Fourth Street Summit Center Ballroom

I had a remarkable wedding there. The view at night is amazing. The event planning team is responsive. Even though small mistakes but for the most part, it is a wonderful venue.

My step brother and his wife had their wedding reception at this venue last weekend. I though that it would be classy and nice. It has to be, right? It’s part of The Fairmont Hotel. I was wrong.
First you park in the garage and at the elevator, until you step into it, you don’t realize what floor or where you should be going. You have to go to the 7^th floor to a lounge area where they are serving appetizers in a non air conditioned room. All of the air conditioning was in the room that we weren’t aloud to go into yet until the bride and groom arrive. In the meantime you stand around and cook. And I really mean stand as they only had maybe 20 chairs for a party of around 80 – 100. My husband and I were resourceful and found some chairs hidden in the employee area. Others started to follow.
They finally opened the doors to at least let the air flow threw but still would not let us sit down.
When we got the OK to find our seat there were no name cards just tables that said «reserved» this was more than likely the horrible wedding planners fault but whatever.
Immediately they started to serve champagne or sparkling cider. About 30 minutes later there was an announcement that this was done by mistake and they went around and took all of the champagne away.
The plate chargers, silverware and painted chairs were all horribly scratched and the servers were morons.
There was a candy bar set up that apparently no one was supposed to use until later and they did not guard it until 30 people had already taken advantage.
The steak dinner was just OK and the servers didn’t offer any other beverages even though they were on their trays and were available during the toasty appetizer time.
I was not able to stay too late as I had a prior engagement. I’m not sure how much money my Dad and his wife put out or how much the brides family had to pay for this unprofessional experience. I was glad that the bride and groom seemed to be too happy to notice the flaws, my step mother was quite aware though and told the staff how she felt. I would never recommend this venue to another bride and groom.
