Harmony Solar

Harmony Solar has done two projects for us, a 5.2KW system in 2008 and a 5.7KW system this year. Both have worked flawlessly. Daryl Hutchings is a terrific contractor to work with. He is hands on, experienced, and honest. I have always felt that he is there to go to bat for me. As a certified Sunpower dealer, he is installing the best equipment. His crew is hard-​working, efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous.

Darryl Hutchings did our installation in 2003, and we’ve had no problems with the installation. We have replaced our inverter a few years ago (normal, I think), and recently had one panel fail. This was replaced by the manufacturer (BP), and the old one picked up, without a problem. Apparently, there is a design fault with this panel, so it may happen again, I guess. My husband and sons easily reinstalled the panel.
The system size was perfect — it covers all of our household electrical needs, with a few exceptions (when someone uses a space heater too much, e.g.) We bought a Chevy Volt early June, so we’ll have to see what costs that adds.
I was having trouble finding a working URL for Harmony; I’m glad to hear that he was still installing in 2013, per another review.

Harmony Solar did an install of a 4.3kw Sunpower system about 1yr ago.
Very professional. Even relocated some plumbing vents that are on the front of the house to the rear which makes things look much better.
No problems so far although I should have listened to Daryl and installed the larger system as we had a $ 435 pge bill at year end. He knows what he’s talking about so listen to him.
We’re hoping that replacing some old appliances might reduce/​eliminate our bill and at the same time perhaps improve our lives. However, I may have Daryl add an additional 4 panels to the system if we’re not trending that direction.
Daryl even modified his standard install at my request by using 6″ roof mounts which provides a larger gap between the panels and the roof. I requested this for two reasons, 1) keep the roof cooler in the summer and 2) squirrels building nests in the gap between the panels and the roof.

Harmony did a 4.5KW install for us about 8 years ago. They were very friendly, cost effective, and professional.
After 8 years of use, we’ve had zero problems. Recently we did some rewiring and Daryl came out and answered some questions we had (and didn’t even charge us for his time).
I’m a bit OCD with home improvement projects, so if there were ANY problems I’d definitely say something. All I can say is if I had another solar project I’d use Harmony without reservation.
