Iovana House Cleaning

First they were late, no call no email. I asked for them to pay extra attention to the floors and the bathrooms and kitchen. They did NOT mop the hardwood floors, they gave a very generic cleaning to the bathrooms, did not mop my kitchen, did not throw out the garbage, did not clean my shower (i left a test spot, they failed) it was not a good experience for the groupon deal. I was not happy. The house looked basically as I left it. Will not use them again.

I’ve been shopping around for a cleaning service and have tried multiple in the area. I found Iovana House Cleaning through a LivingSocial deal, 1 hour of cleaning with 3 people. I figured they would be extremely busy with the promotion, so I booked my appointment 2 months out in advance via email.
From the short and concisely worded email exchanges, I didn’t really know what to expect. We had a solid date and time and that was all. A week and a half before my appointment, I received an email asking for my address, so that was a good confirmation that they had my appointment on the books.
On the day of the appointment, I received a voicemail saying they were running early and would be half an hour early — no big deal. When I called back, I couldn’t leave a voicemail because the inbox was full. I called back again after a few minutes and was connected with someone, so that was also good.
I was so overwhelmed when the ladies arrived with vacuum cleaners (yes, two!), mop, and all the supplies in hand. Typically I ask for 1 cleaner to clean my small kitchen, bath and half bath in 2 – 3 hours so I wasn’t prepared for a small army. They were so fast they finished the requested areas in maybe 30 minutes and everything looked shiny and spotless! They also had time to vacuum and dust my living room, dining room, stairs, and clean out an extra minifridge and microwave.
The cleaners’ first language isn’t English, but they are nice and courteous. I’m extremely happy with the service and how fast it was. I think I’ve found my go-​to cleaning service!

If I could choose no stars as a rating I would! Booked through email couple months ago with using a living social coupon, called to confirm appt no answer and vm was full couldn’t leave a message so I emailed, no response! Having a grad party this weekend.. How unprofessional not to respond. Never had a cleaning service before and wanted to try them out. Needless to say I won’t be calling this company !

I bought a living social deal back in March and called immediately to schedule an appointment for May. A woman picked up the phone and scheduled for a 9am appointment and assured me that there would be 3 people coming to my house. The day of the scheduled cleaning comes around and no one shows up and no response.
I am currently requesting a refund for the money spent on the Livingsocial deal because I have since then hired another cleaning crew. I would NOT recommend this lady to anyone because you are essentially throwing your well earned money away.
Can you tell I am not a fan?

I bought a two-​hour cleaning through Living Social and redeemed it earlier this month.
I had really let my house go after buying the voucher and by the time I redeemed the voucher, I was actually quite embarrassed. My master shower specifically was something my husband and I have had a hard time keeping clean. We have used every product out there with little success. I was just ready to remodel. Iovana and her crew made my shower spotless. I may have thought about eating dinner in there it looked so good!
The rest of the house looked great as well. I was happy to see the attention to detail in all they cleaned — picture frames, baseboards, bookshelves… I had never hired a cleaning service before and really didn’t have any expectations. Frankly, anything they did would look a hell of a lot better than what I could do, or want to do, really.
Iovana responds to my emails within 24 hours, which is completely acceptable in business. She is working all day, too, and does not have opportunity to respond to emails immediately. I felt her correspondence was fine and did not feel there was ever any sort of miscommunication.
We’ve hired Iovana for a monthly cleaning and I can’t wait for her to come again!

If I’m giving a generous benefit of the doubt, this review might actually be a criticism of Groupon…
Iovana (et al?) turned out to be ludicrously unresponsive. We finally scheduled an appointment a month after I first attempted, when finally responded with:

Hot damn! That’s the most concrete response I got in over a month. So I followed up to confirm, and was told we were all set, but… she canceled an hour before the appointment.
OK, understandable. Things happen. So I tried rescheduling. Same song and dance… no response — then vague response — then random confirmation for ⁴⁄₄.
But what led me to write this review is that she just never showed. Emailed the morning of our appointment to ask for my address (again), and that was it. She never showed, never called, never emailed. Just… poof.

Disappointing on many levels! The appointment started off on the wrong foot when they were late. My appointment was scheduled for 3:30 and it was getting close to 4:00 and no sign of the cleaners. I called and left a voice-​mail and email and got a call back that they would be there in 5 minutes — no apology or anything.
Ok fine, they were late. As long as my house got cleaned I would be happy. Well I wasn’t happy.
My condo is small — approximately 900 square feet. With 2 people cleaning for 2 hours it should have been spotless. Not to mention that I had already cleaned the basic stuff so my house wasn’t starting off dirty. Iovana said they may be done early because of the size of my place. I specifically asked if they would clean baseboards and a folding door that hides my washer/​dryer. She said they would do all that and so much more.
I got home and my place was not clean at all. The door that I had asked about had a cloth brushed over it in one small area. The blinds they said they would clean were the same — still dirty. The kitchen counters were smudged and streaked and there was some weird greasy spray stuff on the microwave that wasn’t there when I left. I also found a few puddles of cleaning liquid sitting on my wood furniture. My boyfriend and I ended up spending over an hour just touching up all their streaks and messes. Overall very poor quality and sloppy work.
When I got back to meet them, they were all sitting around on their cell phones. That could have been time that they were spending cleaning since they cut my appointment short — I only got about 1.5 hours or less of sloppy house cleaning for my money.
Definitely not worth the money!

0 Stars if possible. No show. «Yes. We are confirmed.» I waited and waited but she never showed. She never answered calls or emails. Very unprofessional.

Overall experience with her and her staff was just ok. Most likely, I wont use her again even though they did a decent job cleaning. My biggest issue with her was that she only takes appt via email so sometimes I waited 2 – 3 days just to get her reply. My second house cleaing appt with her took me 2 weeks to set the date that worked for both of us. A little bit frustrating. I tried to call her but her phone was either no longer in service or went directly to voice mail…
Another issue with them (more towards her staff)… they are very rough on things. They broke my indoor plants on the kitchen counter, window blind rods, etc. Small things. but come on… You can imagine my big disappointment face when I found out after they left. Nonetheless, they did do a good job cleaning the house though.

Iovana housecleaning has been cleaning my house for about 3 months now. So far, they’ve done a very good job. They have not broken anything. I have cats that need to stay in specific areas of the house and they have been able to handle that. The cleaning is better than my previous two cleaners, not perfect, but better than average. I gave them a key so they just come every two weeks and I don’t have to worry about it. They did a very deep cleaning the first time which took three of them at least 4 hours. I paid them extra but they did not ask for it. I’m very pleased.

I bought a deal on one of those Groupon/​LivingSocial type sites. While the housecleaning is very good and I’m satisfied with that, it was a hassle to book an appointment. I booked a month in advance, and the day before she was scheduled to come to clean, I was told she couldn’t. Getting ahold of her is hard too because half of the time she does not pick up the phone and forgets to call back.

I got a Groupon for a deep clean with Iovana House Cleaning. We booked a cleaning time through email which was a smidge confusing due to language barrier but not a big deal at all. The day of the appt she was a bit late but called to say she would be which I think is professional and courteous, so that is okay.
She did a wonderful job. I was like a little kid on Christmas morning when I walked into my house after work, all locked up safe and sparkling clean. Even my couch and kitchen chairs upholstery were vacuumed in perfect lines. My calcified old coffee pot looked like it had been replaced with a brand new one, it was so clean. Everything felt so perfectly fresh and scrubbed and dusted. Even my wooden head board had been dusted. I was beyond satisfied with this Groupon and experience.
I absolutely recommend Iovana House cleaning! Only reason I am not using her for continued service is because she is bit out of my price range for a monthly service and my parents house keeper will do it for less. If she ever has another Groupon or deal I would snatch it up again!

Iovana and her crew were fast and friendly, and my place was spotless and shiny by the time they left. You should have seen what it looked like before they got there. I’ll definitely be using them again.

Really GREAT housekeeper!
We had a radically different experience than Cindy R. had. We ordered two of the one-​hour vouchers for deep cleaning from the now-​defunct Trubates.
My wife and I have a five-​month old baby and as you might expect, cleaning our 900 sq ft apartment went by the wayside for the most part. We were desperate for a «deep-​cleaning» as was advertised and that is EXACTLY what Iovana and her assistant delivered! We were truly AMAZED by what just two human beings were able to accomplish in two hours time!
We told them we wanted them to focus mostly on the kitchen and bathrooms, as we expected that might be all they could tackle in such a short time. We left them alone for the two hours (no supervision necessary, whatsoever) and when we came back to relieve them and give them a tip$, our jaws dropped at how beautiful they had transformed our shabby digs into a pristine and palatial abode. They not only totally cleaned both of our bathrooms and kitchen, but every other room in the house, as well. Even baby furniture was moved and replaced to thoroughly vacuum and dust in her nursery. Picture frames were removed, dusted, and replaced in our living room and our cat’s litter box was cleaned off and wiped down. Windows, mirrors, and glass table tops were cleaned to maximum shininess. The most impressive was our kitchen floor, which had suffered the worst neglect of the house… clean enough now to eat off of.
Although we used our vouchers up, we will definitely call Iovana the next time we need deep cleaning, as Iovana definitely delivers the goods!

Pretty lousy housekeeper.
1. Needs a lot of supervision.
2. Never keeps to the time. Tells me she will call me back in an hour and confirm a time and I never hear back from her.
3. I went ahead and book an appointment with her as that is the only time she has on her calendar and plan my whole day around it and she does not show up. Does not even bother to call.
Please don’t hire someone as unprofessional as this woman. She is neither cheap nor professional

Iovana was great! I hired her to clean my house after I saw her company was featured on Groupon. I called her and scheduled an appointment directly with her. She arrived with another lady and was very punctual and professional. Iovana spent a full two hours cleaning my house and I couldn’t be happier with the service she provided. Highly recommended!!!
