gave us pages of add ons and it was a nightmare to understand let alone deceiving when it came to pricing)
You paid them for the job to get done right. They did not nickle and dime you… I really got the sense they were professionals with integrity and would stand behind their work… so they were hired!!!
(2 new AC units, 2 new furnaces and all new duct work upstairs and downstairs… it was a big job)
To shorten this review up a bit, here are some highlights:
— They started and ended the job on time
— They consistently communicated with me each day the status of the job and took as much time necessary to answer all my questions.
— Manny, the team lead, and Martin were GREAT. They did a fabulous job and were a pleasure to have around for 10 days
— They were dressed professionally and took such care of the house as they worked and cleaned up each night
— Tim stopped by several times throughout the project to check in on things and to check in with me
— When problems surfaced due to house structure, they didn’t charge extra for the necessary changes and gave me several options as a plan B
–they use quality Lennox products
–Our job passed inspection easily… in fact the city inspector was impressed with the quality of work
–Kim in the office was also a huge help and a pleasure to work with.
Performance Air Serivce is a top quality company… They did a STELLAR job. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Performance Air Service put in central air and a new furnace for us earlier this summer. Tim Stanford, one of the owners, came for the quote. He did way more measuring than the others (measuring ducts, etc.), and advised that we make several changes for the A/​C — a larger return air duct, an additional register, and moving the thermostat, as well as potentially replacing/​enlarging some of the other ducts. I was a little worried that these were just an effort to sell us extra work, but fortunately, my dad is super-​handy and knows how all the HVAC calcs work, so I asked him about the venting. Dad was, in fact, very impressed that Tim had proposed these items, so that sold me on Performance Air.
Jesus and Cale from Performance Air installed our new furnace and AC. They were prompt, courteous, clean, and careful. There was a lot of extra work involved, such as digging out drainage for the AC, and they stayed fairly late on Friday to get the system in and tested this week. I got a call from Tim after they left to confirm that I was satisfied and everything was working.
When I had the city inspector out, the system initially didn’t pass inspection (hence the 1 star deduction) due to two minor technical reasons that didn’t affect our use of the system — the AC pad needed to be staked down more firmly in case of earthquakes, and the power needed to be about an inch further over from where it was to be clear of the unit for servicing. I sent over the inspection report, and Jesus was back out in a couple of days and promptly fixed everything. He was actually nice enough to also put a cover on a light in our crawlspace that was also cited in the inspection, even though it was nothing to do with Performance Air.
The system is working well so far and our bills haven’t gone up significantly, so I think they did a good job with the sizing and installation. Overall, a very professional operation and I’d use them again.

During a strong wind storm in spring 2008, a power line arced and knocked out our home’s Lennox HVAC system. After checking circuits and fuses, I called Performance Air, the closest Lennox repair shop (another plumber recommended I do this, since Lennox shops get better deals on what are often expensive parts).
It was a really hot day, and their repair tech’s services were in high demand. Despite all the obvious stress, Tony was extremely nice, and willing to answer all of my questions. Turns out it was a not a control board like I thought (very expenisve), but a transformer (not too bad $$).
I would normally knock off a star because the part wasn’t in the truck and had to be purchased later, causing a 2-​day delay. But given the circumstances, and the effort put forth, that delay is easily forgiven.
