Japan Karate-​do Ryobu-​kai (JKR) Northern California, Eishinkan Dojo is a small Cupertino based Karate Studio. We practice traditional karate with a focus on children and are dedicated to the needs of our students through the principles of self discipline, respect, focus, self confidence and perseverance. We are a non-​profit, martial arts studio with a well-​balanced emphasis on traditional karate and competition. History

Established in 2013.

In 2013, Eishinkan Dojo was established to take over as the Northern California branch of Japan Karate-​do Ryobu-​kai, one of the most respected Japanese karate organizations in the world. Eishinkan is also affiliated with USA Karate, the karate organization affiliated with the International Olympic Movement.

Meet the Business Owner

David K.

Business Owner

Sensei David is a 3rd degree black belt and has been studying karate since 1982. He established the Eishinkan Dojo in 2013 to serve as the Northern California branch of Japan Karate-​do Ryobu-​kai. He trained with the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in Chicago, London and Tokyo; and joined Japan Karate-​do Ryobu-​kai (JKR) in 2003. David has been the head coach for JKR Northern California since 2009 and is the lead instructor for the elite competition team. He has successfully coached junior and senior competitors to positions on the US National Team over two dozen times, and has assisted the US Team coaching staff at international competitions. His students have medalled in national and international competition at the junior and senior levels. He also serves as a Northern California Grassroots Development Coach and teaches seminars focused on preparation for both kata and kumite competition.
