After completing lactation education with Breastfeeding Support Consultants and with UCSD, I earned my certification in 2012. In addition, I have a BA from SJSU in psychology.

My husband and I have three children whom I breastfed for a total of 8 years, 5 months, including 7 months of tandem nursing.

I worked with Julie on my breastfeeding issues recently and am so happy that I did. Not only is she well informed and experienced with breastfeeding, she’s happy to listen and provide relevant feedback. She spent a good hour and a half with me to show me different techniques and different tricks to soothe my baby in order to relax the both of us which in turn will create a better environment for latching. I am still working on having my baby latch, but have noticed great improvements after following her advice. I would recommend that anyone in the area contact Julie if they are having issues.

Julie was instrumental in helping me reach my breastfeeding goals as a first time parent. I needed help in increasing my milk supply when a friend referred Julie to me. Julie is a traveling lactation consultant which is helpful post delivery. Julie came to my home and assessed, analyzed, and generated a game plan to increase milk supply that also supported my personal needs. After the visit, we had a follow-​up call which Julie checked-​in on my progress. I recommend using Julie Tardos as your lactation consultant.
