I needed to find a tenant attorney fast to deal with an unlawful detainer from a nasty landlord and I was so thankful to have found Chris Alexander at PBR legal. I was able to make an appointment with him the same day I called and had the whole situation settled within 48 hours! Chris was very knowledgable and professional calming my nervs right away. His firm really knows what they’re doing and are extremely fair when it comes to pricing. I had another lawyer quote me $ 5,000 to deal with my situation and Chris completely took care of me and charged me only 3 hours of his time, making it less than $ 1,000 for everything to go away.

PBR LEGAL is a fantastic landlord/​tenant law office. I called on a Friday and Bill immediately answered the phone. I told him my story: The apartment complex I moved out of attempted to charge me accelerated rent for the last six months of my lease (which is an absurd amount in San Francisco) after an entire month of terrible communication and website payment errors. All I needed to do was pay a buyout fee to break my lease, which I attempted to do multiple times via multiple methods – until they said I had run out of time and that the only option left was to pay the accelerated rent charge. It was a roller coaster that spiraled out of control. It was unprofessional, unlawful, and felt as if it had been planned.
Anyway, Bill swiftly set up a meeting between Christopher Alexander and myself the very next Monday. Christopher explained what the situation looked like from a law perspective in a manner I could easily understand, including what my options were. He immediately called up the apartment’s management; this pressured them to call their corporate bosses who decided to retract the accelerated rent charge.
The case was justly solved in my favor in about two days. If I ever find myself in an unfair landlord/​tenant situation in California again, I’ll absolutely be working with these guys, and you should, too.
Final thoughts: I’m going to send them champagne soon. These guys deserve no less than five stars. And to the person who gave them one star: are you sure we’re both writing about the same attorney? ;)

This firm is a joke! Still waiting to be served a law suit… Oh wait, you can’t be sued for this. Hmmmm maybe this firm is really dumb or knows nothing about law. Aren’t lawyers supposed to know the law?!

PLEASE KNOW THAT THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED ONE WEEK AFTER MY ORIGINAL EMAIL. It felt like it had been about 2 but please note it was only 1 week with no response. PBR LEGAL HAD 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO RESPOND.
In my original email I asked them to respond «at their convenience» which really is just a polite way of saying please reply within a few days. At my job if I email my boss they respond in at most a few days. If at school I email a professor they respond in a few days. If I contact my landlord (the one that hated me and I was having problems with) I get a response in a few days. Why would this firm not email me back if I have money and I am willing to pay for their services? If they were too busy to take me on as a client they should have responded within a few days saying sorry but we’re too busy with other clients. Because they hadn’t responded when I wrote this review it is fair and factual to call this firm unprofessional. They clearly do not like my review. They probably will try to sue me like they are threatening. They have no grounds.

Our landlord wanted to evict us without properly giving us notice. I contacted PBR legal and I’m so happy I did. I worked with Philip Rose and also met the rest his team and they were all super cool and very knowledgeable. I’m actually fairly late with this review. Me and my roommates were under major trouble due to the unscrupulous efforts of a major apartment complex in San Jose. We tried everything we could by ourselves and we were down to the wire. I referred to PBR legal by a friend of mine and we walked down to the business which is conveniently located in Downtown SJ.
Almost immediately, he began the process of halting the legal process against us by the apartment management and made an incredibly favorable deal for both parties. It’s really an underestimation that he saved our public reputations. Since we were students we had no idea where to turn to, but we were glad we chose him for our legal counsel and retainment.
