Totally NOT satisfied! Clearly, we paid for just the place, oils & water & NOT the ACTUAL massage.
I felt like I was being practiced on. This lady ABSOLUTELY did nothing. Basically, she just rubbed oils on me, wiped it off with a hot towel & I’m basically feeling the same JUST how I entered for $ 50. I mean, there are other places that do WAY better but only charge $ 20.
Won’t recommend this to anyone, unless you just want to have a fancy-​looking place & be barely be touched.
P.S She wanted a tip, but since I didn’t have change, I had no choice but to give her a whole $ 20 (for both my boyfriend & I) that I absolutely regret. –_​– I know I won’t be going here anymore.

Just got a massage at Halona, I’ve been coming here for years and I have always been very happy. However I am now disgusted, to start: I called and asked for the massuse I had last time (1 month ago) they claim she doesn’t work there anymore. I made an appointment and they seemed to have no knowledge about it. The girl behind the counter spoke perfect English which is a first for this place. She leads me to the rooms and says pick anyone (unusual) I wait to get my massage. This is where it really went bad, the massage was not even mediocre, it was awful, literally like the girl had no idea what she was doing. It was painful and rough, then she has me flip over after what felt like 10 – 15 minutes (I paid for 1hr) she started to massage my chest (again unusual) she does a horrid job of that. Then, and this is where it went completely bad: she stops the massage and ask me if I want any extras. (It was obvious what she meant) I have never been asked this in over 2 years of being a customer here. I repeatedly ask her what she means, shocked that she was hinting at a happyending. That’s where the massage got very uncomfortable because I was there for a legit massage. She inquired if my prior masseuse have «taken care» of me. NO. Massage ended about 1 minute after that. Left. Bonus note, there was another male customer waiting requesting very specifically a «Vietnamese girl and strong». This is gross, what was once a great spa has become a rub and tug establishment.

This review is going to be confusing. Because I got an excellent massage from Susan Le, but I would not go back to this place again. Why?
1. I called several times before someone picked up the phone. What kind of business does not have an answering machine?
2. Their website said the price of an hour Swedish massage was $ 50. When I got there, they said it was $ 60. I pointed out the discrepancy, so the massuse said she would tell the owner. Not good enough, if you ask me.
3. Then they said they needed to add a $ 3.00 fee for using my credit card. that’s a new one. I should have walked out then, but really wanted the massage, and as it turns out, Susan was very good. So yes on Susan, and no on the overall service!

Came here to get gift certificates for my family during December, 2014 as a Christmas gift for my aunt for a couples massage. Now it’s summer and my aunt decides to use her gift.
Calls to make an appointment but the only date she could get was a month later. Ok, she took it anyway. A couple days before her appointment she noticed no one calls her to conform. Ok, fine. She calls them to confirm herself just to make sure her appointment is on the book. Calls and calls, no one picks up. Rings and rings, no voice message. Thinking that maybe they went out of business or something she decided to try again. Finally someone picks up. «What do you want?» Is that a way to great your customers???
Long story short, no appointment was ever put down by the workers. Instead they were rude and unprofessional. They asked my aunt why she kept calling them when they were busy with a client. Who’s fault is that for not setting up an answer machine?
I had to speak with the manager to try to clear things up. But after having to argue with the workers there my aunt cancelled her appointment and said she won’t come to a place where they are so rude and disrespectful.
Even though at the bottom of the gift certificate it specifically says «no refund and not redeemable for cash» I will not let this go. It wasn’t our fault that the staff was disorganized and didn’t get the reservation down. They didn’t pick up the phone for days when we were trying to confirm. They couldn’t even have a voice message set so we could leave a message instead of constantly calling, and they were extremely rude by asking «what do you want?» «Why do you keep calling» «I’m busy» So why shouldn’t we be able to get a refund, your staff was the one who messed up and lost a client. I prepaid for this already and I won’t let them just take it away and be treated like this!

I took my boyfriend here for a couples massage after a stressful week of work expecting it to be a wonderful experience for the both of us. Unfortunately, it was not. On the website it lists couples massage for 30 minutes as $ 60 for two. I was charged $ 83 for the both of us for 30 mins hoping I was going to get my monies worth. Throughout the massage each masseuse left the room to go check the front desk. The massage felt as if lotion was being rubbed onto my body, not a thorough massage. The only reason I am giving one star is due to the setting, it was very peacful aside from the interruptions. I am positive I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere, my mistake though. Will not return here again.

I have to give Ivy 5 stars because of how well she treated my mom. She did an anti-​aging facial along with an eyebrow and lip wax.
What I really love about Ivy though, is that she and my mom had a disagreement about how thin her eyebrows should be, Ivy wanted them to look more natural so she waited for me to come back and see if it should be thinned out. I’m so happy she waited for me because they were already done beautifully and after I asked for a bit more trim, my mother was extremely happy.
Like all mothers, my mother is by far the most judgmental and hard to please but she was very happy with the facial. She said she was massaged with real aloe vera and was so happy.
I also received a massage from Ivy and after my mother’s acceptance of her, I will be bringing her back for more facials and even myself and my dad for the massage.
Thank you Ivy for doing such an awesome job with my mother and for your excellent customer service!

I went with a friend for the «Nutrition» facial and Ivy answered our call and set us up to do our facials together, 1 room with two beds. She explained that this would mean a longer session since she would be working back and forth between us, but we were ok with that.
The facility is nicely decorated and a lot larger than I had envisioned. There are possibly 8 rooms. The entry is inviting, but the white sofas have definitely suffered over time and are pretty scuffed up now.
My friend and I were both satisfied with our facials and relaxed from the experience. I did not give more stars because I didn’t feel like my skin had a significant improvement from the treatment. Here is the basis for my rating:
— I wanted a relaxing and beneficial facial. I got a relaxing experience, but feel like the facial resulted in mostly short-​term benefits for my skin.
— Ivy was very friendly and the aloe (from her backyard) she used made my skin feel pretty good afterward, but it was definitely a bit of a weird texture.
— I got a bonus, free acne treatment so I tipped a little more for that unexpected service.
— We did the Nutrition facial and the website says that they do extractions, but in person, Ivy said that we didn’t need it. She had asked us our age, so it seems she was basing the facial on age and after examination of our skin.
— We called with very short notice but was accommodated quickly
— As another review mentions, tipping by cash is directly suggested during payment after we were done. Payment by cash or debit is also suggested first, but they do take credit card.
Since I didn’t feel like my skin had much improvement after the facial, I’m uncertain if I would go again.

This people are nice, the atmosphere is quiet and hidden, and above all it’s clean!!! I recently had an eyebrow and lip wax, and overall it was very good.
The girl who waxed me was very polite, and made a bit of conversation. The reason I took off one star was because it’s very difficult to talk to someone without moving your face during the wax! I didn’t want to mess her up by making facial expressions while we were talking.
Also, while the rooms are dimly lit to be soothing, I was concerned about how many stray hairs I would find when I got home because of the lighting. There were 10+ hairs just along my lip that I had to pluck myself (NOT fun) because they were missed by the wax in the poorly-​lit room.
So overall I am happy, but I’m still looking for the perfect salon to call home.

I’ve been coming to Halona Spa occasionally for a little over a year. A coworker recommended this place, and I tried it out even though it’s a bit of a drive from Santa Clara. Anyways, with that being said I love this place. I’ve always had a great experience here, and leave feeling refreshed.
I’m usually a pretty frugal person, and don’t like to spend money on body care, but this place is affordable and a great treat. The owner is the nicest lady ever, and always seems to remember me even though I only go in once every few months. The spa is cute and clean, rooms are cozy and warm. The staff are all very friendly. I love sitting on the sauna for a bit before getting a deep tissue massage.
Highly recommend this place! I just thought about writing a review because I was thinking about making an appointment for tomorrow, and realized this review is long overdue.

I love this place! Holly gives me the best massage everytime. Very tentative to your needs. Ivy is great as well. Both therapists are excellent.

This review is for SIGNATURE MASSAGE only. (not for body scrub)
I went yesterday for a 60-​minute signature massage for $ 55. (a combination of swedish + deep + hot stone massage)
Negatives:
— I was greeted by a lady & after introduction, was asked to pay $ 55 in advance before the massage.
— When I was paying the amount, she asked if I would like add TIP to card total or in cash. I think it was very in-​appropriate to ask for tip BEFORE the service.
— For Hot Stone Massage, you are suppose to keep the hot stone on the body, but instead the lady kept rubbing my back with the hot stone.
— The massage experience was poor. Somebody walked in the room & interrupted. They kept on convincing me to do body scrub 2 – 3 times, inspite of the fact that I had fully paid for signature massage.
— Instead of 60 minuted, the massage was only done for 50 minutes.
Positive:
+ Parking was easy, lot of space in the complex.
+ Interior was good
+ Towels used were clean
+ Polite & nice people.
In short, its not worth paying $ 55 for massage at this place. Inspite of very poor experience, I still tipped $ 10.
I will not recommend this place to anyone for a MASSAGE.

Well, if I had any hang-​ups about my body before, I certainly don’t now.
I took my sister here for a massage & scrub as a birthday gift and we both really enjoyed the services here. The spa is beautiful and calming on the inside, although you might not expect it from the outside. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional and I never once felt lost or panicked about what was going on (which I usually do at other places.)
So, I’ve only frequented two other spas in my life and am not sure how this place stacks up against the norm. For the deep tissue massage here, the masseuse did use her full body (including feet, I think) which some may not be accustomed to. I had never had a full body massage before (just neck and shoulders) so I was a little surprised to find that they even massage your front.
After the massage, we sat in the sauna for a few minutes while they prepared the scrub for us. This, by far, was the most outstanding part of our visit. I have never had a scrub at a spa before, but I can tell you that the formula they use here is heavenly! We were told it was all natural and included orange, sugar and honey. Whatever it was, it smelled wonderful and really worked! I was so soothed and my skin felt so soft afterwards. I also loved the little shower they had for you to wash off in. Again, this is a full body service which made me uncomfortable at first but then I gradually got used to it. (I didn’t think a scrub meant.whole.body.)
I am plus sized so I appreciated that the staff made me feel comfortable. The receptionist (who also did my sister’s scrub, Ivy, and I believe is the owner?) was very friendly and sweet and answered any questions we had.
This may not be fair but I did not give this place five stars because I have had better. Unfortunately I have been lucky enough to get a massage at a world class spa and have been thus spoiled for life by it. I missed the aromatherapy (I’m not sure if you can add it on here.) At other places the towels that were used in the beginning of the massage to cover yourself up were also warm, which I would have liked as well. (They did use a warm towel on me, but maybe at the end? I could just not be used to how it normally goes.)
I was not asked to pay ahead of time as some other reviews indicate.
There is real value in this spa, as the services (especially the scrub) are divine, the staff is great, and the prices are great! (Total before tip for 60 mins massage & scrub for my sister and I =~$ 215. I have paid more than that for just a facial at some other spas.)
I’ll be back in a few months. This place is too good to pass up!

Back Pain Relieved and Sanity Restored! — Hidden Gem!
Best spa I’ve been to since moving to CA three years ago. I previously lived in the midwest and the south — both places that had GREAT massages and GREAT spas. Since moving to CA I have been to MANY mediocre and a few really bad spas. I was even disappointed with Burke Williams (facility was a 5, massage was a 1). I have been all over the Bay area trying expensive spas, to find one I like. Well, I found it!
This spa is a Hidden Gem! Located next to Goodwill and a Liquor Store, it suffers from being judged my its exterior. Get past that and WALK INSIDE. CUTE! RELAXING! CLEAN! MODERN!
The massage itself was wonderful! I have chronic back pain and it is rare to find a therapist that can work out all the kinks, but Holly did! She was also very responsive to direction and asked multiple times if the pressure was okay, and would adjust accordingly. When I kept asking for more pressure, she climbed up and used her knees and feet. I know, it sounds weird and unpleasant, but it was heaven!
The spa itself is a surprise when you walk in and down the corridor. The space is worthy of Willow Glenn, Los Gatos or Santana Row! The only difference is that the prices are REASONABLE! So nice for a change!!! Makes it affordable to treat yourself more often.
I was able to get an appointment for the same day, but there should be a line to get into this place. Can’t wait to go back and try the body beauty treatment!

Saw this place on Unilocal and once again the Unilocalers were spot on!!! Great prices and greater service. They are really want to make sure you get what you want and they check in during massage.
So clean! And worth the cost!

My inlaws purchased my birthday gift certificate here in June for the Vacation Package which is an hour massage, hour body scrub & an hour facial
First off the plaza seem sketchy because its just old. It definitely does not reflect the inside of the spa. Honestly this place should be in Santana Row, Los Gatos or even Willow Glen but thank goodness its not because then it wouldn’t be reasonably priced. Its actually one of the nicest ones in the area.
When I walked in I was greeted by a very polite receptionist & modern well decorated waiting area. I had an appointment at 11 am and I arrived a few minutes early but they were ready for me 11 am sharp, which I loved! When I was walked to my room the whole spa was nicely lit not too bright not too dim enough to get you relaxed 7 in the mood. Each room was named after destinations, I was put in the Rome room. The room is a good size, I have been to other where theyre so small the poor massage therapist could barely get around. The room was nicely lit and had a pleasant smell. Some places I have been to were over scented that I left with a migraine but this room was no less than perfect. By the way if you are looking for a romantic couples message this place is perfect!
Now to the massage, it was amazing! Jenny was my massage therapist and she was great. I have allot of tension in my shoulders and she was able to get out most of my knots, I have allot and I already know an hour is not enough to get them all out. she had perfect pressure I like when I get those massages when they dig in my back and she did this but in a way where it was still comfortable and relaxing. I also liked how the lighting changes as you relax.
After my massage I was taken to the sauna for about 5 minutes which was very nice. It has the same lighting effects as the massage room, it will get dimmer as you began to relax After I was escorted to the bathing room where I was given the scrub. I expected something different but to my pleasant surprise it wasnt just them slapping products on me to make me soft it was almost like another massage but with a body scrub. I’m so glad my inlaws purchased this service I honestly thought it was a waste of money but it was so relaxing and my skin now feels like my 11 month olds!
Now the facial, the owner Ivy did my facial and she was wonderful. I was not looking forward to the extraction part, my last facial left me with small scratches around my nostrils ugh, but Ivy got the job done and it wasn’t even that painful. My skin feels and looks amazing!
To sum it all up it was a nice 3 hour vacation, since I am a new mommy I hardly have time to myself but this so far was the best 3 hours of my life! I didnt even want to leave. Oh and they didn’t even push for a tip which I appreciated so much that I tipped my biggest tip EVER… I will definitely be back with my mom and my sister.

After a few months at a new job, I decided to treat my mom and I to a spa day. I knew I wanted to get us both facials and massages. I came across Halona’s 3-​hour Vacation Day package and decided to give it a try. The package included a 60-​minute facial, 60-​minute massage, and 60-​min body beauty bath. We both left feeling refreshed, happy, and relaxed :)
I didn’t really find the outside to look sketch like everyone else thinks. The inside is absolutely gorgeous and very modern. There was a facial room, several massage rooms (individual rooms as well as couple massage), sauna room, and beauty bath room. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the manager, Ivy, who is not only friendly and easy to get along with, but is also very easy to become comfortable around, which is something I find important when someone is rubbing down your naked body lol. She was very sweet and wanted to make sure we had the best first experience.
I was first taken to the facial room. The overall atmosphere of each room was very calming. Each room was decorated in good taste and the lighting was dim and soothing. I normally don’t get facials, but this was definitely a good first experience. Ivy was the one who gave us both our facials and she did such a great job. After several washes, exfoliations, and a mask, my face has never felt so refreshed. My mom gets facials all the time and told me this was the best one she’s ever had.
Next was the massage. Each room was themed after a different vacation destination. My mom went to Rome, while I went to Paris. My masseuse, Jenny, was fantastic. I work as a nurse, so I always have problems with my lower back. About 5 minutes into my massage, she noticed all the knots I had in my shoulders as well. I never noticed how bad my shoulders were until I heard all the cracks of my back as she worked out the knots. It was my first time having a combo of a swedish and a hot stone massage and I loved it. I wanted to stay for another hour!
Last was the beauty bath scrub. Ivy gave both of us our body scrubs with a concoction she came up with. After a good scrub down, I hopped into the shower and hopped out with my skin literally feeling like silk.
Thanks for the great first experience, Ivy! We will be coming back! I will definitely need to bring my boyfriend here for a couples massage.

The decoration is good, the room is clean and nice. Their bed is not very comfortable. And my therapist answered a phone call during the treatment, kind of annoying. Her technique is ok. One other thing that’s a little strange is that payment is required when you arrived, and the receptionist even asked whether I’d like to pay tips before or after the service. I mean, the tip should be like appreciation for the service, how can I judge whether the service is good or bad before I get it.
In general, if you are in the area, and want a massage late, it might be a choice. Their price is reasonable.

Cannot express how I really feel. As most of the reviews do say, it’s sketchy outside but pretty inside. Cousin and I were bored and decided to look around for things to do, but unfortunately it was super late 7pm ish to do anything fun or relaxing.
I started Unilocaling of course! Ah, it was weird when I spoke to the girl on the phone because I heard a Vietnamese accent, but it didn’t hit me yet. Wh does it matter? (I’m not racist, I’m Vietnamese myself) Well, rumor has it that the «Asian» massages are super intense versus the American massages where you do actually fall asleep.
Phone conversation:
I asked over the phone, «Do you have an opening for two people tonight? One for a facial and one for a massage?» Lady on the phone replies, «Yes, when will you be coming?» I saw that it was on Blossom Hill so I figured it must be close by my house. I decided to reply, «7:30pm or 7:45pm?»
Cousin and I went to the place, looks dark outside so we were a little scared since it looked like one of those places where you get «happy endings» and the windows were all darkened with a tint.
I came in for an acne facial cleanse and cousin came for a her first massage ever. We told the lady in front who happened to be the manager. I told her to get my cousin the Swedish massage, but she insisted to do it «medium» because it will be suited more for pregnant people like a rub if we went with the normal Swedish massage.
My cousin’s first massage I heard was in her words it was wonderful, but she didn’t have any expectations or know what to expect going into it since it was her first. She said the girl pulled and massaged her in ways she never thought she could even do herself. There were times she wanted to throw the girl off her because guess what? Girl climbed on top of her and was walking up and down her back and legs. The girl even pulled her hair, ears, and other places she didn’t even think she would. My cousin is a loud laugher so she laughed when the girl got on her and when she put a towel on her head, she started hitting her head with some tool. Reminded me of Friends, the tv show, Ross hits this guy, one of Phoebe’s clients, with spoons up and down his back. Cousin said she realized that it wasn’t a regular Swedish massage after the girl started climbing her back. Didn’t remind her of what you see in the movies where you fall asleep while someone massages you…
My experience? The lady told me to undress and I said, «For a facial?!» Hahaha! Wouldn’t you have asked the same question? Started on my face with some lotion and massaging. First thing she says is that I need to do the acne facial at least 4 times, but at least 1 time for every three weeks. She started with the steam machine to open my pores. After, she did some exfoliation and it burned. I don’t know if it’s supposed to hurt. Lady kept going inside and outside because the front desk girl would yell her name from the front room down the hallway. She left the room and came back, she didn’t wash her hands and touched my face again. I don’t know if there was a sink inside the room or sanitizer, but it seemed like she didn’t do anything to clean them. She cleaned my face with the zit popper tool and I got teary eyed. It hurt so good? After, it was the machine that feels like they’re going to zap you (Derma machine?) then a facial peel. It took about an hour and 30 minutes. She used this I want to try an Americanized one to compare. Both my cousin and I will try a non-​Asian experience…
Total came out to about $ 115 or so, I don’t know the exact amount. My cousin paid for me, but the staff was nice and gave us both a discount because online the acne facial cleanse is supposed to be $ 75+ and a Swedish massage would be about $ 60 for an hour. Overall, super nice staff, but a little bit unprofessional. Even with all that stuff happening, I would come back again because my cousin loved her experience and my face does feel better.

I found this place on Unilocal last week and was excited to try it out due to a nightmare with a Groupon purchase last month plus all the great reviews. Leading up to the appointment, they were really nice and professional. I scheduled a 90-​minute couple’s massage with my boyfriend. Then an hour before our appointment, she called me to ask if it was okay to put us in separate rooms for our massages — ummm okay, but then it’s not a couple’s massage, right? I wanted to be flexible because my boyfriend and I both really needed massages, so we just went with it. Plus when we got there she gave us a $ 10 discount, which was a nice gesture.
When we arrived, they were pretty welcoming and professional. Then they put us in our separate rooms and that’s when my disappointment really set in. To start with, the lady who did my massage didn’t even ask what kind of pressure I wanted, whether I had problem areas, etc. She just started slathering oil/​lotion all over my body and barely massaged me — it was more like a glorified rubdown. When she finally asked how I was feeling, I asked for more pressure/​deep tissue, especially on my upper back and shoulders. She said ok and pressed only a little more — barely what I was looking for.
Then when she had me flip over it got a little weird — not sure if you are supposed to «massage» someone’s stomach and chest during a full body massage but she did that too. Pretty strange. Then she put all of this oily stuff on my face and started massaging my face and wiping off all of my makeup. To make matters worse, by this time she had gotten a ton of the oil in my hair. I am used to getting a little oil in it, but it’s still in there after 2 washes.
So finally after she was done and left the room, I got up and was about to start changing. While I was standing by the door where the mirror was, she opened the door again without knocking, exposing me to her and anyone who could have been in the hallway behind her.
I was excited for this place and was hoping for the best, but it really just ended up being a complete dud. Spend your money elsewhere.

After seeing all the great reviews of Halona spa, I was really surprised by my experience today. I’m getting married in a few months and haven’t had a facial in years, so I decided to try Halona out today.
As others have mentioned, the outside of the spa is no indicator of what’s inside. The décor is very cute and serene and overall it feels very clean.
The receptionist was extremely friendly and chatty, though a little too much for my liking before 10 AM. This is totally a matter of preference though I suppose. I tend to prefer a quieter spa experience.
Anyway, I was super excited for my facial, but those feelings quickly diminished. To start, the overhead lighting in the room was very bright. I know they need to be able to see your skin, but usually there’s a smaller lamp directed right on you. My esthetician, I’m not sure of her name, was extremely rough. As she applied each of the different lotions and potions, I felt like she was slapping them onto my face rather than massaging. Even worse, her hands smelled a bit like garlic. Hmm. I was worried about how the extractions would feel, but oddly she was very gentle for those, so much so that I’m not even sure they happened.
Towards the end of my facial she applied a very cold «cooling mask.» I’ve never had especially sensitive skin, but this was so cold it felt like it was burning my skin and I finally had to say something. Thankfully she was very kind and removed the mask, replacing it with something more gentle.
My face does feel quite smooth now, so I’m somewhat pleased with the results, but the actual process was not very pleasant. I might check them out for a massage or something since it’s a nice place with great prices, but I won’t rush back for a facial anytime soon. Hopefully it was just a bad day.
