It was a wonderful time here. The service was great, price was acceptable and all the employees was so nice to me, i helped me choose the color that looked perfect on me. People should give a try here.

I’ve had gel acrylics for years and Ginger is by far the best! I stumbled across La Vie when my go to nail lady was booked. Every time I go to La Vie it’s perfect, from the friendly staff, laid back atmosphere, and clean salon. La Vie is so good that my boyfriend comes with me to get a pedicure and manicure too! (Could also be the bar next door) Daniel is hilarious and gives the best pedicures too!

I give this place one star, because the staff was very rude when and my experience was not good. I went in for a mani pedi and felt pressured to be up sold on things I know I didn’t want. I brought in my own color for specific reason and they told me I was not allowed to put a gel top coat on because my clear coat would crack. However I’ve done this many times before and never had it crack. They also made my finger bleeds because they cut the nail too short. When it came to my pedicure, they didn’t use any cuticle softening cream so it hurt like hell as they push the cuticles back. I also noticed when I got home that they did not finish cleaning out the nail bed. So I ended up having to do the work. Highly recommend not going here

Late review. Ginger is seriously the best. She did my nails for the Star Wars premier and they were absolutely awesome. Everyone has been complementing them

The BEST!!! Super clean salon and the most friendly staff. I will never go to another place to get my nails done!!! Reasonably priced as well. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!!!

Today was my first time here, LA Vie was recommended to me when I complimented a ladys nails that had come into my place of employment. She also recommended Ginger specifically. I called to see if I could get in, this was just a couple of days before Christmas, and I was trying to get in before. Ginger set up an appt for me on CHRISTMAS EVE!
I requested a galaxy pattern for my nails and she did a fantastic job! The price was great too! I have found a new nail spot :)

Love getting my nails done here! I always forget to set up an appointment before I come in but they are still so welcoming. The girls are really nice and Linh is fantastic at what she does. If you get a set, Linh makes it look so thin and natural.

Highly recommend! This was the last nail salon I went to in the South Bay area before moving and I left wishing I had discovered them sooner. The folks here are top-​notch nail artists and great conversationalists. I will definitely visit if/​when I’m in the area and in need of a great mani-​pedi.

Went for the first time the other day to get a pedicure, and was very happy with the result. I was lucky enough to get my foot rub and clean up done by Daniel who took a lot of time for that and did wonderfully. Then another lady did my French nails and they still look perfectly two weeks later now.
My sister and I didn’t read thoroughly enough and thought we’d get Mimosas any day ;) But that’s only on Sundays so we will be back for that!

An amazing job done by Ginger for my first visit here, even though it was a last minute appointment because of how hard it was to find a shop that knows how to shape and not rush. But I was just glad they were able to take me in.
I got a full set exactly the way I wanted. I’m glad I found this place. Will be returning for sure.

Back again with my new set for my first fill. Michele used pink acrylic across my whole nail. I haven’t had that before but she was right, I have no yellowing even on the tips… I usually get staining under my nails from my foundation. Not anymore. I love it.

I must have gone on an off day based on the reviews I read.
Please know that I’ve been getting my nails done for 20 years and have a taste for quality work and experience. Basically– trust me when I say I know what I’m talking about.
The owners and front desk were friendly (reason for the 2 stars) but the poor quality of work and overall experience was just odd.
And for $ 50 for a gel shellac and ombré design I won’t be going back.
First– unless the front desk guy had a medical condition I was unaware of– he reeked of weed. He was super sweet though.
Second, one of the nail ladies was getting her hair dyed from the salon next door. How do I know? Because she was giving someone a pedicure while she had dye in her hair.
I think common sense for any business owner went out the window here.
Next, the quality of the work which is the most important. Shaping was a bit of an issue but she ultimately got it. However, the actual putting on the acrylic was no technique like I’ve seen before. The acrylic was chunky on some versus others. Granted I know you have to wait until you get closer to the end– but I knew from that moment this was going to be difficult. Towards the end the acrylic started lifting and I noticed she had to go back on a few and put more acrylic on some spots she missed. The final result wasn’t exemplary by any means. Just look at the pic. The gel is not cleaned up around the edges at all and it just looks sloppy.
Lastly, an older gentleman from the dive bar next door came in the shop and obviously knew everyone. But what was weird was he went into one of the drawers of the technicians desk grabbed something and then came over to my technician. Rubbed her back and asked if she was ok. Freaking weird experience.
My hunt for a nail salon in the Bay Area continues.

Another great experience at La Vie!
I went in yesterday for a mani and pedi and got the best treatment!
Anthony, who works at the front desk, greeted me with a big smile and immediately offered me a drink. How often do you get offered a drink from a salon these days? In my experience, it’s rare.
Lynn did my pedicure. She kept asking if I wanted my nails shorter, if the shape looked good and would always make eye contact to make sure I was happy with what she was doing. One nail was longer than I liked but as soon as I said something she fixed it. My pedi ended up so beautiful!
My gel manicure was done by Ginger because I requested her. I had a specific nail design in mind and she is excellent at designs. Plus, I love chatting with her. She did the design better than I had in mind!!!
I couldn’t be happier with my nails and La Vie! There weren’t any flaws. La Vie has me as a loyal customer for as long as I get my nails done.

I am always hesitant to try new nail salons, but after reading the stellar reviews on Unilocal!I wanted to give this place a try.
I called in the morning to make an appointment (same day) and I’m glad I did, for 1:30 on a weekday they were busy!
The receptionist, Anthony was very friendly recommended colors and showed me some new options I would not have considered. My nail technician, I did not catch her name, was fantastic! She took extra special care on an ingrown toenail, and made it feel much better.
I will definitely be back! Thanks for the relaxing afternoon!

I can’t even begin to explain how great the customer service is here!
Since I’ve worked in with the public for a long time, I am very analytical of how good service is. They are phenomenal people and they have always done a great job on my nails.
I brought a friend here, even though I had only been here once before, and we had a great time.
We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this nail salon. Ginger and Daniel are the absolute sweetest. I came to Ginger with a butterfly design I wanted on my nails that was difficult. She was so patient and kind. She tried her hardest and my nails came out amazing! Everyone asks where I got them done. She’s so sweet to talk to also. The staff here really goes above and beyond for their clients. They prove they care.
Also they had cake for one of the other employees birthdays the other day. I loved it! Not only because they shared a piece with me, but becauae they really care about each other and the atmosphere of the salon. I’ve been to places with so much tension that its awkward. This salon however is amazing all around!
If you’re not coming here, then you’re making a mistake :) lol. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with them. I’m so glad I did and I’ll keep going back. This place is definitely a gem.

Nail salons are a dime a dozen in San Jose, but La Vie is one of those places that wins you over with impeccable customer service. Everyone on Unilocal speaks highly of their service and they are not wrong. These guys really know how to pamper and treat their customers.
My sister and I stopped by on Sunday and we were served mimosas. The atmosphere in the salon is so welcoming and friendly. We got the classic pedicure and shellac manicure — both were reasonably priced.
Since it was the first time I was getting a manicure and pedicure, Daniel & his staff were exceptionally patient. I made a couple of blunders such as pulling my hands out of the UV lamp and nicking the polish, but everyone is so friendly and fixed it without making a fuss. They are very detail-​oriented in their work and aimed for perfection when it came down to my nails. If it didn’t look right, they wiped it clean and started over.
Shout outs to Daniel, Linh, and Ginger! Thanks for the awesome service — I will definitely return.

I don’t post reviews very often, because I see no reason to waste my time writing, unless the service is exceptional. Daniel and his crew definitely deserve my praises. I took my sister for her first manicure and pedicure today and I have to say I am blown away by how attentive and friendly everyone were. The salon was very clean and decorated with beautiful fresh flowers that made the place smell so wonderfully sweet. Daniel is so personable and funny too! I felt very comfortable being able to relax and enjoy my afternoon there.
My sister really enjoyed her first experience here as well. We were both impressed by how lovely both of our nails came out. Linh did my nails and it is super cute! I can’t stop looking at them! She was very meticulous and knew exactly how to pair the right design with the colors I wanted. My sister had a very specific design she wanted to try and Ginger was able to replicate the art very nicely. And girls, the price really does not get any better than this with the quality of service they provide.
Another thing I want to note is they offer quality products here, O.P.I. and Essie to name a few. So you are paying for quality product with exceptional service which is difficult to find. I live pretty far away from the salon but the trip is well worth it and I will be coming back again for the amazing pampering experience.

Best prices, best customer experience, my technician was a perfectionist. They offer water, the guy who welcomes you when you come tried on the polish before I decided.. that’s awesome. Sundays they have champagne.
I got shellac, as you know shellac is not cheap. This place charged $ 25. The nails came out better then those expensive spas. This is my new go to spot! Maybe I shouldn’t write this review since it might get to packed when I want to come in.
