Good Eyes Optometry

Dr. Tran is a wonderful Optometrist. I have been with her since the beginning of 2014 when I needed glasses for my first driver’s license. She is patient and funny, I enjoyed having conversations with her while I was there. The glasses did their justice and almost two years have past and I need another pair.
I had moved to Los Angeles and thought it would be great to get my new pair of glasses since I was visiting family during Thanksgiving break. I was surprised that she was opened on Black Friday. Luckily she called my insurance to see if she was allowed to prescribe me new glasses before the two year mark. She was very patient with me while I was contemplating on what kind of glasses and prescriptions I wanted. Unfortunately, I was going back to Los Angeles, so we arranged the glasses to be mailed to me and it was perfect! I just received them today and I cannot be any happier!

Horrible experience. They are not customer friendly. Also, they have very unusual policy that you must provide identification to even LOOK at frames to buy. I took my business elsewhere.

Have been looking for an optometrist for a while now, and always passed by Good Eyes since I live close by. Saw that they have great reviews so decided to check them out since my insurance is covered. From the start they had great customer service, went in early and saw that they had a great selection of frames. I went in for a contacts exam and Dr. Tran explained my options in regards to contacts since I have astigmatism. It’s always great to go to someone who explains everything every step of the way, and keeps us well informed. I’m really happy with my visit and will definitely keep on going here for my routine checkups.

I have to say this was the most pleasant and informative experience I have ever had at a doctor visit. Dr Tran was sweet and explained everything to me so I could understand better what was going on with my eyes and the best solution. I even forgot my contact care package and Dr Tran was nice enough to bring it to my home! Can you believe that?! Five stars all the way! Edwin took great care of me and was super nice. I have never felt more comfortable. I highly recommend you give them a try! You wont be disappointed!

Best eye doctor I’ve ever been to. Dr. Tran is knowledgeable, courteous and very sweet. I’ve been coming here for 5 – 6 years. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Ugh finding a good optometry office is tough. Usually ruined by the staff experience and this place is no exception. I requested a appt online and they never followed up with me. I called and gave me a book of excuses so by the time I followed up the appt I requested was taken. The exp should be spot on from phone through front door and these folks just don’t have what it takes to be spectacular.

I cannot say enough great things about this office, in particular, Dr. Thao Tran and Edwin. I have never had an optometrist that was so thorough and an assistant that was so courteous and helpful. Dr. Tran explained everything in great detail as to why she was doing what she was doing and I never felt like I was being rushed. Edwin was also very helpful and kind with the additional testing that he had to do. All in all, I will definitely be back for years to come. Amazing all around.

This was my first time seeing an Optometrist and I do not regret my visit at Good Eyes Optometry. Thao Tran and Edwin Lopez were very resourceful and kind. They made me feel right at home, especially with Edwin. He is someone who knows how to treat patients with #1 customer service plus he explains why he’s doing whatever he’s doing. For example, before using an eye measurement tool on me he would explain to me why he he’s using this tool on me. That way I know exactly what to expect. Thao was very gental and explained everything to me through out my eye examination. I didn’t feel like the procedure was rushed at all! Very chill environment. After the eye exam, I browsed their selection of glasses. They have very high end glasses to vary affordable glasses. I bought a banana republic brand so of course it was on the pricier side. I think it took me about 15 – 25 min to select the one I’d like. After that I paid for my glasses and was told that it’ll arrive with in 1 – 1.5 weeks. They will contact me once it arrives.
Overall experience was great and I highly recommend this location!

I came to Dr. Tran after receiving a recommendation from my fiancé. Dr. Tran is friendly, soft-​spoken, competent, and thorough in her exams. She makes sure to explain everything, and makes suggestions without being pushy, sales-​y, or rushed like other optometrists I have had in the past. I greatly appreciate the time she took to go over my eye exam results with me. I definitely recommend her.
Edwin is fantastic as well. He is friendly and upbeat, has great fashion sense, and definitely listens to what you want and tries to help you find it. He’s a natural sales person, in the best possible sense. Ultimately, he figures out what you want, and helps you find it, all the while enthusiastic about finding the right match.
The office is an orange-​ish colored older converted home, like many businesses in the area. Parking in the back is plentiful, and it’s easy to access since there are two entrances/​exits. The inside has the older charm, but definitely has some upgrades and is nice and clean.
Equipment is a mix of high tech and low tech, but with accurate results. They don’t wast money on fancy contraptions for a test (such as the colorblind and 3-​D tests) that can be done with a printed poster, which I appreciate.
There is a large selection of frames, for regular and sun glasses, at varying price points. I asked if they carried a particular brand I liked in the past, and they didn’t have it, but Dr. Tran mentioned they could order it if I wanted them to. Great service!
My glasses came in in a reasonable amount of time, but my sunglasses had the wrong lens color. Dr. Tran immediately set about resolving the issue. She even put a red envelope with a lucky $ 2 bill in it with the replacement order. I appreciate her pride in customer service and this was a nice touch!
Speaking of nice touches, this office has a giant bowl of candy for guests, as well as water, soda, ice cream, and cookies for clients. It has a very warm inviting feel. With your glasses you get the standard case, but you also get a little gift bag with candy, a lens cloth, and a bottle of glasses cleaner spray. My fiancé gets contacts, and they give out a bottle of travel contact solution with them. They also have a family friendly movie playing in the waiting area, as well as some toys for younger children, so it is a very family oriented place.
Overall, Good Eyes Optometry makes going to the eye doctor a pleasant experience. Not only do I not dread going, but I look forward to it. I highly recommend them!

I love everything about my experience with Good Eyes Optometry! It is true! They even have ice cream if you want to get some! The staff is very helpful and friendly. I spent almost 2 hours choosing my «perfect» frames and they were all the time helping me decide, giving me options, just amazing! I am really happy with my glasses and my contacts. Dr. Tran was able to help me find a solution to a problem I have had for years and two other doctors found no explanation for. You can tell she really loves what she does and tries to find the best option for her patients. I will definitely recommend this place in the future!

I haven’t changed my optometrist since 2009 and even when she moved to a new location on First Street! I was really fortunate for her to carry my employer benefit insurance, VSP, this past year so I can continue to get my eyes checked from her. She is kind, patient, personal, and very diligent! I am actually not surprised that she has assistants now who help her with all the clients she is attracting! Overall, I highly recommend her!

Last Friday (Aug. 29, 2014), was my first appointment at Good Eyes Optometry and my entire experience with Dr. Tran and Edwin was absolutely amazing. Working in the customer service industry ever since I was in high school, I can’t help but be a critic when it comes to service overall and they definitely exceeded my expectations :) Both were professional and knowledgeable in their field, they provided genuine care and comfort in everything they did, and they made you feel welcome and important (great sense of humor btw).
I appreciate how in every step of their process, they would give you a heads up on what to expect and the reason as to why they were doing what they were doing (I wish my dentist did this lol). Anyway, I recommend this place to everyone and I’m for sure, coming back. Yay!

I’ve come here twice. The first time was a great experience. She was thorough in her exams and really took the time to explain the different glasses options. The only thing I didn’t like at that time, was that she kept pressuring me to upgrade my lens to have a UV coating. My glasses came out to be over $ 400.
The second time I came, I realized how unprofessional this place is. At this time, they moved to a new office (she lost her old office because she wasn’t making enough money to cover the mortgage. Yea, that should have been a warning sign). I came in to get contacts. She rushed me in and gave me a 10 minute eye exam. Literally 10 minutes. She was rushing everything in the exam. When she was flipping lenses and asking, «Which is better, number 1 or number 2?» she wouldn’t redo it when I asked. Instead she just insisted I hurry up and choose one. When I got my contacts, I couldn’t see at all. I wore them for 2 weeks then returned to her office. She accused me of having a type A personality and being anal. Yes, those were her exact words. Um, ok, there are my eyes, I don’t want to be sticking random things into them and causing more damage. I asked that she look at my prescription again cause I thought one of the eyes was more blurry. Instead of retesting both eyes, she only retested the one eye that I had mentioned. So when she gave me a second pair of contacts, obviously they weren’t much better. I asked if I could get glasses since the contacts weren’t working. It was only then that she explained that my insurance plan only covered contacts OR glasses, not both in the same year. Great, that would have been nice to know before I spent money on contacts that don’t even work.
She’s a very quiet, soft-​spoken doctor. I’ve had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times, and whenever I do this, she gets offended and start speaking very tersely. Why get into a profession where you have to deal with people when obviously your can’t. There are 3 receptionists (that I know of) working there, which seems really excessive. None of them are trained. The doctor asked them to find a pair of contacts and after searching for 30 minutes, none of them could find it. I stepped out into the waiting room for 2 minutes and found the contacts. They didn’t even know how to use the office printer or send out mail. No wonder this doctor wasn’t making enough money to keep her other office afloat, she’s paying useless people.

Great service, I would highly recommend Dr. Tran to anyone.
