Angie O’Sullivan has simply touched my heart! Every time I have come to Lokahi Acupuncture, Angie has managed to take away the pain — in whichever form it was showing up — with such gentleness and wisdom, always adding a delightful form of massage as appropriate. I am so very grateful! Everybody at Lokahi has always been so very welcoming and friendly that, of course, I will come again!

I have been visiting this acupuncture place for about a year now. The staff are extremely friendly. You walk into this environment and feel like family.
I have been suffering from insomnia for two years now and tried various medications, but I was still having problems sleeping. For the last two weeks, Angie has been giving me ear patches with little needles inside. They worked like magic! I slept like a baby last night and the world looked so wonderful after a good night’s sleep. I had enough energy to work out and even sang while cooking today.
I am so grateful for Angie and her staff. Thank you!!!

I visited Lokahi Acupuncture throughout the third trimester of my pregnancy.
The ladies who work there are really sweet and the front desk office manager is very capable of handling insurance claims.
I had a complicated situation where I was doubly insured and the office manager knew how to take care of it. I volunteered to help but she basically took the responsibility off of my hands.
The office is really beautiful — it looks like a spa so they offer a very soothing environment. Each time I went, I often fell asleep and got some much needed rest. They gently worked on helping me get the baby low in the belly in preparation for birth. When I went in to labor, the baby’s head was at station 0, and people often remarked on how low the baby sat in my belly.
The only thing is that I also depended on them for labor induction and didn’t get a result. Not the end of the world though because the baby did choose to come out on her own, and in the mean time, visits to Lokahi helped to manage my pregnancy stress.

Katy Barry is the best acupuncture practitioner I have ever been too. Katy begins by listening to your symptoms and concerns. She is extremely patient and makes you feel cared about. She has treated me for a variety of conditions and each time we’ve had moderate to complete success. She seems to have a magical sense of what an ailing body needs. She is a true healer. The needles are never painful — I’ve been to some practitioners and come away feeling every needle go in — not the case with Katy. She is gentle, very gentle, and I cannot recall a needle ever hurting me.(And boy, you should see the length of some of those spikes — especially for sciatica!)
I look forward to my acupuncture sessions as eagerly as if I were having a spa session! Katy usually places the needles and leaves you cozy in a warm blanket with a heat lamp, if needed, and I usually fall into a delicious, relaxing nap. She usually finishes with some kind of massage.
For a while, I had a great insurance plan that covered all my expenses at Lokahi, but when we changed to a different plan we found we weren’t covered. So we went to a practitioner in our network. They were nowhere near as good. I eventually came back to Katy at Lokahi, preferring to pay out of pocket if I had to. Luckily, our flex account covers it and they are really helpful about giving us a super bill to make our claim.
I so glad I returned to Katy. My health has sprung back and I feel so much better. Do yourself a favor and try this place and you will see for yourself how amazing they are there. For instance she cured my sciatica in one session… try it — you will be amazed!

Angie O’Sullivan at Lokahi Acupuncture is an angel. Ten hours after my treatment, my neck had much less pain, more range of motion. I felt lighter and energized. Walked a couple of miles total, which tightened up my mid-​back some, but within 48 hours even that was gone, and even the cervical misalignment corrected itself as the muscles continue to recover. The best part is that as my muscles opened, I feel hope again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I’m looking at my Unilocal reviews and I have the worst injury stories. Not that my injury stories are awful as in the injury is terrible, but the way I get them are ridiculous.
PRO TIP: eat something before you go in. Just a little something to give you energy.
I decided to go ham with my friend in a workout and do crunches on a yoga ball. Harmless right? I usually do straight leg situps but thought it might be cool to do it on a yoga ball. Lesson #1: don’t do stuff cause its cool. Thought i learned that during the DARE program. Anyway, it resulted in neck spasms, my shoulder and neck being at a level 10 of tension and pain shooting into my skull.
What worked for me this time was a combo chiro/​acupuncture. My friend echiang had been trying to get me to go to acupuncture since last December. Finally, Angel made a work visit to convince me. Well maybe not entirely to convince me, but I’m thankful! I made my appointment that Saturday, a mere two days later. Thankful for any place that has Saturday appointments.
So I went, pretty nervous. Angel did cupping on me and then made me feel like a hedgehog with a ton of needles in my back. The cupping was a little painful (but I do like it so… take that as you will) but Angel loosened it up ASAP to make it more comfortable. She then put some needles in, gave me the [panic] bell and left me to sit for 30 minutes. She checked up on me every 10 to make sure I was OK.
Afterwards, I felt a little woozy. Like, can’t stay upright for more than a second. Hence PRO TIP. Eat. Eat and drink a little something before your appointment. I actually slept for four hours after leaving which is probably because I hadn’t slept well for almost a week after injury.
You can say acupuncture is full of crackawho, but for me its been amazing. It is a little expensive to go at almost $ 75 a session if you are not insured for it. I’ll probably have to go less but if i could, I’d go every Saturday. Its helped me with my neck and shoulder issues as well as my stress levels. Try it. Try it with Angel! She’s a sweetie and goes out of her way to remember the small details in your visits. My kind of girl

Go see Angel! I was in a lot of pain and she listened to what my concerns were! The treatment was amazing — I really like the «cupping»! After my second treatment the pain had gone from a level 10 to level 1!

So you say your Dr. referred you? How can this help me? I don’t know let me see… Oh it’s all about your Qi. A little medicine will be preformed and then you’ll see it was all meant to be.
But I’m afraid of needles. You might feel a quick pinch but I don’t think you’d even flinch. Anna’s skilled hands glide over your body knowing just where to go. What, you didn’t know, they’ve all been put in. Now just lay back and let it sink in.

Anna, will you talk me through this? Yes, I have time to sit and chat to see where you’re at. Laugh cry, a big sigh. I can see in her eyes she wants me to fly high. Her bedside manner is better than the rest, oh she does do the best. So, how are you sleeping at night she asks. Why, do you have needles I can put in my partner so he doesn’t snore? No, but you need you to restore or I’ll have to see you more.
How many needles do I need? It doesn’t seem as if you put enough. Oh, don’t you worry my dear, I know my stuff. Three, six ten as long as you don’t put it in the middle of my forehead again. The ears were a fine substitute for what you needed to achieve, thank you for always wearing your heart on your sleeve.
Oh Rudel, Rudel, you’ve cast your spell! There isn’t enough time in the day for what I want to say. I only hope this post reflects the magnitude of my gratitude!

This is my first time to give a review on Unilocal. I don’t like and don’t have time to comment much things around. But, i just wanted to give out how i was disappointed of this place.
I would like to give 1 star for scheduling appointments. I found this place from Unilocal with good reviews. I called to make an appointment as a New Patient last Monday. Someone said to me over phone that I should come regularly for 2 – 3 days for the next visit like on Wednesday or on Friday. I was happy that my pain would go away fast if I could see them often.
Honestly, i liked Angel whom was very calm and professional. Angel was always fully booked. I didn’t mind to see any acupuncturist to take my pain away as soon as possible.
But, I’m so disappointed that It was VERY VERY HARD to make an appointment. I tried to make an appointment on Wednesday, but they were all full. They wanted me to see them next Friday after my first visit. It took almost 2 weeks to see them again. It didn’t make sense to me if they talked over phone like that but did different way. I asked them why too long, they just said because they were all full. REALLY?
I was wondering why they accepted NEW PATIENT but as they knew they couldn’t see them in within a week. It’s just a WASTE for me.
I have been working 4−5days/week for healthcare also. I’m working for a busy clinic, but we always control the schedule for some available spots for Emergency or new patient’s next visit if we approve new patients.
The fact is when everyone makes appointments for any reasons, we always choose on our off day. As I knew it was hard to make an appointment, i called them to make another appointment 2 weeks ahead, but they didn’t have any available spot either.
Therefore, I won’t come back there again. I don’t want to waste my time, my money and how my pain gets better if i might only see them once a month or in two months as they are always full.
If you are a NEW PATIENT and work full time. Think about it carefully.

Angel is fabulous. She is sweet, calming and very good at what she does. I was nervous about trying acupuncture, but I went in for a bit of help with increasing energy and decreasing stress, and the difference I felt in one session was great. As a business owner, wife and mother of three, I don’t get down time often, and when someone lays me face down on a table in a quiet space, with or without needles, I expected to be asleep within seconds. However, my first experience with Angel at Lokahi had me very aware, thinking clearly but calmly the whole time, and when she came back into the room to check on me, I could have sworn she had only been gone for a minute. The good feeling lasted all day, and I slept better that night than I had in years. I will be going to see Angel more often, and will be sending my personal training clients to her as well. Thanks Angel!

I am not surprised to see the 5 star reviews for Lokahi Acupuncture — they deserve this and more!
I have been seeing Anna Rudel for about 6 months and would highly recommend her. I have also seen Katy Barry and tried their community room, and all of them helped me conceive my first baby, which is the greatest gift they have given me.
Lokahi is not an acupuncture place. It is a holistic healing facility, a spa and much more. Every time I have a session, no matter how stressed I go in, I always come out relaxed and calm. They’ve gone beyond acupuncture to help me through my first trimester and now in my second trimester, I have no intention of stopping my treatments!
I used to be scared to death of needles (still am) but this doesn’t hurt one bit. Highly recommend for men and women battling fertility issues and other ailments in general.

I had my first ever acupuncture appointment today with Katy Barry. She is so very kind and gentle and made the experience a positive one. After 2 years of trying to conceive and numerous unsuccessful visits with the fertility doctor, I decided to give acupuncture a try. The appointment was about an hour long and Katy gives you her undivided attention. She suggested I come in for weekly sessions and recommended fertility supplements. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I began seeing Katy Barry because another acupuncturist referred me to her, as she specializes in people with PCOS. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and was trying to conceive, so sought out acupuncture as one possible remedy, along with medical interventions. The first time I met Katy I was a mess, very upset about my diagnosis and what it would mean on our path to have a baby. She sat with me and talked, let me express my feelings, and validated them. I felt she heard me and offered me resources and information. I had never had acupuncture before and wasnt sure what it would be like. It probably was a full hour of Katy’s time just talking to me and explaining steps before I even laid down and got some needles.
If you have never done it before either, I can assure you it doesnt hurt! We did weekly cycles and added a stimulation to the ovaries around the time of ovulation. She also offered a fertility meditation and was kind enough to download it for me so I could listen to it at home. Again, I had NEVER listened to any meditation before, but when you are struggling with infertility, I feel like you will try anything and it couldnt hurt.
The last session in her office was amazing, and I dont know how to describe it, but while I listened to the meditation, with the needles etc, I just FELT like it was working/​happening. I am extremely grateful and overwhelmed with appreciation for her effort in working with me to overcome my obstacles and become pregnant. I would 100% recommend the process to anyone struggling to become pregnant.

I recently experienced my first session of Shiatsu with Neta and I was totally wowed. Neta was extremely gentle but also effective. And she has a lovely, calm energy that puts you at ease instantly.
Neta is equal blend skilful practitioner and compassionate friend. I came away from our session together feeling fantastic physically and emotionally. I can’t wait to visit her again!

Angie O’Sullivan is easily one of the best Acupuncturists I’ve come across. She’s a thorough professional and has a very nurturing presence. She takes time to listen, converse, diagnose and treat. She treated me for acid reflux and I saw definite improvement. She also recommended several useful supplements, suggested dietary changes and referred me to a Naturopath which has tremendously helped me.
Angie is the BEST!

Loved Katy most of the time she included some hands on body work maybe 5 – 10 minutes and was conscientious about how she did things. Caring and personal.
Anna — very bright mind, leader, 7 needles in and 30 minutes later out.
Angie — very clean and conscientious, rarely a massage, needling is better than when I first saw her.
Again remember they are acupuncturists — not much with herbs.
Helped.
I like community acupuncture clinics to supplement their care and my wallet!

People, brace yourselves. This review is not for the squeamish. You see, it’s about my lady parts. You know, my Baby Bed… My lady junk. My STUFF. If you are a man and the thought of blood and vaginal anything scares you, you should leave now. We’ll give you a minute. Go on now, git.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I came to Lokahi with the hope that it could fix my hormone imbalance which was causing me to not to ovulate, then have 18 day periods and out of control bleeding. My medical doctors tried putting me on synthetic hormones which just f-​ed me up even more. Plus they had grand ideas of invasive biospies and were already whispering the C-​word under their breath (that’s cancer, yo). I’d heard from a close friend with similar symptoms that acupunture fixed her right up, so I thought I’d give it a try.
I’m now in my fourth month of treatment and I have the cycles that I had 15 years ago: four day periods, light bleeding, normal ovulation. It took years to develop my imbalance, so I could not have imagined it fixed that fast. Amazing!
I started by seeing Angie O’Sullivan on a weekly basis and she tried different points each time depending on where I was in my cycle. She is gentle and kind, a great listener and perfect for the task. She also knew just what points to tweak to make a difference.
After three months, when my cycle started to regulate, we switched to appointments twice a month. So far so good.
It is so worth it to me to have found a solution that isn’t faux hormones or a hysterectomy. I want to keep my lady junk, thank you very much. Plus, I don’t think you should listen to people who try to convince you that hormone imbalances are just part of the natural process of letting your ovaries turn to dust. F-​those people and get yourself to Lokahi.
One more tip, Lokahi tells you upfront that they will charge you for missed appointments. I get that sometimes it can be hard to be in at the right place at the right time. I have found them EXTREMELY accommodating when I’ve called them at the last minute to let know I can’t make it and needed to reschedule. It’s called good manners, people, and as long as you practice them you will be fine.
One last thing. I hate needles. What the hell. I can do this and so can you.

I went to Lokahi and had a really wonderful experience! Anna helped me through my 4^th miscarriage, led me through some testing, and 2 months later I was pregnant. I had a normal and great pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby at 40 weeks! I couldn’t have done it without Lokahi!

I LOVE this place!
Pregnant mamas, I highly recommend coming in if you’re trying to speed up your labor process. I came in the day before my due date around 2pm and ended up having my son the next morning.
The staff is wonderful and they create a relaxing experience. Recently, I went in for a sinus infection. My symptoms have cleared up and I am feeling great!

My overall experience at Lokahi was interesting — I had many forms to sign, more than any other acupuncturist I’d been to. On my first appointment, they some how forgot to book me into the system. I ended up waiting over 3hours to be seen. This was my very first-​ever acupuncturist session and I didn’t want to reschedule because I had waited nearly a month in anticipation of this day. They were able to see me later that day around 3 hours after my initial appointment was scheduled and they gave me a small discount on my first appointment. They were very sorry that they had made a scheduling error.
Fast forward, I missed an appointment at Lokahi and I received a bill in the mail for the session. So beware, don’t miss your appointment. I would have continued to give them my business, but this bill coupled with the fact that they were so late with my first appointment has caused me to seek other places.
