We specialize in excellent care for all our patients. We recently acquired a dental laser which can treat both the teeth and the gums. Two great things about the laser is dentistry is much more comfortable when we use it. In fact, most procedures can be done with little or no anesthetic. The laser also lessens or eliminates the need to use the dental drill. We are proud to offer this technology to our patients.

Dr. Loos enjoys scuba diving, watching suspenseful movies, eating chocolate, reading novels, exercising, and spending time with her family. She was raised in Sunnyvale, California.

I wish I could give this place a 0. Big waste of our company’s time. The Dr. and her staff member have solicited my place of employment several times bringing gifts and talking about the services. They seemed nice and knowledgeable until I called to schedule a couple weeks ago.
The person who answered the phone had no phone etiquette & did not know what she was doing. I was put on hold at least 3 times or should I say every time I had a question. We can just say this left me feeling more nervous than I already am when it comes time to see the dentist. Now I understand why they have to bring gifts to lure people in.

very bizarre advertising. she sent this letter via snail mail:
«ARE YOU TOO BUSY TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!
I’m sending a worry doll with this letter because I’m worried about you. In two previous letters, I have invited to take advantage of an outrageous offer to get back on track with your oral health and get the smile you deserve. The people who have taken me up on the offer have been extremely happy. I don’t want you to lose out, but if we don’t hear from you within 14 days, we must withdraw this exciting opportunity.
By accepting my offer, how many of these benefits would help you in your business? Personally?:
–Increased confidence in your smile– making it easier to create the relationships you so desire…»
it goes on from there, offering an exam, x-​rays, cleaning and teeth whitening for $ 147 (regular price $ 527), but i was a little creeped out by the aggressiveness. i understand dentists face strong competition and need to stand out from the pack, which is what dr loos was surely intending. but the letter seemed vaguely threatening to me.
oh well, free worry doll!

I used to dread going to the dentist until I found Dr. Loos. For twelve years now, my family and I have been seeing her at least two times a year, and we all don’t mind the visit. She and her staff will make your smile prettier with as little pain as possible.
Dr. Loos is a perfectionist, and she listens to your concerns and provides suggestions on how to make your smile prettier. Cheryll, the dental hygienist, quickly cleans your teeth and with ease. Sandra, the office administrator, is always courteous with future appointments and bill payments. Michelle is quite funny and a great addition to Dr. Loos’ staff.
The office specializes in cosmetic dentistry. AND they’re great with the little ones. During a recent visit, my five-​year-​old had two cavities. Dr. Loos used a shot-​free approach by using LASER technology to remove the cavities. Can you believe it? No shots? I was skeptical, but after the cavity removal, my daughter said the following, «Mommy, I have two favorite places on earth: Disneyland and Dr. Loos’ office.» The abundance of fruit juice in the front lobby’s refrigerator, the Beauty and the Beast movie during the teeth cleaning process, the free Disney-​themed toothbrush and floss, and finally the free toys and stickers from the office goodie box will definitely make anyone’s day a happy day even at the dentist office (and even during a cavity removal)!
Dr. Loos is a great dentist, and I highly recommend her work. Fellow Unilocalers, please check her out!

I have been with Dr. Loos for over10 years. That is definitely a long-​term relationship. Some marriages do not even survive that long. If she did not do great work, or she or her office staff was not nice, our relationship would not have lasted that long.
I’d moved and changed jobs a few times since I started seeing Dr. Loos. My dentist has always been the constant. Unfortunately when I was growing up I did not have the best teeth. By the time I started seeing Dr. Loos, the old dental work started falling apart on me. Therefore I had a lot of fillings and crowns re-​done by her. I even had to get oral surgery twice to get two tooth implants installed. Dr. Loos referred me to Dr. Kim (see my other review on him) and he is another great dentist.
Dr. Loos is very patient and gave good advice. She is not pushy like some other dentist I had seen prior to seeing her. She worked with me based on my budget and schedule to get all the necessary dental work done. Also she does not over book like some other dentists so I never have to wait for my appointment when I go to see her. She teaches at the dental school in SF so you can be rest assured that she is always up to date on the latest technology and development in her field. Over the years she has become a friend to me and sometimes she even emailed me to make sure I was doing o.k.
After all these years, now my teeth are doing great and look great. I don’t need to go to her office as often; mostly just to go there for the regular teeth cleaning appointments. All her office staff is very nice and helpful too.

I would be a little careful of these guys billing practices. Prior to having my first procedure done with them the receptionist in a very matter of fact way told me 50−75% of the services would be covered by my insurance — this was after she had contacted my insurance on my behalf regarding coverage. She never implied or slightly suggested she wasn’t sure what would have or have not been covered.
After the services were performed and I got the bill, a very small percentage was actually covered — she immediately said she didn’t have access to what would be covered and had no way of knowing. What?
I can live with a small amount being covered but she should have said that on the front end rather than leading me to believe something else. I feel like she misled me just to have the service get done or at least that is the impression I got.
Needless to say, won’t be using their services again.

I’ve been seeing Kim for over 10 years. I even drove all the way from San Francisco for a few years to continue in her care and now drive from Redwood City. Not only is she a warm person and a great dentist, she is completely trustworthy and works with you to make any big dental work as affordable for you as possible. For example, when I wanted to replace all my amalgam fillings (which were almost 20 years old), she provided excellent counsel. She told me that although my fillings were older than they usually last, they were still in good shape and I could put off the repairs. She also worked out a schedule so I could get the most insurance reimbursement possible for the work.
