Small Vietnamese Café located in Tully Dragon Plaza by Carrows. There’s a parking lot but it’s often full so parking can be difficult to find. My big bro and I sat in the patio since there’s quite a few different kinds of birds in cages around the patio(loose rooster & chicken too), plus there’s less smoke. Really good cà phê đá(Vietnamese iced coffee). I think they even roast their own beans. Limited food menu that includes a few Vietnamese soups and Bánh mì(Vietnamese sandwiches). Lots of older Vietnamese OG’s eating/smoking/drinking while playing cards or Chinese chess.

If you want to find a coffee place with great foods for friends and family without feeling ashamed, it’s Got Hong. My regular place during weekends with friends for coffee and breakfast. Hanging out at this place at noon during summer reminds me of those days back in Vietnam countryside: feeling the breeze or watching the birds, chickens raised by the owner, anh Thanh is priceless. I love the concept of this place: dripping coffee and gourmet foods. Vietnamese sandwiches, in both regular and deconstructive way will make you forget other Sandwich places in San Jose. Additionally, beef with macaroni or crab sautéed in vermicelli will tell you why you should never have those at Paloma or Coffee Lovers. Give it a shot, it will change your impression of Vietnamese coffee shops which somehow have been infamously tainted by some lately in the area.

Place was really hard to find, hidden behind carrows and carls jr. The place is really small only one room and some outdoor seating. Coffee price is expected since you’re really there for the girls or the atmosphere but the girls weren’t really that great. Other places the girls sit down and talk to you and dress«nicer.» They do have a good amount of tv’s and the service was quick so I’ll give it two stars instead of one.

Came here during closing time. Will come back again to rate the service, their foods, the inside and outside areas of the facility, and their waitresses.

Stopped here to check out the«best» Vietnamese coffee. $ 4 for a microwaved base and condensed milk seems like a bit much. I guess it’s a cultural thing. The smoking, card playing and such. The mini black and silver dresses the ladies were wearing were tasteful. They looked a lot prettier than the lingerie based coffee shop across the parking lot. I am quite partial to pretty ladies. Looks like they have an Internet bar, all were in use so could not check it out for myself. The wait staff here were just as attentive as the other coffee shop, meaning not very good. But then, it is cold and they are wearing minis. Being in the patio has its disadvantages. The patio was nice. The peeing cherub fountain, not so much. At least they provided ashtrays. It looks like they provide mahjong gaming. Didn’t get that free donut like others did in their reviews. At least the jasmine tea was good and hot. A nice touch for a hot tea drinker like myself.

My favorite Vietnamese coffee joint in SJ! Got Hong means«Heel of the pink shoe»…I know fancy huh?! ;) Got Hong is located off of Tully, right by Carrow’s and Carl’s Jr. You can’t miss it. Reasons why Got Hong is awesome: 1. The ambiance is super nice and up to date. 2. All the big screens are high def and in pretty good condition, unlike some of the other coffee joints I’ve been to. This is very crucial for me, considering I’m only found here if there is a game or fight on :) 3. The lay out of the place is pretty cool. For example, besides sitting inside you have the option of sitting in the back patio area or you can chill in front. All areas are equipped with seats, tables and plenty of palm trees all over the place. 4. The girls and owners are pretty chill. The owner Chu Thanh and his wife are super friendly and nice. I always feel welcomed when I stroll by to watch a game. They are good people and they care about their business. Overall, definitely go to chill, have some iced tea and watch the game!

I came on Saturday for the first time since they’ve opened. Really nice and clean place to sip on a cup of Vietnamese coffee and chit chat with friends. There are a lot of plasma televisions hung on the wall at the place. They also played good Vietnamese music here. What scored points with me about this place was that they played one of my favorite songs after I sat at the place for about 15 minutes. They played the song«Wedding Dress», which was sung by Tae Yang– a hottie :) Great place and good selections of music guys!

This coffee house opened recently at the end of 2009. It’s located off of Tully Rd and King. It’s a nice place to kick back with lots of plasma TVs. I really like the nice leather sofa. There is also an outside terrace with sun umbrella and heater if needed on cooler days. It’s not as crowded as other places but it’s ok because you can relax, chat, and enjoy the nice backgound music. Some mixes of New Wave, trance and Vietnamese music. The waitresses are very nice, sweet and friendly, not as trashy as some other places. Overall very nice atmosphere. They also offer FREE donuts, USA Today and SJ Mercury newspaper. Not bad at all.

Me and a friend checked this place out one morning on our way to eat and we decided to drop by for coffee after. The coffee was made pretty well, i drink alot of coffee so i feel i can tell the difference between a good cup and a bad cup of coffee. The coffee wasnt the think that made me stay though, it was the new megatouch! i havent seen any other place have them so i come here when i wanna play some new games. The waitresses are nice and friendly. The music on the other hand was ok, it isnt as bad as some other places but some of the songs were like what the eff? My first time here they actually gave me a doughnut which was a nice suprise because that has never happened to me before at any other coffee shop!

The black coffee was on the sweet side and the tea was just like any other tea. Nothing too memorable there. However, they do have VNese desserts, and«sam bo luong» which is healthy. The music was mostly dance-y R&B with some dance music once in a while. The name means«pink slippers» is my guess. Saw the signage for this location’s Dec. 23, 2009 grand opening while driving on Tully Rd and so dropped in on a hunch that it’s a VNese café. Could have done a FTR but never got the address nor noted the name down correctly. They’re so new, they still don’t have business cards ready. Therefore, returned the next night after a UYE( ) with a few Unilocalers — even one first-timer Unilocaler to a NorCal VNese café. Reps! Ok, so this place is smallish for a café and they really try to squeeze a lot of tables and chairs in. They do have leather chairs and sofas in the corners so that is a nice change of pace. We all more or less liked it. I liked it because it’s new(would return until the newness wears off) and because the patio is very jungle-ish looking. And, one particular waitress was really bubbly and nice.

I needed a caffeine fix and the only drink that could supply this caffeine was Vietnamese Coffee. I saw the huge sign stating«Grand Opening December 23, 2009″, and it only attracted me to this location. I know there are other Vietnamese coffee shops in the area but I got tired of the gawky and rude customers as well as the waite staff. I entered the coffee shop and noticed it was a small but cozy place. There was also an outside terrace for them smokers. The waitresses were friendly and they always came by to refill my hot tea. The coffee was strong and it gave me the lift I needed. I noticed they had wifi and if you did not have a computer there were netbooks at the counter you could use for free. There were numerous LCDs showing HD quality sports entertainment. Overall this was a classy,“oxymoron», Vietnamese coffee shops. The service was exceptional and the coffee was strong and reasonable.

This FTR should be shared with my new SBC buddies, Ron, Peter, Bobby and Van. They brought me here as a sort of post-Phở eating male bonding. Hidden on Tully near King behind Carl’s Junior and Carrow’s is late night Coffee/Tea Club Central. There are 3 or 4 places clustered near each other. Calling them a Coffee and Tea place is not equivalent to them being similar to Starbuck’s, Peet’s, or a Ladies’ High Tea Room. This is a Vietnamese Café. It is more like popular clubs in Asia where men go to socialize with business partners and clients, or where friends meet to relax and do the male bonding thing. The idea of a Vietnamese Café is to have pretty young girls serving men coffee(or booze in some) to attract them to spend more money. Most have large screen plasma TVs with sports to watch, and don’t mind if you smoke. It’s like a Phở restaurant with less lighting and without food, with more plasmas and prettier servers.(And don’t bring the wife and kids or mother-in-law!) Got Hong just opened December 23, 2009. The Eve of Christmas Eve. We came in on a Friday night about 10pm less than 3 weeks later, and the place had several small groups of middle aged guys and a couple of women friends or girlfriends sitting with them. There were two, young and pretty girls working here, Lucy who is part Vietnamese, and Eva, who is part Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese. They were friendly and cheerful, and wore outfits you might find on young ladies having a girl’s weekend in Vegas: Tight fitting, a lot of legs, and cleavage if you have it. This is more tasteful and interactive than the nearby Leo Cheo or Café Quyen, which has girls dressed like they just got off their dance shifts at The Kit Kat Club or the Brass Rail, and talk to you less. And like those places, only regular customers and high rollers get much attention or conversation, or even a smile. The prices for the coffees are comparable at all of them. About $ 4, $ 3 for teas. Take in some eye candy, have a cold or hot coffee, and catch up with buddies. Leave a tip and don’t overstay your welcome unless you pay for more drinks each hour for everyone’s time. Frankly, I don’t see how these places make money, so come to this one and give it half a chance to stay open for their first anniversary. PS — «Got Hong» means«Pink Heel», according to Peter, my Viet friend. I thought it was«Got Hung» and meant something else coming up that color.
