I took my 3yr old son in for his first ever dental visit. I was pretty impressed with the office and the staff. Now, if you asked my 3yr old, he would tell you he hated the visit and was scared, but luckily I am the one writing the review.
My son cried. a lot, but the assistant handled him very well. She kept talking to him and showing him how things worked. She was able to handscaler some of the teeth, polish, floss and a fluoride treatment. The assistant and the Dr gave me a lot of good info.
At the end my son got a sticker and a toy and he was happy with that. He also really liked the lobby, playing with all the toys.
We will be back in 6 months.

We just had another visit for my two daughters and I continue to be so impressed at everything from the ease of scheduling appointments (concurrent appointments for my 3 and 5 year old), changing appointments, billing, the super quick wait time (I don’t think we’ve ever waited more than 5 minutes) to the staff. Everyone is really friendly and the way they treat me and our girls is fantastic. My girls always ask when their next dentist appointment, and are so excited to go and happy throughout the cleanings and exams. The waiting room and exam rooms are so friendly and appealing to children. We used the restroom today and it was as charming and clean as someone’s home. Dr. Wolkstein has such a great manner with children and answers questions thoughtfully. My husband called to ask how the appointment went and I said the office is so great I only wish I could find a pediatrician I liked as much.

Dr. Wolkstein is kind and patient with my daughters. We started seeing Dr. Phil Wolkstein so my daughters were hesitant to have a different dentist (because they like his Dad so much) but with his calm nature and easy way of working with kids, my children are very open to seeing either doctor now. He has filled one of my daughter’s cavities and she had no complaints and actually seemed happy after the procedure. The office staff is very friendly and they are always on time and accomodating. I drive from Campbell to go to their office because it is so wonderful and friendly to my children and me.

We have been coming to the Drs. Wolkstein for 10 years and there aren’t enough superlatives for this remarkable father/​son duo. From the moment you walk in, to the consultation at the end, we have always felt valued. This family run business deserves to be at the top of everyone’s list for pediatric denistry. We are blessed to have them as our dentists and encourage everyone to do the same.

i’ve read the other other reviews and all I can say is remember that everyone will have a bad experience somewhere and that it may be unique to that one incident.
My family has been with the Wolkstein’s for about three years now, and having two very HIGH MAINTENANCE daughters, I can say that they are about as amazing as Dentists come. To be specific, I have one daughter with Autism, and they have always treated her with extra special care, tending to her specific needs, both emotionally and medically. My other daughter is a DRAMA QUEEN and she always leaves smiling and happy– that should say a lot! Both my children have had dental work done and it has been very successful.
One major pro is that they are always ON TIME!!! I was just there this morning for my daughter to have a filling and we were in at 8:20 and out within 20 minutes!
If you’re concerned about billing, just ask them. They will happily call your provider to see if they will cover the treatment. The staff is VERY friendly and will be happy to go over everything with you if you just ask :)

AMAZING OFFICE! The front office staff is friendly and very helpful. The assistants and hygenists are great. Drs. Phil and Greg are incredible! I didn’t have insurance at my son’s first visit 4 years ago, I knew he had to have major work. So I was not surprised when he needed 8 fillings! I felt like a horrible parent. Dr. Phil spent extra time with me demonstrating the correct techniques to use while brushing my sons teeth! I told him my son fought me with this and he walked me through all the steps on my son while in the exam room. I know the amount I paid was very fair! The office staff worked with me!
I now have insurance and the staff is still incredible. I have never had an issue with billing or coverage. They answer any and all questions I have no matter how crazy it may be.
My son is now 7 and my daughter is 5. They love going to see Dr. Wolkstein. They just recently had a cavitie each and both handled the fillings well. Dr. Phil did mention that I need to be more involved in the flossing to prevent this again, which I greatly appreciated!
Overall this is a wonderful office. We always feel comfortable and they actually remember you! Both Drs. Phil and Greg are the best at what they do! The whole office truely makes you feel like family!

My family has been going to Doctors Phil and Greg Wolkstein for years. They just had another appointment last week. I don’t know any kid who isn’t a little bit nervous before they go to the dentist. But the entire staff — especially — Doctors Greg and Phil put them at ease immediately and work extremely efficiently. When we finished, my 6 year old son said, «that was fun, when can I come back?». I think that says it all

Wolkstein and his son has been my dentist (s) since I was a little kid and I personally like him. I’ve been to many dentists who are simply dreadful; since my insurance switched, we tried a lot of dentists that seem to just be looking for more money in their pockets. My older sister was told she had eight cavities one time. EIGHT.
So long story short, we tried to switch dentists, but ended up just sucking it up and paying the co-​pay. The other people working there have always been really friendly. The dentists are amazing with kids and has walls of kid pictures and gives you a toy, floss, and a toothbrush as well as sugar-​free gum before you leave.
The waiting room is pretty stocked up on the most recent magazines and there’s a little station where kids can play legos, which I always liked to do with my little sister. Every six months he’ll check up with you to make an appointment and he recently has a texting system that messages you the day of the appointment to remind you and after your appointment he emails you for feedback and suggestions, which I think it a very open and thoughtful thing to do.
My only complaint is that he’s pretty expensive with my co-​pay. :/

They are great. My son stays still for them they keep him busy. He likes all the toys too.

When my family needed a dentist for my daughter I came to Unilocal to look up reviews and to see who was near where I lived. Dr. Greg and his father were listed with the best reviews and the closest to our home. We have had a couple of appointments already and we absolutely love Dr. Greg and the staff! My daughter loves going there and is very comfortable with him; he strives to make your visit as easy and relaxing to you child as possible. Every one who works there is very cheerful and happy, and they provide toys and videos to help your child to relax if they are nervous. They have very reasonable pricing and work with you if your on a budget. If you need a dentist for your child, this is the best place to go! I highly recommend them!
I also read the two ‘bad’ reviews, as others had mentioned… they are very old and do not accurately reflect how the billing is done now. Dr. Greg carefully went over all the procedures and worked with me to be the most cost efficient as well as what would be most beneficial to my daughter. The billing staff had no issues with our insurance and explaining what would and would not be covered and again they all went out of their way to not only provide excellent service but help us reduce costs as we live on a very limited budget.

My daughter rejected dental check up twice and failed her vision test right before we visited here. However, DDS Wolkstein and RDA sandi were amazing. They were so kind and nice. My daughter got a treatment easily. Thank you so much.

We switched to Drs. Wolkstein last year after my son wouldn’t let his previous pediatric dentist perform some work and another dentist had advised complete sedation for the procedures. At the initial exam visit, Dr. Phil explained what he dentally needed to perform on my son and then also explained his philosophy on how he would work with my son. He was very open and honest with me and explained that he needed my support 100%. He was very honest with my son about his expectations too. At the first treatment visit my son was not 100% cooperative but by the 2^nd procedure my son was a changed child. He has gone from having a fear of the dentist to being comfortable in the dental chair, and complete sedation was not required.
Having worked in the dental field myself for a long time (yes, working in the field I still had a child afraid of the dentist!), I appreciate the time that Dr. Phil took to explain everything to my son, who now has developed trust and respect for Dr. Phil and Dr. Greg.
In response to previous reviews about dental offices knowing what should and shouldn’t be covered by one’s insurance: there are so many different policies, limitations, waiting periods, age restrictions, non-​duplication clauses, etc. that the insurance companies impose. Even if you call up your own insurance company to check on a benefit, the first thing that you will likely be told is «This is not a guarantee of coverage.»

The office is located off Blossom Hill Rd near Thornwood Drive. You can always find a parking spot. They are located upstairs. They have magazines to read in the waiting room, no video games for the kids to play like some other dentist offices (hence 4 stars).
My son and daughter now have been coming here for years. The staff is very friendly, calls with reminder appointments and have never had a billing problem. The dental x-​rays, cleaning and regular maintenance is done on a regular basis. The dentists are always on hand to answer questions or concerns.
This is a family run business with father and son who are both dentists. They both have a friendly, easy going personality that the kids are not afraid of visiting the dentist. So going here is a joy vs. a pain!

My son has been coming here since he was a 1 ½ years old and sees Dr. Greg Wolkstein. Every visit that we have been to has been consistently great. Their entire staff has been warm and patient. We have never had a bad experience.
My son is now 4 and came in for his biannual checkup. As any kid, they are terrified and not a huge fan of someone probing in their mouths. On top of that, my son was really antsy and in rare form. During the checkup, my son had an allergic reaction to latex. Something that we have not encountered in the past, but doesn’t surprise me with my son’s list of known allergies. Dr. Greg was quick to asses the situation and to address it. During this process, he also took consideration to my son’s feelings and tried to bring him to a level of comfort and ease. I was simply AMAZED at how calm he was during this and how he addressed it. Needless to say, by the end of the appointment, my son’s allergic reaction subsided and had him laughing towards the end.
Dr. Greg is amazingly the sweetest children’s dentist that is out there. No pun intended. I can’t imagine that it’s the easiest job in the world, but it’s evident that he is good at what he does and loves it, too. KUDOS!

We really like the doctor. He is awesome with the kids. I have however seen attitude out of two of the dental assistants. (one is Marianne and the other, not sure of her name, but the older lady with the short hair). They aren’t very patient with the kids. Marianne even told my child she needed to stop moving and behaving because she had other patients. I didn’t like that at all. The other assistant (asian/​phillipino younger lady) on the other hand was awesome! I’d give 5 stars but some of the attitudes would have to change. It’s kids your dealing with and if your not patient then your in the wrong business.

I have to agree with Marie C. They are not pocketbook friendly. They performed procedures that my insurance rejected. How does a dentist office not know how routine procedures are covered by the different insurance policies? The lady in billing was friendly but in the end was unable (or unwilling) to reduce the charges. You better know how your own insurance policy works, because they are not willing to take the time to figure it out with you.
The dentist has the typical attitude that he knows what’s best for you and unless you have done your research like Elizabeth T., he talks down to you. I specifically asked if a procedure was necessary and he said, «Sometimes this happens.» I wanted to trust him so went ahead with the procedure, but now looking back I suspect he was being evasive just to make an extra (hundred) buck (s).
You better be prepared to question everything — procedures and charges, and do your research! I don’t have time for this.
The office is kid friendly with movies and prizes.

I’m so happy I chose Dr. Wolkstein for my 3 year old’s first visit to a dentist. Since she is often nervous in new environments, I decided to take her there a day early to help her get used to the idea. Even though we stopped in unannounced, they welcomed us with open arms. We got an impromptu tour and the whole staff stopped to say hello. During the actual appointment, my daughter actually had a good time. (If you can imagine that…) All day she has been telling everyone who will listen about her teeth! Not only were they good to her, but my questions were answered and I felt very comfortable and involved. They had me sit in the room with her and even showed me (hands on) the best way to help her brush her teeth at home.
I look forward to The Dentist being a happy word in our home. Thank you Dr. Wolkstein!

Both Drs Greg and Phil are awesome. My kids (now 6 and 9) have been seeing them for about four years, and my daughter seriously gets giddy when i tell her it’s time to go to the dentist! They’ve always taken excellent care of both kids, and the staff is very friendly as well.
I don’t get why Dr. Phil has two bad reviews posted, but 7 good reviews that are filtered! Take the time to read through his filtered reviews too.
I would highly recommend these guys to anyone needing a great dentist for their littles.

A great dentist office and I would recommend them to anyone with kids. My daughter goes here and I love them as well as the staff.
