Specialties
Jenna McDonald specializes in everything from puppyhood to aggressive dogs. Everyone from people who want to start their puppy off right, avoiding pitfalls as they go, to people who have a dog they’re having issues with — be it anxiety, aggression towards other dogs, aggression towards people, and so on – will find help. Jenna uses holistic methods, because in almost ten years of dog training she’s learned that different dogs and people work best with different approaches, and that no one approach works for ALL dogs. She books private sessions and runs a drop-in class for people who would like to practice their dog’s good manners in downtown Los Gatos, and the occasional one-shot class to learn and practice recall and dog park manners.
History
Established in 2001.
Jenna started training dogs as a hobby when she was in her teens, and was soon being asked to help neighbors with everything from teaching obedience to a deaf dog to nipping fear biting in the bud! In 2001, when she moved away to go to university, she was asked to help a gentleman with a human aggressive 125 pound shepherd, and re-trained it within a matter of days. Upon learning that all the other trainers had turned him down, and that many trainers won’t work with human aggression, she started doing it on the side. She worked under several other top dog trainers, learning everything she could, and started working with all sorts of dogs, puppies, owners, and issues. In 2009 she moved to San Jose from Southern California and re-started the business here. She quite enjoys the cooler climate and the more dog-friendly atmosphere — and her dogs, do, too!

Business Owner
Jenna has been training dogs since she was about nine, much to her mother’s chagrin, when she would bring home the stray she’d «trained.» Things only got worse from there, but luckily for everyone, now she gets paid for it!
