Learning To Succeed

Staff seems very unorganized. Filled out all the paperwork. I call back and they have no idea who I am. They send me the paperwork again and again, they never respond. I finally call and ask what is the turnaround time with all the paperwork and they tell me they are no longer accepting patients, sorry about that. Wow. This place is weird.

I have noticed mixed reviews of LTS, but I thought I would share my experience. The SLP business is one where there is no unemployment. For every SLP there are ten jobs. LTS does a good job of keeping therapists in the office, and providing inexpensive services to clients. I have experienced the high turn over. It exists. I have experienced the occasional difficulty with a therapist. I had one yell at me once. The bottom line is that there really isn’t anyplace better to go that is going to treat your child for $ 10 or whatever your co-​pay is on your insurance. The front office staff is also exceptional about getting those insurance approvals, so you don’t have huge out of picket costs. With that in mind, I can truthfully say my experience at LTS is worth every penny I have paid for it. I get a real licensed therapist to treat my child, and I pay virtually nothing for the therapy. They are also putting together group programs that seem reasonably priced. For the people who rate them one or two stars, show me the alternative that is better. I surely have not found one yet.

I’m disappointed with this clinic. We’ve been going there for just under a year, and my daughter has had three different speech therapists. For some kids that’s probably fine, but my daughter takes time to adjust to new providers, so it’s been a lot of transition. When our first (and best) therapist left this spring, no one from the clinic contacted me to get her set up with a new therapist. I had to keep calling and leaving messages. When they finally got back to me, they said were full, as they had just lost about half of their therapists, so I was put on a wait list. We finally got in to see someone 6 weeks later. That person could only see her once a week, so we started with a different therapist the other day each week. She was great, but then she left the company about 2 months later! So much turnover! I think Learning to Succeed has many strengths and some quality therapists, and I’m sure they are well intentioned in wanting to help kids, but I’m frustrated with all the changes. We are considering other options at this point.

This is a mixed review. My son received therapy for about 6 months here. We did see a couple different therapists, but they were all professionals. We took the summer off and headed back to therapy last week and saw a very good therapist. Today we showed up and were told we did not have an appointment and that there were no appointments… at any time… in the future.
Ok then, we’ll be taking our business elsewhere!

Office lacks organization and any idea about customer service. As another reviewer mentions, we never had the same therapist twice. Apparently they keep leaving the organization. Our appointments were often cancelled at the last minute. They consistently got our appointment times wrong. Not a good experience.

I took my now three year old daughter to Learning to Succeed from January 2015-​August 2015. During that time we had 4 different therapists and a 6 week period where there was no therapist available for us. This was very disruptive to my daughter’s progress, yet when I asked how I could get a more permanent therapist the receptionist told me I may be happier elsewhere.
The receptionists (with the exception of Marissa) were consistently rude. They once called me to inform me in three minutes I would be late for my appointment. I was in the parking lot and had no history of lateness.
Our fourth and final therapist was the reason I finally withdrew my daughter from learning to succeed. My daughter had become extremely anxious and did not want to participate in her sessions. She consistently asked for her previous therapists. I asked the therapist what I could do to help her and she said that I was causing my daughter’s anxiety by offering her rewards trying. She also said that her speech delay was due to me favoring my infant, that I arranged care for 3 months prior, as soon as she was able to walk and became a distraction for my older child. She had also not read my daughter’s file which stated she had an oral surgery for being tongue tied the month before.
I withdrew her 3.5 weeks ago and they still have not given me her discharge paperwork despite the 5 phone calls I have made. Dahlia told me she would send it to my pediatrician, but she would email it to me later «because she had other things to do.»
I am writing this review because I voiced my concerns with the owner, Melanie, last spring and again via email today.
Updated to add: Melanie emailed me back saying the therapist who was so offensive is no longer working there and they restructured the office staff. I received her discharge paperwork as well (3.5 weeks after she was withdrawn). She was very understanding and professional, but we will not be going back.

After talking to our pediatrician about our concerns with our 3-​year old daughters speech, we visited Learning to Succeed for an evaluation and then for speech therapy sessions. We have liked each of the speech therapists we have had. Each one was professional and seemed knowledgeable and my daughter definitely made progress while we were there.
It is also definitely a plus that our insurance company covered our visits at Learning to Succeed.
However, Learning to Succeed has had some significant turnover of their speech therapists. Around May 2015, they lost about half of their speech therapists. During that time, we lost our speech therapist and it was very difficult to make appointments and see other therapists because they were so short-​staffed. We started at Learning to Succeed in March 2015 and it is now August 2015. In those five months, we have had three different permanent speech therapists and that doesn’t include the 6-​week timeframe in May-​June where we were seeing anyone who was available. Not sure why their turnover is so high, but it is unfortunate, as each time my daughter has to get used to a new speech therapist and the therapist has to get to know her too.
At this point, we have qualified for services through our school district, so we are going to try that for awhile. Otherwise, I would consider looking for other speech therapy places to see if their turnover was any better.

From the second we walked in this office door they welcomed my daughter with such open arms. This place is very professional with yet so much love for all their clients. My daughter is eager to come to her speech therapy session every time. Her therapist Katarina, really gets my daughter and her needs. The office staff are are very friendly and kind with all their clients no matter what special need they might have, and that really exudes acceptance and inclusion. Thank you so much for all you do. Us parents really appreciate it and please know it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Great place! Marissa and their front desk staff are very helpful and always make sure everyone is taken care off. Your child is in great hands with their friendly therapists who are always so nice. I would def recommend this place.

My 3 years-​old son has been going there for speech therapy for about 3 months now. once or twice a week. He love to go there, and we can see some good improvements. Jill is wonderful and very experienced speech therapist. my son is a different person with her. Their staff is nice and help you work with insurance. I guess the only thing I am concerning is the therapy session is only half hour, not a whole hour.

My son has been going to speech here since August. I have to say from the first call to the first appointment I was very impressed. They got me the information I needed to start services up for him really quick. I was expecting at least a month before we would actually get the first appointment, but nope we were in by the next week and had the future appointments schedule for regular sessions. Everyone in the office from the directors, receptionist, to each therapist make a point to acknowledge each child as they come in and as they leave. THey actually stop try to interact with the childrens talk to parents genuinely. My son really looks forward to going to speech now too. They answer your questions and are very helpful. If your session happens to fall on a holiday they will do there best to make up that session for you, instead of canceling out and you being out of luck (this totally surprised me). I’m so glad we found Learning to Succeed thanks to our Dr, cause the other place was terrible, but here at Learning to Succeed I highly recommend to anyone and everyone

What a warm and caring place. My autistic son has made notable progress in his speech therapy since adding Learning to Succeed to his regimen of services over a year ago. Not only that, but they go above and beyond to work with my insurance because helping children really is their number one goal. This company puts the needs of the child first and is expanding in its therapists to serve more clients. My child has seen some turnover in therapists due to rapid growth, but each new therapist is trained and supervised by the senior staff therapist to make sure the standards of Learning to Succeed remain consistent and high even when a turnover occasionally happens. The fact that I am still happy with my son’s progress and he still enjoys going despite the turnover he experienced, says allot about their commitment to hire quality speech professionals. I can’t say enough good things about the heart and soul of this company.

My son has been receiving serivces for about 2 months now and I am so happy to have found them. He loves his instuctor Sheena and all of the staff. This has been a very emotional process for me as a single mom and everyone at Learning to Succeed has not only gone above and beyond to help handle my insurance company and been so positive and supportive to both of us. My sons need for speech therapy is now a blessing in disguise. Highly recommended to any parent whos child needs a little extra help in this area.
