On Demand Water Heaters

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Ray. My wife and I live in Southern California. We have Anual passes for Disney Land. It was a hot humid day and Very crowded. As I was leaning against a wrought Iron fence to watch the parade, staying clear of the massive crowds, all on a «Mission» so was Ray. We both were doing so, while allowing family members to watch up and close.
While enduring the heat, I notice Ray still had a smile on his face, watching his large family enjoy the event. He also seemed to even enjoy others around him, often commenting in the the patade. He coomenting to me about how the breeze felt good. Although it was only a momentary relief from the heat, I was impressed that Ray did not focus on the negative effects of the heat, only the positiveness of the moment.
We started talking further and surprisingly I found what his occupation is. I told him that it was a huge coincidence, sine I am currently researching Tankless Water Heaters. Ray immediately impressed me with his knowledge and passion for what he does. He showed me impressive pictures of his work. Although, I am not a licensed contractor, I have many skills and wide knowledge base of construction and remodeling, since I do all my own home projects and now friends and neighbors often ask for my assistance.
I am also very good at recognizing good character in people I meet. I could tell Ray is a man I would trust to do work for me and I would recommend him to others. He took time on a hot humid summer day, while on vacation with his family to unselfishly help a stranger. He gave me his phone number and insisted that he could help me find a Tankless water heater here in Orange County California. He has no motivation to do so other than just to be kind to a stranger while displaying passion and belief in the product he installs. Great guy, wish he lived closer to me so I could give him the business.

Raymond is nice but not reliable. It wasn’t too bad when he replaced my tankless water heater, but he took almost 2 months to install my whole house water softener, after taking $ 1800 up front.
He repeatedly misses appointments and does not return calls or texts. Two months after install, I still don’t have my receipt, despite his promise to drop it off.
All in all, my experience with Ray was expensive and disappointing.

You can’t go wrong with Ray. He is professional and competent. He took care of a warranty issue for us and even came out in the evening to do the repairs when the parts arrived late. Fabulous customer service!

Regarding a warranty issue with my Eternal hybrid water heater, none of the manufacturer-​assigned companies would come out to Pleasanton. So I called Raymond again who initially installed it and he resolved the issue in 5 min!
Returning from a holiday weekend trip the same water heater stopped functioning and we only had cold water. With a full schedule for the day already, Raymond came out at 8 pm to get us hot water again. Couldn’t be more satisfied with this guy :-)

My tankless water heater stopped working and I called the manufacturer to have it fixed. But, I was given the run around and after a couple days of getting no where with them, I called On Demand Water Heaters. Ray is awesome! He explained how these water heaters work, as well as how manufacturers can give a run around. He advocated on my behalf with that company to no avail, but A for effort, and at that point I just wanted a different brand anyways. The next day he came to install the new water heater, and had my house running with hot water again in no time. He was knowledgeable and gave me an excellent rate. He was responsive to a follow up concernI had as well. I will definitely be using this company in the future.

They helped my select a water heater a few years back and were great about the installation which included running a new gas pipe as well to feed the tankless system. They were professional, neat, and knowledgable. Loved it!
The heater has been wonderful. We never run out of hot water. These heaters are pretty high tech and there have been a couple of upgrades which to the credit of both the factory and On Demand were on the house. These guys are top knotch in my book and I would highly recommend them.

Raymond did a really good job by replacing my gas pipes.
His initial estimate was free and he gave me reasonable price.
I was a little bit concerned with 2 unanswered phone calls after initial estimate and rescheduling the job.
However after that everything went quite well. He replaced all my gas pipes and tried to find gas leaks in process.
He was really helpful by answering all my questions (I am do it yourself guy).
I would recommend him to all my friends.
Yes, I will use his service again.

As a business owner, Ray is extremely experienced, honest, and compassionate. He went out his way to help me fix my AO Smith water heater. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate his expertise and integrity in what he does. Ray definitely runs his business in best practices. Thank you Ray!

Raymond did a great job for me handling the warranty replacement of my first-​generation Grandhall Eternal water heater. He was extremely knowledgeable about the product and did a fantastic job expediting the warranty claim and replacement even though I didn’t originally purchase the unit or install through On Demand Water Heaters. The re-​install of the updated wall-​mounted unit was performed perfectly.
It was impressive that he even could recognize the work of the company that did my original install (I wasn’t impressed with them).
They are a smaller operation and I did experience Ray getting hung up on a job that had complications, but he was communicative and apologetic. The great pricing, knowledge, and overall courteousness more than made up for the fact that you’re not dealing with a company with a fleet of trucks and plumbers.

AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!! Ray disappears for days on end and will not return phone calls or texts. On top of that, he misses scheduled appointments with no call or acknowledgment. It took him a week to come out and even diagnose the problem with my water heater. The whole time he was stringing my landlord along like he was going to come out. He may be cheap, but ultimately we’ve had to go with another business after waiting a week. Save your time and just go with someone else. TERRIBLE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS!!!

On Demand Water may have the best prices, however their customer service with regard to follow up leaves a lot to be desired.
Called to make an appointment to get an estimate on installing an Eternal Tankless Water Heater. It took 2 days to get a call back … When I spoke with Raymond, he explained the differences between the water heaters we were considering (Noritz vs Eternal). He asked some specifics about the installation, he was willing able able to estimate the installation over the phone … and yes, compared to the the other quotes we received he did have a (slightly) better price and he said that he would send us a written estimate via email. When we didn’t get the written estimate by the end of the week, I called Raymond again and he said that he was busy and that he hadn’t had a chance to write it up and promised to have it to us by the weekend. The weekend had come and gone. My husband made a call to Raymond and left a message asking him to send us the written estimate. After the initial phone call in late March, we still have not received a written estimate from On Demand Water Heaters.
In my opinion, On Demand Water Heaters over promises and under delivers.
Note: We decided to have BG Plumbing install our tankless water heater, Tsanko, the owner has been patient, accommodating and flexible with us through this process.

Best Price, On time, No extra fees.
Available: First I called and someone answered the phone that could give me a real price on the spot. After discussing with Raymond which model I wanted I went with the Bradford-​White since they have replacement and repair parts available at their warehouse. I have read many reviews of people waiting a week for a replacement part under warranty and having to pay for shipping.
Courteous: They called when they were 10 min out and showed up when they said they would. What an incredible and rare experience.
Fast and Clean: The work started at 11:30 and was completed by 12:25 with no mess to clean up.
Friendly: Oh Yes they are.
I had an incredible experience with On Demand Water Heaters and recommend them highly. To put this into 90’s lingo «they are off da hook» .

I am excited!
Finally found a water heater company/​person that has a «good vibe» about them. Raymond from On Demand Water Heaters is polite, shows up at his scheduled time, explains answers to any question I might have. He will come and repair others work, knows his product, has fair pricing, all around a company I will be doing business with in the future. Heck I even called the manufacturer of the water heater and let them know they have a great contractor installing and repairing their equipment in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Call Raymond and give him a try or at lest talk with him.
Ha, even tell him you heard about him from a guy in a bright aloha shirt!

I can’t say enough about the service and quality of work that I received from Raymond and his crew. I wanted to replace my old gas water heater with a new on demand type. Ran into Raymond at the San Jose Home Show. He was the only contractor there that did not pressure me to make a choice on the spot. Called him several weeks later to talk about the hybrid Eternal heater. He came out that night to take a look at the location and firm up an estimate. Not only did he honor the Home Show discount, but he added in larger gas line knowing that we were getting ready to remodel in our kitchen. The work was done the following week within a day and so quietly that my night working husband was able to get a good amount of sleep. The crew was on time, cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Would recommend them to anyone looking for quality workmanship.
