Karen was AMAZING!!! I don’t know if I’ve ever loved my hair so much. I came in with dead ends, outgrown roots, and hair falling out due to some medical issues. Karen took her time to make sure she didn’t damage my hair as she made me beautiful again. LOVE her and her work. Will definitely be returning!

This is long over due! Karen is absolutely wonderful. She’s a perfectionist… which I loved. Because she wouldn’t stop until it looked perfect. I love my extensions and would recommend to anyone!

Karen did a great job with my hair color. I appreciated that she took the time to style and curl it at the end, which was fun because I haven’t curled my hair in years. Would definitely recommend her. It sounds like she is used to working with all different hair types.

It’s always fun to come to Karen’s to get my hair done. She is a great professional and very funny. It makes the time go by fast.

Karen is PHENOMENAL. I bought a LivingSocial voucher for highlights, blow-​dry, etc., but she wound up creating a GORGEOUS shade of red for me instead of the highlights (I was a little too scared to bleach my hair). She is funny, intelligent, and impressively good at what she does. I’ve also never been able to get my hair to be as straight (yes, even with a straightener) as she did with her blow drying skills! Karen made my first time getting my hair professionally done not only comfortable and enjoyable, but also educational. I meant to write this review several months ago, but anyway. Karen is an exceptional hairstylist, she listens to what you want and then makes realistic suggestions. I have a lot of hair, but she took her time and my hair turned out fabulous. You wont be disappointed!!!

Karen was wonderful! She really takes her time and listens to what you want. She’s an amazing colorist — I absolutely love how my hair turned out.
She also understands curly hair and will color/​cut accordingly, as well as recommend how to take care of it best. Looking forward to a keratin treatment in a month and would definitely recommend her!

I went to Karen last week to color my hair (first time!) from blonde to red. She was really great at explaining the color options to me, and since I was a total newbie, she talked to me about the differences between semi-​permanent, permanent, etc. I felt totally comfortable handing the reigns over to her and letting her make some of the bigger color decisions. I went with a semi-​permanent option, and she mixed me up the perfect color– I couldn’t be happier! She even waxed and colored my eyebrows afterwards so that my blonde eyebrows wouldn’t look totally weird and out of place. I will definitely be going back as well as recommending to friends! I could not be happier if I tried. I just moved to the area and I have been on the look-​out for a hairdresser. Karen understood my needs perfectly, and took the time to really work through my hair (I have a lot of it) and cut and styled it properly. I super excited about my hair and I will definitely go back now when I have found someone who really can do the job. I could not recommend Karen more.

I came across her on Unilocal and I’m soooo happy I went to get my extensions done by her. She did a phenomenal job and totally went out of her way to make sure I liked my extensions. She met me at two different places to purchase hair but I ended up using my own extensions that I had. She took the clips off and converted them into wefts so I didn’t have to spend money on new hair. I made an evening appointment and she stayed till late to make sure I was satisfied with how my hair came out. I highly recommend her! :) She’s very super sweet and very talented.

I have been going to Karen for 9 years and she does a fabulous job on my hair. She knows what will work for my low maintenance personality and won’t let me take on something that won’t work. She is patient and very good.

I’ve been a client of Karen’s for a very long time… including that questionable blond phase… clearly should’ve listened to her about THAT color job! Anyway… visited her at her new, very cool, salon in DTWG for a color correction and cut. Karen took me from a boring brunette with blond highlights to a hot, sexy brunette with caramel highlights and since then, have received NUMEROUS compliments from co-​workers and strangers… you know you look good when people you don’t even know call you out! Her new «home» is right on Lincoln Avenue with plenty of parking on the street or in the lot next to Manley’s Donuts. She works around your schedule and is flexible and accommodating to your requests. Treat yourself to a beautification by Karen… her cuts are precise, she takes time with the blowouts, she knows her colors and what will look great on you!

I love my hair. I went to Karen for a keratin treatment, but she recommended a Brazilian blowout for my hair type and texture. I couldn’t be any happier. I love how my hair feels and looks. I got compliments from my family and friends. I will be going back to see Karen!

Karen is amazing! I’ve seen her twice now so it’s about time I wrote her a review. Words to describe Karen are honest, accommodating, comfortable, and reasonable.
For my first visit, I came in wanting an ombré for my friends wedding. She told me straight up that she would do it for me, but definitely wouldn’t recommend it. My hair was severely damaged since I burned a large portion of it and an ombré would have made it worse. Instead, she gave me some really pretty highlights that everyone loved and cut my hair in a way that would keep the length but make it appear healthier. The highlights were very soft and subtle. Even after a few months, they grew out nicely and you couldn’t even tell.
I just had my second visit with her, and I wanted to go all out. I decided I wanted to do an all-​over color that was purply reddish. I had many ideas in my head, even auburn, but really didn’t have a clue of what I wanted. We talked it out and she came up with this epic hair color concoction and it turned out beautifully! My hair looks extremely shiny and soft now and the color is stunning.
I totally recommend her. She is the kind of person that will make sure you get what you want when you come in. Even if it isn’t what you intended, she seriously knows what’s best. Thanks a lot!

Karen is fabulous! I have been looking for a good stylist for years and I’m so glad I found Karen. She cut, colored, and highlighted my hair and also gave me a Keratin treatment! My hair looks amazing and I love all the compliments that I’ve been receiving! Five-​stars aren’t enough!

Karen is a very knowledgeable stylist and did a fantastic job on my hair (see my before and after pix). First day at work and got compliments from the coffee shop and male/​female coworkers… I had my hair highlighted before meeting her (and trimmed) which I wasn’t 100% happy with so she made recommendations that made sense to me for my next treatment with her. I live about 30 miles away and work about 15 away and plan to work my future visits into my routine!

Amazing amazing amazing!!! Awesome with hair extensions. She does it all, I’ve been seeing her for years and there’s nothing she can’t do. If your looking for a new stylist Karen is someone you must see. Sola salon is in a great location and has a positive vibe plus you don’t have to search for parking.

Karen is an amazing stylist! She has been doing my hair for many years and she never disappoints! She is a master of color and cut… I constantly get compliments on how beautiful my highlights are and how great my cut is! My hair grows out beautifully too! She is a perfectionist and takes her time to make sure your hair is just right! If you are looking for a great cut and color, you must try Karen! And to top it off, she is a wonderful person and always a joy to talk to! 5 stars all the way!
