Hansens Moving & Storage

These guys are just plain crooks! They gave my 85 year old mother an estimate for moving the contents of her two bedroom condo to San Diego. Then they moved the contents of JUST ONE room and charged her the full amount which was several thousand dollars! When I called to complain/​discuss this with them, they essentially said «tough luck». No explanation. No remorse. Just really unethical businessmen.
Hire these guys AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Absolutely horrible. Some of the same complaints noted before.
— No supervision from the truck driver in charge (Hansen left after the first day). People who did not speak or understand a word of English wandering around.
— Truck driver made comments about my wife, and our items, and blamed us for the slow move.
— Price always kept going up when we wanted our items delivered.
— Always an excuse when we asked for the manifest. We never got one.
— We were never allowed to go to their warehouse, even though they initially said we could.
— They obviously have a vermin problem in the warehouse, many items smell of rat urine or dead rats (or other vermin).
— The stored our waterbed mattress with ¹⁄₃ of the water still in it, and dragged it through the dirt to get it to the truck and to our new house.
— They lost track of how many vaults we had.
— We are missing 30 – 40 boxes and some furniture, including some of our most cherished items (wedding album, High School pictures, wedding china and silverware, souvenirs of vacations).
— When asked where the other items were, Hansen blamed us for everything, and told us it is a felony to file a false claim.
— We had to file a police report.
He also moved another family we knew about the same time, and they were not happy either. How this guy has lasted in business is beyond me.

This experience was a nightmare. I have moved 9 times before with another mover and have never ever had a problem. This company and Jack, specifically, was soooooo disorganized and slow. We were moving from a 4,000 home to a 1,300 square foot home so there wasn’t much coming with us! First, he told me it wouldn’t be over $ 2500.00 (which was still high for moving 2 doors down). They started at 10:00 am and I started helping them about 4:00 when I realized they hadn’t even finish packing from the first house. They finally finished unloading at 11:00pm unloading. Oh my Gosh. And, he charged us $ 3366.00 for their incompetence. The workers were nice but slower than slow. They didn’t break anything and they shrink wrapped everything well but we got really ripped off and I am really disappointed and angry. I bought them lunch and they took breaks constantly. Since they really should have been done long before dinner, I didn’t buy them dinner. Also, Jack kept calling in different guys. 2 guys would come for an hour, then leave, and 1 more would come, then hed’ leave and two more would come. Really unorganized and the customer is forced to pay for it.
Definitely would not recommend ever. ever. ever.

Good and bad:
The bad: Our move was scheduled for a Sunday at 10:00 a.m. At 10:45 a.m. I received a call from them saying they wouldn’t be there until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. They didn’t make it to our place until 4:30 p.m., at which point my entire schedule was a mess. Very frustrating! Also, poor communication, sometimes they did not call back for days.
The good: the guys who moved us were extremely polite and professional. They worked hard, were careful of all our items, were efficient, and pleasantly followed all of our requests.
Also, charges were exactly as they verbally estimated.

Jack Hansen you saved us! The mover is legit and honest!

The best! They saved us from a moving disaster, and getting all our stuff moved and probably stolen by shady movers. They arrived on time, stayed until it was all done, and got our stuff from CA to ID on time. I am eternally grateful that I found them. They are absolutely the best.

Rude movers who refused to stop blocking cars in an apartment complex. Had to call police to get them to move because they refused.

Hansen Moving is the best. I’ve used them for three residential moves and each time they were polite, punctual, efficient and very careful with my things. I just used them in October and three really nice young men moved my three bedroom house. It was a long day and they were always in good moods, didn’t mind moving the furniture around, cleaned up all the wrappings and were so thankful when I bought them lunch. The price was what they quoted me and they were almost surprised to get a tip. Hansen Moving makes moving enjoyable. Locally owned and operated. Five stars.
