Golden Harvest Catering

Golden Harvest catered a meeting for my organization last week, and they came highly recommended. Folks in other departments had developed positive relationships with John and his team, so it was an easy choice to make when we decided to hire them for our event. All of their menus looked great, which made it hard to choose — though we eventually decided to go with the Deluxe options (really trying to step it up from the pizza we had the meeting before).
As leader of the team that was primarily responsible for organizing and executing the event, my associates and I had a lot going on the morning of. We were expecting Golden Harvest at 11:30 am with me as their point of contact, and though the gentlemen representing them arrived a little bit late, they set up very fast and the food was, of course, delicious. One of the men handed me an envelope with our invoice halfway through the shindig and we settled payment quickly/​painlessly. They were really pleasant, polite guys and they were patient with our group of about 150.
Planning with Golden Harvest was very easy as John responded to our inquiries immediately and we were never left hanging. He was flexible as we gathered our headcount and offered us suggestions and substitutions as we were figuring out our menu. I definitely think we’ll be going with Golden Harvest for meetings to come.

I would recommend John and Golden Harvest Catering. We used them for a large ~60 person birthday party and ordered the «Deluxe Menu» for our guests (with roast beef, turkey and baked chicken plus several side dishes).
They are very reasonably priced and everyone enjoyed the food. John was there and helping everybody get served and they have a person to slice the turkey and roast beef. John even went above and beyond our expectations in walking around and helping clear peoples plates after they were finished. They also offered take-​home boxes for any guests who wanted to take the extra leftovers after the meal was finished.
I would definitely use Golden Harvest if we need a caterer in the future.

John Nguyen and all the staff at Golden Harvest Catering have been providing outstanding service to the American Legion Santa Clara Post 419 for several years, and we cannot thank them enough for the excellent food and service. We use them for all types of events and with different event themes. The quality and quantity is always spot on and pricing is great! Sometimes John will recommend different dishes which ended up being the right choice for that event. We highly recommend Golden Harvest Catering and we look forward to continuing our relationship well into the future.

We have used Golden Harvest for many years to cater meals at our church. John and his crew recently catered our Thanksgiving Banquet for over 400 people. John is really easy to work with and went above and beyond what was expected of them. They arrived early, got set up and offered to help us out with what we were doing. We brought our own pies and they jumped in and helped us cut & plate them.
We will be using them again for our Christmas breakfast. They have done a fabulous job the past few years for us. They also do a fantastic job cleaning up afterwards.

Service: ⁴⁄₅ John was very trusting and allow me to adjust my headcount to the very last minute.
Pricing: ⁵⁄₅ Prob the best catering price you will find in the area. Very affordable and accomodating.
Food: ⁴⁄₅ Good, but I did think there were 2 dishes that could use some improvements. I spoken to John after the event, and he was very appreciative of the feedback.

Overall, would I use them again? Yes, but I would like to try some other banquet menu and see how it compares to the «Authentic Vietnamese» menu we selected.
Overall, we had a great time with great food.
Note: Best to communicate with John over the phone than emails – he is much more responsive.

I have used Golden Harvest Catering for 4 different high school banquets ranging from 140 to 340 hungry water polo players/​swimmers and parents. John and his wife do an amazing job. They are easy to work with and prompt to respond with quotes even when I update the numbers the day before. Their food is great and their service goes beyond what is expected. They do a wonderful job at making a memorable event for the players and parents.

I can’t say enough good things about John and Nina! They cater a weeklong training class every year providing three meals a day. They are flexible to our changing schedule and numbers. If there is a birthday in the group, a cake and candles are brought in. If they know someone is missing, they box an extra meal. And the food– AWESOME! Everyday is a different menu theme including a prime rib night! There are plenty of options for all types of eaters & fad diets, too.

I worked with John to get my wedding catered on 10.4.15., and I am so glad that I did!!! John was a dream to work with. He was so professional and I really felt like he cared about making my wedding incredible. He remembered me and the details of my event even if we hadn’t talked for a month, making me feel at ease throughout the whole process. He is passionate about with he does and needed little to no direction, which is so important to a busy bride. On top of all that, everyone raved about the food, AND he even boxed up the left overs for my husband and I to take home (Now we have dinners covered for a week!). The end result: Awesome communication+GREAT prices+ good food= the best wedding caterer in Silicon Valley. I would definitely recommend using Golden Harvest for your event.

We had brunch catered for my 2 year old son’s birthday today and it was absolutely perfect. John was such a pleasure to work with all through out planning. He responded to emails promptly and even let us try the food to sample weeks before. This is a family business and you can absolutely tell John takes pride in what he does, and that shows in his food and service.
His wife serviced at the birthday, delivered, set up and everything. She was practically like another family member at the party, offering us to help with things other than the food (setting up the kids tables, and filling up their candy bags, etc.) She was so sweet and I can’t thank her enough for her kindness and help all through out the party.
The food was great and a huge hit with the party guests! Will definitely be recommending them to friends and family, and hope to have them cater our future events.

I take care of catering for my company and have dealt with many many food vendors. John from Golden Harvest Catering is definitely one of the best. We have a budget of $ 6/​person and he was still willing to give us plenty of choices from all the different menus. We have had American, BBQ, Italian, Mexican and Asian. The employees enjoyed them all. They’re always on time and very flexible with changes. I haven’t heard a single complain from the 100+ people that got to try the food, which is very rare.
I highly recommend Golden Harvest for any kind of catering events.

We used Golden Harvest Catering for 4 of our meals during a girls Summer Camp and the kids LOVED the food! The food was all different and there were so many options to choose from! The staff showed up early to get set up and did a great job. They were also very friendly! Great experience.

We are looking to hire a catering service for our daughter’s first birthday. I found Golden Harvest through Unilocal.Contacted John and asked for a food tasting. We just returned from the food tasting. It is a kitchen only place and not a restaurant but John accommodated us. We were seated and John came and introduced himself. They were getting ready for an event. His wife came and gave us BBQ menu food tasting. Usually food tasting comes in really small sizes but this one no. My husband and I got a good portion of the food and mind you this was just tasting.
After eating, John sat with us and went through the details and talked a little bit about himself. He emphasized on how they cook the same day which I thought was awesome. He gave us a good deal and was very informative about most questions we had. Most importantly he seemed to be a nice man. His wife was also very respectful and all the other staff were smiling as we walked passed them. All in all they seemed to be nice people and the food was good too. It was a win win.
I will post more once we confirm our event with them.

I always have them cater for my work events. They are definitely my go to catering company! I love their food selection and their hospitality. Always nice and caring! We’ve had numerous top executives compliment their food. They always come prepared and ready.

Great catering, excellent service, versatile menu and an awesome price! John is wonderful. Staff always stays to clean up which is such a huge help! We will continue to use him for many events in the future.

My company has used Golden Harvest Catering several times for onsite luncheons. We hired them to cater our Christmas party offsite and as always, they were amazing. John was very friendly and accommodated our special eaters. His staff arrived early to set up and even stuck around to buss tables. They packaged up our left overs and cleaned up. We were very impressed by the service as well as the food and will continue to use them for company events as well as recommend them on to others. They are very affordable as well with a wide variety of options available.

I found out about John through my husband. We used him for our wedding and I was surprised at how deliciously the food was. I was not sure what to expect since their prices are very reasonable. He is very very nice and his staff is extremely professional. A guest at our wedding used him for her wedding the following year. I also used John for an event at work (Annual Benefits Open Enrollment Health Fair). They impressed many co-​workers including my CEO and I received a lot of positive feed back from the employees who attended the fair. I am using them again on January 30^th for another company event and I very excited to know that I do not have to worry about the catering vendor as I know he will be on time and as usual serve delicious food.

My parent’s celebrated their 50^th anniversary on July 28, 2012. All of our guests were very, very pleased with the amount of food and how great they all tasted. I’m so glad I found this place for catering because I’m very happy with their service and their service during the event was EXCELLENT!!! I have used Golden Harvest Catering for over 15 years for events at Ames. Their food is plentiful and consistently delicious. They come in and it feels like family hosting the meal. Recommend without any hesitation!

I hired Golden Harvest for my wedding last month and I must say they truly exceeded my expectations! I must admit I was not sure what to expect because their prices are so affordable compared to most, but they are delicious. We ordered the «engagement» buffet package and my guests LOVED the food. Not only were they on time and professional, but they provided nice extras such as a punch fountain. They are definitely worth it!
