DJ is the man to see. He knows what’s up. and will take care of you… even if certain people who roam around the shop screw you over.
Came here to take advantage of the package deal. (shoes, ball and bag). Ordered what I had wanted since they didn’t have it in stock. and then my gf was able to get her stuff that day since her stuff was in stock.
Came back a few days later after DJ called and told me my ball was in… Came in that evening. and alas… my ball was nowhere to be found. Eventually after searching around for awhile… DJ found the box for my ball. It was empty. He promptly apologized and told me how the shop had college kids come in and had somewhat free reign over drilling whatever. and though my ball was apparently set aside… It was taken anyway. I might have been pretty angry. but it looked like DJ was even more upset about the situation than I was… That showed me how much he cared towards his customers. and that meant a lot to me.
Frustrated. DJ was willing to help me out and reorder it at a discount… but leaving the shop that evening empty-​handed was something I didn’t want. So. we found the same ball. (in a different color). and after some thought… decided to settle. For the trouble, DJ helped us a bit more and I was able to try out the new ball that evening.

I went to Off the Sheet to try another pro shop. I had a feeling that something was just off with my balls and it was just not all me. I’m a 192 – 199 ish bowler depending on the league (As I bowl 3) but my consistency just sucked. So I did my research for a Pro shop and ended up coming here.
When I went in DJ did my measurements and compared them to my current balls. The difference in span and thumb pitch was pretty drastic. He was surprised I could get out of my balls smoothly without hanging. I had done my research and was interested in a Vandal by DV8, he said it was a fantastic ball. He asked me what I wanted it to do as we could not go off of my current balls track. I told him I would go with his suggestion so he drilled it with a benchmark pattern for control.
I will admit at first it took some serious getting use too. The release is totally different than my previous balls. However, once I got use to it the ball was amazingly consistent and when it didn’t go right it was 100% me and not me feeling it was perfect only to watch it go high or light and wonder what the hell just went wrong. After a few league nights I decided I needed a whole new setup as my other balls were a no go now with the change in grip.
I loved the Vandal so much I though I would go back and get another one drilled more aggressive to complement the current one. DJ was not there so I talked to Greg. I told him what I wanted to do and he flat out said he would not do it. The reason is that another Vandal drilled even more aggressive would not do what I wanted. I asked him what he would suggest to meet my needs and he suggested the Brunswick Mastermind Einstein drilled aggressive. I knew nothing of this ball and just trusted his judgement. Oh man I’m glad I did!
At the time of these two acquisitions I was bowling only one summer league which starts at 9pm with no oil before and leagues before us. The lanes are so beat up and dry that I was resorting to using my spare plastic ball and it hooked! My average dropped to 182 in this league do to the conditions. So I needed a third ball to finish out my progression so back to OTS I went. I researched the Brunswick LT-​48. DJ again praised this ball and I told him what I wanted it to do and he drilled it. I never practiced with it other than using it the previous Sun/​Mon as my spare ball. The following league night I went straight to it and bowled 194÷224÷146 even with this ball the lanes went so dry i struggled the last game. I was still not use to the ball as a spare ball but I had to learn thus used only it and the 3^rd game reflects that as I missed a lot of spares.
In the meantime I have started two new leagues that bowl early and oiled before hand. I struggled using the LT-​48 as my spare ball again. The Vandal and the Einstein were perfect and consistent but I missed a lot of spares trying to get use to the LT-​48. Last night was the first night I feel I bowled to the potential of the balls. I shot 202 (missed 10pin in 10^th), 223 and 247. I missed one spare all night with the LT-​48 and that was my only open out of all 3 games which I had a bunch of 10pins between the 3. The progression is perfect. I use the Einstein until it starts going a bit high then just move to the Vandal without moving my mark and it hits perfect. The LT-​48 is really a great ball and now that I have found a line for 10pins I feel all three flow perfectly.
I know this is long winded but I simply can’t praise OTS enough. They listened to what I wanted the ball to do and I put my trust that they would do it right. Thus I wanted others to know that not only is the staff cool but they know the balls they sell and what they will do and not do and will recommend the best ball for your requirements. They now have a customer for life.

Background: Very beginner bowler. Very entry level, but currently on a league and hoping/​trying to increase my average.
Came to here to get a bowling ball which I don’t have a lot of knowledge of.
I think Tony was the man who helped me. He gave me good information and assistance. He didn’t try to push me but really gave me his support.
I picked a ball, got it sized, and after 20 minutes I got my first ball.
I left with a ball with a good experience and can’t wait to use my ball!

Fantastic service and staff. The best shop around!!! My wife and I are very new to bowling. We left with balls, bags and shoes and 2 big smiles. The fitting and attention to detail went way beyond our expectations. We will be back for any of our bowling needs.

This place is awesome! The employees are helpful and knowledgeable and the store has everything you need! Off the Street Pro Shop is definitely my preferred place to shop for all my bowling equipment.

Lindsay is awesome. He’s wonderful working with people to help them understand what’s going on through the process of having your ball fitted and drilled. Service here is second to none. Prices are pretty good as well. This is the place I’d recommend all my friends to go for their bowling needs.

I just recently started to get into the bowling scene a year ago and I am hooked! When I first stepped into this shop I was greeted and ask if I needed any help. I was just browsing around and seeing what kind of spare balls they had in stock. DJ helped me out and told me what they had in my size. Then, he decided to bust out with a huge binder showing me all the options of spare balls they could order since they had a limited supply.
I started to go off topic regarding spare balls and I asked him about ball suggestions that he would recommend for me concerning medium to light oil. Since my current ball (Storm IQ tour) would start hooking too early when the oil pattern starts breaking, I wanted to add a ball that would hook later. After explaining to him my situation, he asked me if I had my bowling gear with me because he wanted to see how I threw the ball and give me advice on what type of ball I would look for. So I got my gear and he watched me throw a few shots to see what he was working with. He showed me what drilling layout would work the best for my shot and gave me a little lesson on what RG and Differential meant and what I personally should look for. That experience in itself was priceless to me as a customer.
They go above and beyond to make sure that I get the necessary equipment that fits my style of bowling. I couldn’t thank him enough for the attention to detail that he provided me. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who wants quality service and products for their bowling needs. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful!

Got my very first bowling ball here on saturday. I walked in and was immediately asked if i needed any help. I said let them know that i was going to get my first bowling ball and that i was looking for someone who can give me some advice. I have been bowling for a while now for fun and so im not really new to bowling. I explained that i was looking for a ball that has some hook to it and they gave me a variety of options to look at. Very informative and helpful. When i finally was ready to pick a ball they explained their $ 180 for shoes bowling ball and bag deal. Which was great since i needed a bag but not the shoes. so i ended up giving the shoes to a friend of mine. The ball alone was $ 140 so i figure might as well get the package. I was then fitted for and measured to have my bowling ball drilled correct to my hands. I believe his name was Lindsey? (i may be wrong) but he was very informative and gave me a lot of tips. I decided to go with the finger tip grip and he gave me some tips. My ball was finished within less than an hour and i immediately went to the lanes to give it a try. I was very impressed with the performance of my ball. The service here was great and helpful. Im happy with my bowling ball and would definitely recommend anyone to go here for some help.
In case anyone wanted to know which ball i got, i got the Storm Tropical Breeze Red/​Black and it smell just like cherries… which is pretty funny/​cool.

This is the place to go, to get all your bowling needs fulfilled !!! Tony and the boys do a great job getting you fit into your bowling ball and making sure all is good before you leave. They will do whatever they need to make it right ! Like most bowling shops they don’t have everything on hand, but will order it and have it ready for you pretty quickly. Just don’t think you can walk in pick any ball and expect them to have it ready in 1 hour so you can bowl league, although they can do it if it is in stock ! How often can you get fitted and helped out by 3 or more professional bowlers ??? nuff said !

Last Friday, I drove all the way from San Bruno to San Jose to get my new Track 916 ball drilled and fitted by Lindsey.
He was very patient and thorough in my fitting. Considering I was a new bowler, he didn’t make the fitting too aggressive so I would have control issues with the new ball.
The fitting was perfect, he gave simple tips on proper ball release from the thumb and fingers and I did pretty good on my first time out on the lanes.
My friend thought I was crazy to go all the way down there, but if I wanted to have it done right the first time, Lindsey is definitely the person to go to. Thanks again «Off the Sheet».

I can’t say that I have been totally happy with purchases made here. I bought a bag, ball and shoes for a Christmas gift for someone.
Long story short, they failed to ask me if the shoes were for a left or right handed bowler. I didn’t know there was a difference. The shoes I purchased were for right-​handed and my gift was for a left-​handed person. We took them back the day after Christmas for an exchange of the proper shoes.
We were told they would get the proper shoes in a couple of days.
We went a couple of days later to pick up the shoes because we were told Tony was going to go and pick them up from a supplier. The supplier failed to give him the order, but we weren’t informed until we went to pick them up.
It’s now 14 days later and we still don’t have the shoes. Off the Sheet hasn’t called to give us an update or even to let us know the status of the shoes they were supposed to get in for us.
I have made about 6 trips to this store for 3 items and still don’t have them all yet.
Edit: I just found out the black shoes that we bought, then returned, are now white shoes.

I was looking for a pro shop a little more organized with possibly more features than my old one and decided to check out Off the Sheet Pro Shop (about a year ago). I have gone there several times now and am very satisfied with their service.
Here are the reasons that I really like Off the Sheet Pro Shop
— The expertise is nice to have available; there are several PBA bowlers regularly on site in the event of bowling questions
— I think they have a nice selection of bowling balls.
— In addition to the new balls they have a decent selection of nicely priced, used (almost new) bowling balls.
— Overall price for everything is on par or better than most pro shops, especially with the periodic discounts /​packages they have!
— I have gone to several pro shops and their attention to detail when drilling and fitting my ball is the best by far that I have seen.
— Additional services such as lessons, seminars & video analysis are readily available, where as most other shops have limited resources to offer.
I think they have, by far, the most to offer of all the pro shops in the bay area and yet their prices are as good or better than the other places. I highly recommend Off the Sheet Pro Shop!

I come here for all of my bowling needs. This shop is owned and operated by 2 PBA Bowlers: Lindsey Wong and Tony Reyes. They have a great inventory of bowling balls, bags, and other supplies that are reasonably priced. The shop is clean and well kept so it encourages you to browse a bit and look at the different things that you all of a sudden find yourself «needing.» Some of the shops I’ve been to in other area’s or locations are really dusty and dirty looking… Off the Sheet is MUCH cleaner which to me says they take pride in their business and want their customers to feel comfortable.
Lindsey Wong (whom many call the «Dr») has been drilling all of my equipment for the last 10 years. He has also helped out with coaching me which is no small task since I don’t like to listen most times. He is meticulous on getting the fit right on my bowling balls. Initially, I started coming to Lindsey at Off the Sheet after trying several different drillers who were impatient when I needed them to fine tune the feel of my equipment. When you spend $$$ on equipment you want it to fit right!!! Not to mention if you don’t get it fit right, it can cause blisters and hand pain. Once I started coming to Lindsey, I was reassured that i was not a «fit freak» and now feel totally confident that my equipment will fit right all of the time. At Off the Shop, they take the time to listen to what you are teling them and make adjustments to your bowling ball as needed. When you bowl as much as I do, you don’t want to think about how your equipment feels, you just want to execute the shot and knock down some pins. Do Olympic runners want to think about the blister their shoe is giving them? I think not?!
Tony and Lindsey are great about recommending new bowling balls to try out. If you are not sure what to get, they will come out and watch you bowl a little bit to try to help you choose something that will work with your game. They also offer a discounted package to buy a ball, bag, and shoes which is helpful to a lot of first time ball buyers.

I came to Off the Sheet for the first time this spring needing a new ball. Tony and Lindsey very carefully discussed together my game, my needs, ball types and layout, and decided on a Columbia Ransom with a layout to make the ball roll a bit earlier. I averaged 212 this last winter league and have had many 260+ games since with the ball. But this week in league was truly amazing. I shot 266÷300÷267 for an 833 series. There was a stretch where I had 25 in a row. There was a great mix of mostly solid strikes, but also a messenger hit, a couple trip 4’s, and a few light hit mixers. Nearly everything carried. I’ve never seen or done anything like this before. I give great credit to Tony and Lindsey for the care they took and knowing exactly what I needed. Thanks Tony and Lindsey — you’re the best!

Wanted to upgrade from the first ball I’ve had since I was young. Ordered a storm ball from here and had it drilled by Tony. I brought in my old ball and explained to him what I didn’t like about it. He took the time to explain to me about how he’d drill the ball to help my game more. Since then my bowling has really improved since I’ve gotten the ball, i’m hitting the pocket much better.
Had a great experience, will definitely return and recommend everyone to come here.

All staff at this location is great. Mostly dealt with Tony, and is a great guy. Is very knowledgalbe of equipment. Watches you bowl and from there assists you in getting the equipment that will best fit you. As a bonus, Tony is willing to give a few pointers here and there…

Tony drills all my equipment. Tony recently drilled a Columbia Ransom for me and it rolled wonderfully in the Livermore Valley Tournament. I bowled a 728 series in Team and the Singles event! He knows his stuff

Called Tony Reyes for some advice on a ball and is very knowledgable! I reccomend this small shop, because he is a tour bowler and knows his stuff!!! Lindsey Wong is also very good both owners of this shop and PBA bowlers!!! Check them out!!!
