Cheri E. Michaelis is an attorney with over 19 years of experience practicing law in the Bay Area. She received her Bachelor’s degree from UCLA, where she graduated cum laude and received division honors. Cheri obtained her Juris Doctor degree from UC Hastings College of the Law and is completing her LLM in Taxation at Golden Gate University. In recognition of her legal work in the community, Cheri was awarded the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro-​Bono Legal Services by the California Board of Governors.

After graduating from UC Hastings and passing the California State Bar in 1995, Cheri worked at prominent Bay Area legal and accounting firms, including Mohler, Nixon & Williams and Legacy Planning Law Group where she specialized in taxation, trust and estate law and real property. Cheri’s law practice focuses on advising families, individuals, and business owners in estate planning, real property, probate, tax, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, LLCs and trust administration.

The original attorney our family used never transferred our home into our trust claiming it wasn’t included in scope of work. Every other attorney I’ve talked with since has said it’s always included so I contacted Cheri and she helped us prepare the deed and took care of filing all the paperwork. She was easy to work with and took care of everything for me in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend her for estate planning services.
Now that we are past that I’m going to have her review the trust I have just to make sure the other attorney didn’t miss anything else.
