Brought my front wheel in from my 1985 Schwinn le tour to have the bearings repacked. John got the job done in record time and layed hands to heal this wounded wheel. I was very happy with his service and attitude. I am now back on the road and working my training. Muchos Gracias!

Great little shop, came in today to have my new fork cut, star nut and crown race installed: job was done really quick and for half the price bigger shops are asking! Will come back to my other bike projects.

Today I walked in and the owner John was very friendly. He put on two tubes and fixed two flats with tax and everything for around $ 35. I am very happy with the service I received. He also told me I should put air in my tires on a two week basis. I will definitely come back if I need bike repair done. It only too him half an hour how can you go wrong. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for a bike or parts or bike maintenance.

John is the best, i am not his paying costumer yet he goes out of his way to call and check to see if the bike i’m looking for is in stock. best service ever.

When you’re purchasing a used bike from a shop, you want to deal with someone who knows what they’re talking about, is honest, and has fair prices. Plan to spend a little more than you would on Craigslist, but remember, you’re dealing with someone who will stand behind the purchase.

John, the owner, is extremely competent and of good advice.

super friendly owner. i asked him a million and a half questions about my road bike and biking gear. wow so patient! I don’t get this kind of service in NYC shop where I got my bikes. I was in San Jose on a business trip and borrowed a bike from a friend. I needed adjustments done to fit my height and HTC was very close to where I was staying. John spent more than 40 minutes explaining everything to me and I’m not very bike savvy so he had to repeat the same information multiple times. I love his little dog who was just as friendly as his owner. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY 5 DAY WORK TRIP THAT MUCH MORE PLEASANT WHERE I CAN DECOMPRESS WITH RIDING A ROAD BIKE THAT WAS FITTED FOR ME. I have family and friends who live in San Jose. I already sent everyone there and one of my cousins even bought a great bike from John. NYC needs someone like John… oh well. I can’t have everything

I called to ask for prices over the phone and the person picking up the phone was very rude. I decided to go anyway because it was close and I just needed bike assembly. I went there and the man behind the counter was extremely rude. I decided it wasnt worth it and called a mobile bike shop out of almaden valley.

This shop looks very small but it is a very good place to get service for your bike. The owner, John is very friendly and you can get a new tire or tube put on very quickly – even a new wheel is pretty quick, and the price is right., probably because he doesn’t have as much overhead cost with employees and renting a large place. It is very convenient to get to. There are also bikes, both new and on consignment, here which seem to be reasonably priced.

Was looking to repair a flat on my Cruiser. Did a quick Unilocal search and found Happy Trails Cyclery a few miles from my home. I had no idea they were there.
Called Saturday afternoon and John (the owner) said to bring it by and he’d take care of it. Brought it down and John took care of it immediately. Nice small shop, very knowledgeable, and great service. John even through in a mini-​tune up at no extra charge. All in all, I was in and out in 20 minutes for $ 17.
I will definitely go to Happy Trails for any future bike needs. I highly recommend. Thanks John!

First time to this bike shop. My first impression was that it was small with limited bicycles. But the owner John was very helpful. I like to the personal attention he gave that you don’t get from a big bike shop. Being new to the area he recommend several the mountain bike trails and the difficulties levels. I’m currently looking for a bike for my fiancé he recommended a entry-​level mountain bike from his shop that was fairly priced. I’ll be frequent this shop with all my future biking needs.

Can’t say enough positive things about John and his bike shop. A few weeks back I was on a ride when I noticed my tire was leaking air. I checked it out and there it was, a huge shard of glass I had hit along the way. Not having a spare tube on me, I looked up the closest bike store in the direction I was heading. I was still about 6 miles from home when I found HTC, I explained my predicament to John and within minutes he had my bike on the stand, tire off, and tube replaced. In the midst of changing out my tube, I asked him about an issue I had with one of my pedals, and explained I believed it was a bad bearing (s). He agreed and suggested an upgrade to a better pedal, and installed those at the same time. I was able to get back on the bike and finish my ride home.
More recently, I inquired about a standard tune up and they were able to get me in same day, and within 2 days my bike was ready and riding as if it were brand new again. This is a great local bike shop, and I will continue to bring all my bikes here for the foreseeable future.

My first experience with HTC was a call at 6:38 PM, that went like this: me:
«What time do you guys close tonight?»
HTC: «7pm, what are you looking for?»
me: «I need some work on my bike, pedals swapped, and new cleats for my shoes.»
HTC: «Come on in, I’ll help you out tonight.»
me: «awesome, see you soon»
When I walked in, I was surprised to be greeted by the owner John. He was more than helpful, threw my mtb right onto the stand and got to work. After dialing in my bike, dropping some knowledge on places to ride, wrenching tips and tricks, and overall good conversation, I was out of there in 20 minutes. Simply put, this is a GREAT local bike shop owned and operated by a true enthusiast. Thanks again for the help!

Not impressed with the level of service. After paying over $ 150 on a tune up of my brakes, drive train, and chain… my brakes still squeaked and rubbed… front dérailleur dropped my chain multiple times, and the rear dérailleur missed shifts. I feel like I got TAKEN AND SCREWED by John and his bad level of service.

Great find, small shop that sells late model bikes at reseaonable prices. John is easy to talk to and repair/​tune-​ups at great rates!

I’ve lived in this area for 30 years and never noticed this shop until I was Unilocaling a place to take my bike for repairs. I was shocked when I found it is less than ½ mile from my house. Now that I have found the best bike shop in the area, I will never go anywhere else! John is great and makes everything so easy for the customer. What a great find! (oh yeah, my daughter loves his dog too. She always wants to go with me so she can pet him)

Today I brought in my Kona Stinky to have a new derailer and chain installed. The price for install was very reasonable. I picked up my bike within a few hours, and it rides perfect. I am all about supporting the small mom and pop shops. I will continue to take all my bikes to this shop.

Great service at a good price! My bike was reassembled within a few days. John replaced necessary pieces that needed replacing. Rides like new!
Thx John for putting my bike back together after 5yrs of being in a box in my garage! :o) I tested it out last night and it rode just fine. Hugs for Tiger dog!

Meant to review this place sooner, but haven’t gotten around to it. Long story short, I had two of my bikes sitting in storage for over three years. During this time they actually moved states twice. The chains were rusted and one of my bikes shifting switches (don’t know the technical term for this) was broken.
Took them into the shop and a week later I had my bikes cleaned, running and broken parts either fixed or replaced. New tubes and tires as well and it cost me under $ 100 for both of my mountain bikes. The person I spoke with both on the phone and in person was very nice, and even helped me carry my bikes into the shop and put them on my car when I picked them up.
The only downside is that I wish they were closer to me, but other than that it’s a great place if you need a bike tune up or work done.
