Garage Solutions

I was looking to have finished look for my garage and begin looking at possibilities. I first looked at DIY solutions that you can get from Home Depot or Lowes and quickly decided that this was not a project I wanted to take on. Next I considered having someone else do the job of painting and coating. After some research, I decided that I wanted to do a professional job so that I didn’t have to worry about the results down the road.
I called Garage Solutions and spoke to Art. He explained my options, what the work would entail and give me a preliminary quote over the phone. I then scheduled an appointment for Art to come out to the house and see what I had in mind.
Art arrived on time, took some measurements and we discussed the project a bit more. We arrived at a fair price and I scheduled the job. On the job day, Art’s guys arrived on time and did an excellent job on my garage. I had some additional requirements, which they cheerfully complied with. They even finished the job a couple of hours before what they had initially estimated.
The results are excellent and I would use Garage Solutions again for any future needs. Really great experience and service.

We had an excellent experience with Garage Solutions. Ken was very personable and easy to work with. He listened to our needs and got the job done right away. His crew was clean, professional, and efficient. We had our 3-​car garage floors done and added new cabinets and ripped out the existing cabinets. The project was completed so quickly and to 100% satisfaction. I highly recommend using Garage Solutions.

I had a very odd experience with Garage Solutions over the phone which was extremely negative causing me to jump straight onto Unilocal and let you folks (anyone looking for garage cabinets or flooring) know to think twice about using this company!!! He basicaly gave me a quote over the phone for my flooring based on square footage. Athough I thought that was fantastic (not to have to worry about setting up an appointment), I am also getting some cabinets installed and wanted to speak to him about what style he works with (for example 1″ melamine)… without having any information about what I was looking for, he quickly told me that he would not be competitive.
This seems very similar to the poor review below where Garage Solutions turned down a job over the phone stating that he only does jobs above $ 7,000. My assessment is that this guy does not want to compete for your business to the point that if he knows you are getting a quote from someone else he is not interested. What this means to me is that he will charge you more than the job is worth — which I am not interested in particularly if the guy doesn’t even show interest in being polite to people.
As a side note, I guess I might barely fit his requirements… I am going to be getting cabinets installed into my 3 car garage along with the flooring done. Based on 1 quote the job will run right at about $ 8,000 — but I will not be using this company because their cabinets are very industrial looking and I am not interested in that.
Find another contractor who is actually interested in doing business and not rude to people who he has determined aren’t good enough for him!!!

We just completed building a new two car garage in Palo Alto and selected GS to provide the storage solutions. They were absolutely terrific throughout and we have a fabulous finished garage with very efficient storage for everything. Our initial contact was Ken Hopkins. He helped us understand their products and advised us on the best configuration for our space (which was quite small and complicated). His recommendations were right on. The crew showed up on exactly on the day and time committed and completed the job precisely on time. Art, the leader of the crew, was a seasoned veteran and was extremely helpful. His two other crew members were also great to work with and they did a flawless job of installation. Even working out the final invoice which included an array of accessories that were delivered and some returned, was a pleasure working with Terrie Daum in their office. As you can tell, my wife and I are delighted and all of our friends are impressed with the new garage. There are less expensive ways to provide storage in a garage but I hardly think the savings would be worthwhile given the well-​organized and efficient garage storage we will use for years to come. In fact, I would bet that we would get multiples of the cost difference back if we were to sell our house with this showcase garage storage from Garage Solutions.

I don’t know what the people below were complaining about re: the service; my entire experience was FANTASTIC! I had a huge job converting my three-​car garage into usable space. I first met with Ken, who went through all of my cabinetry, flooring and storage options. He noticed that I had some scrap wood lying on my driveway, and he thoughtfully offered to haul it away for me on the spot! He also negotiated with me on the price, and met with the contractor I had hired to do the demo and sheetroking, to ensure that everything would come together seamlessly.
I highly, highly recommend Garage Solutions. I’ve included a picture of their work, too (it’s the tan garage with white cabinets).

These guys transformed a mess of a garage into a thing of beauty and functionality and they did it FAST. They have a great engineering staff who works with you to design a garage with you.
We have a three car garage that had some old cabinets, three cars and a mountain of junk piled in between. These guys designed a much more efficient set of cabinetry and wall mounts in conjunction with us.
It took us a week to just clear everything out of the garage and in that week through away a ton of junk, made some local charities happy with a ton of usable stuff that we never used and put the rest in a portable storage pod in our driveway.
Then the guys from Garage Solutions came in ripped out all of the old cabintry and hauled it away in about 4 hours. The next two days we had an independant painter come in and repaint all of our walls and doors. The guys from Garage Solutions came back and put in an absolutely gorgeous floor which is also non-​slip and indestructable in a day. The next three days they installed all of our new cabinetry and wall shelves.
I saw their work at a friends house and was blown away. We called them for a design and a quote. They came in on time and on budget. They couldn’t have been more professional. My garage came out as nice as my friends. It is really beautiful and functional. I couldn’t be happier with the results and with Ken Hopkins, their VP that we delt with in the design face and their crew was geat. They showed up when they said they would and did a terrific job.

I called GS to inquire about a single cabinet order. He squawked at me and said that their typical cabinet order is around $ 7k. I asked if he could point me to someone that could help, he wouldn’t offer any help and was rude.
I don’t think you want to do business with people like this.
