I have been torn between dealing with the gold plated dealership pricing and a mechanic who worked off Monterrey HWY. Who jerry-​rigged parts and caused more problems fixing a simple oil leak (caused by Jiffy Lube) turned into a $ 2500.00 turbo replacement.
Thank G I don’t have to deal with those extremes anymore as I found the needle in the haystack.
The family owned, honest, reliable, and reasonable auto shop!
They are very honest, and they do not overcharge for their services. I actually do not have to take a bottle of Xanax at the idea of my household budget being blown for a year if I get an oil change.

If you want honest, upfront, good quality mechanic service then go here. I would recommend people to their send wives, daughters, and other friends here without ever worrying if they were being taken advantage of.
It’s a small family run operation that does offers very thorough and reasonably priced smog checks.
Andrew is very knowledgable and has always explained any question I have had with complete accuracy (even after I did the research online).
Their prices are competitive, they are very friendly, competent, and offer a ride service for locals.

took my wife’s 2004 Toyota Rav4 in for a smog test. usually this is a drag and very time consuming. smog rules have changed for the better and these guys got us out in under 15 minutes. i was so impressed i brought back my 2001 Toyota tundra the same morning to smog in advance of me selling it. again i was out of there in less than 15 minutes. great friendly service. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

I am giving 3 stars to this business because of customer service and honesty. They were unable/​incapable of solving my issue. I brought my 1997 Toyota Camry in for a Star Smog test. It failed. I then applied for repair assistance and after receiving approval, I went back to Frontline so they could diagnose and fix my car. After leaving it for a day, I was told by the mechanic and manager that they could not find anything wrong (no codes were given to help them) and didn’t want to replace something only to find it wouldn’t solve the issue. To their credit, they did not charge me for the diagnostics. Debbi, Andrew and Cuong were very polite and apologetic for not being able to help me.
I have since located a different Star Test and Repair shop that had more advanced diagnostic tools to identify the problem. They fixed it and the car passed smog.

This place is family owned and they treat each customer just like it… I came in needing my brakes changed my quote was $ 95 bucks (very reasonable) for labor but once Andrew took everything off I needed new roters and bearings I’m thinking it was gonna cost me an arm and leg but he honored the $ 95 even though it took him well over an hour to fix everything. He explained everything and even showed me the issue! It was great I didn’t feel taken advantage of, that usually happens when a woman walks in a shop not knowing a screw driver from… well anything else lol. I’d definitely recommend this place if you need quality work without having to break the bank

It’s not always that you come across honest and good people but going to FRONTLINE to have my car serviced was just that! I received great service at your Pearl Ave. location, the way that the owner Andrew communicated with me and kept me abreast every step of the way while they serviced my car was amazing! I had a great experience having my older car smogged. Andrew was extremely friendly and made me feel at ease, even though I didn’t pass the first time through. I highly recommend Frontline Auto Performance if you have to have your car’s emissions checked.

This place was more than awesome! I brought my car in for some new brakes and all that good stuff and the guys were extremely upfront with no bullshit. I’m a young lady and I hate to get ripped off by places because I am female and expect to NOT know anything when it comes to auto repairs etc. They looked at my car, told me what they can do, gave me options, and even offered water! The end result I didnt have to pay an arm and a leg and they are super quick!
These guys know exactly what they’re doing. know exactly what CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. and know how to make things happen! I like that in any type of business. Definitely coming back for repairs and/​or smog checks!

I brought my 1981 Pace Arrow RV in without an appointment. They guys were great and had me fit in in about 20 minutes. They are friendly and had me in and out of there within half an hour. The shop is clean and i agree with the other poster… the fish tank is awesome! Price for smog and certificate: $ 90. I will be bringing the rest of my vehicles here when needed and I reccomend this place highly.

I went here at the recommendation of the place of where I normally do a smog check, but I had to find a «Test Only» station.
Went in for a smog check yesterday. These guys were old school, and knew how to give you the best chance for passing smog, e.g. doing it properly and allowing the engine to warm up.
As the other reviews said, in and out in about 10 –15 minutes.

Call ahead & shop around before heading here. K&T quoted us $ 69.95 per car (inclusive of certificate) for our initial registration smog test. Got the cars tested at another smog station (76 Gas station) 1.2 miles away for $ 20 less per car. Took roughly 15 min. per car.
