Kishiyama Jeffrey L MD – Allergy & Asthma Associates

allergy season galore! i have year round allergies and hives for the past 19 years, yay me! my coworkers finally convinced me to see an allergist, partly because they were probably annoyed i was sniffling and sneezing ²⁴⁄₇ (pollen atmosphere in my work area is crazy!).
i got my appointment for the week after i called, partly since i needed to go 72 hours without any antihistamines, pure torture! i was ready for my appointment yesterday in full allergy gear.
I didn’t have to wait long, and was glad they told me of the website to fill out my new patient forms beforehand. the facility is quite large and welcoming. the nurse and Dr. Kishiyama seemed understanding when I said I didn’t want to take any tests at the time since I was in a high deductible plan, meaning everything would be out of pocket for me.
I had my list of my allergy history and symptoms for Dr. Kishiyama so I wouldn’t forget a thing. I’m sure it was overwhelming, but he took it all in, and did the usual check up on me and asked me questions about my history and current allergy situation.
He seems like a no-​nonsense, no BS kind of guy, which is good although I was intimidated at times. :) he explained everything thoroughly and how to help prevent my future allergy/​hives attacks.
he gave me samples of a nose spray and eye drops yesterday, along with a prescription, and i feel like im back to myself. as soon as i used the nose spray, i could finally breathe and slept well for the first time in weeks!

I highly recommend him too (and appreciate what he’s done for me so far). He’s thorough, good at explaining things, good at following up when necessary, and has not led me down that road of «am I sure I can trust this guy?» at all.

I went to Dr. Kishiyama with severe sinus and allergy related issues. I really appreciated his approach of finding out all the relevant background before trying to treat me. Other doctors I have seen have just prescribed stuff right away without seeing what was really going on. After my first visit, he ordered a CT scan and some blood tests to see the whole picture. When he saw the severity of my sinusitis, he referred me to an EXCELLENT sinus specialist and was kind enough to email him and give him background information on me so the doctor would have an idea of what to expect. I would highly recommend Dr. Kishiyama.
