Hotel staff was great. Informative and allowed me to check in early! Beyond that I was relatively unimpressed. The suite was clean but more blah looking that anything. We ordered room service late one night and the food was not good. The Caesar salad lacked any flavor at all and the fries weren’t cooked well.

I came to town to watch the Stanley Cup Finals.
Location is stellar for any downtown event. Close to the light rail and pedi-​cabs are available on event nights. Priced very competively
The moment I walked in I was greeted by Timothy at the front desk. Great personality and eager to please. I requested an early check in and he was more than happy to see if this was possible. Not only was it possible, he made it happen. After chatting with him I learned he was also a server in the restaurant. Being a San Jose native before relocating to AZ, I already had a few favorite spots that were on my list. His personality and his great attitude swayed me to enjoy dinner there. His service skills shined more here as he made a meal a great dining experience !!! I hope the Sheraton 4 Points realize what a valued employee they have… I know I certainly did !!

Couldn’t have picked a better location to everything!!! The VTA (public transit) was at the door step. Restaurants, Museums, San Pedro Market, were all walking distance! I have zero complaints!

Really odd parking that is horribly overpriced. You park in a public lot and then go out to the street & around to get into the hotel. Geez guys. How about a door from the parking lot directly into the hotel?
Nice that the Wifi is free and works better than most hotels. Too bad it’s not secure.
Rooms are way way out dated and super loud. We faced the street and heard the trolley running and whistling all the time. Hallway smells old.
I appreciate all the old buildings in town but this one could do with some TLC. Now I know why it was cheaper than the other hotels in town.
Not sure I would recommend it.

Overall a pretty decent place to stay given that downtown San Jose can feel quite sketchy at some points. Keep in mind that this is probably a century old building that was remodelled– so, the room sizes are definitely small. And I mean really tight after you include your bag and stuff lying around– it can feel claustrophobic. It’s possible to make our room feel bigger by removing the gigantic armoir which houses the TV. Instead have the TV hang from the wall?
We also had some issues with the fridge. The door does not close tightly so, the food inside did not cool down as it should.
However the following made up for the small room size: friendly and accommodating staff, proximity to shopping, restaurants and attractions.

Not an easy find. The parking lot was a little sketchy. The attendant was not really watching the lot. It was a little confusing looking for the front door to the lobby. The cell service in the hotel was very spotty.
Room was very small but clean. Not much of a view unless you count the construction outside.
The front desk was very nice. Our room key was defective and had to exchange for a new one several times. Check out is at noon and it was a breeze. We just had to drop off the many keys we were given.

I’m being generous by giving this hotel this rating. The level of staff incompetence is beyond me. I checked in Monday evening at which time the staff at the front desk they can’t accept the corporate credit card used to prepay for my entire stay without written authorization. I had them use my personal card for authorization of 1 night so I could get my travel department to fax the appropriate paperwork the next morning. The proper paperwork was faxed and received by the front desk. I was assured everything would be taken care of. I woke up this morning to find my personal credit card was charged again. The hotel general manager had not arrived at work as of 7:45.
I’m at a loss as to how to resolve this, but I think the BBB will receive a complaint shortly.
I must say this is my first time at a Sheraton hotel and very definitely my last time.

The staff was very friendly. Tim especially, we drove five hours and he checked us in as early as 9:30 am which was great after a long drive.

So much fun to stay here and visit the lounge/​bar at night. Parking is $ 25, but whatcha gonna do? My car was safe overnight, the attendant was very friendly. Front desk was great. Room was great, The San Jose Suite, rm 420 was very nice and comfortable. So easy to walk around and soak in DTSJ. Hope to return someday and get the same room.

Comfortable room, staff is accommodating, decent sleep, location of hotel is great. Nice restsurant.
The bad: windows do not block noise. Hard time sleeping with the outside noise. Hotel is a bit dated although not a deal breaker.
Parking + fees are rediculous. Look for other options.
I won’t be going back here but ill miss the location.

I only stayed here one night but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! My expectations were low knowing that it was near the airport, whereas airport hotels tend to be a bit sketchy.
The hotel looks like it has been recently renovated. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms were clean and upgraded. I checked in really late (around 2am) and didn’t feel comfortable parking in the garage and walking, so the security guard parked my car for me.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and the staff working at the front desk was always very friendly and helpful. I can only think of reasons why you should stay here. Here are a few. Rooms are nice. They have clean, thick, good quality towels. Their beds are clean, nice, and comfortable. The shower tub combination had good water pressure. They give out complimentary water bottles. There’s a convenient VTA light rail station (Paseo de San Antonio) just outside of the hotel, so there’s really no need to rent a car. The convention center is located just about a block away.

This is my second review for this hotel. The first one, I told you how great the front desk staff is… the restaurant staff etc.
This time, I want to tell you about the hotel manager, Randy!!!
I come here each week, and last week instead of flying home, I flew my family out here to join me. No problem, right? I book in advance, I’m all set… but my family came out last minute. So I needed to get upgraded! The hotel was sold out, because it is a great hotel and staff. But Randy and staff stayed on top of the bookings, and as luck would have it, they were able to upgrade me to a suite for the last night of my stay so that my family could join me!

Spent a weekend in this hotel and really enjoyed my stay. It’s conveniently near restaurants, bars, entertainment, shopping, ect… you really don’t need to drive. They to have parking, if you do want to drive. The building is clean and the staff were all very friendly & helpful. There’s a nice restaurant attached to the building — Mosaic. Try it.
I would recommend this hotel to friends & family and would certainly stay there again. The rooms are a bit small, but, aside from that, it was a very nice stay.

With various shops, restaurants, and light rail station across the street, Four Points by Sheraton is a small charming hotel in downtown San Jose. The exterior of the hotel has a historical feel, and it’s a pleasant stroll going outside without the need to drive around. You can walk across the street to Plaza de Cesar Chavez from The Tech Museum and San Jose Museum of Art; it is only three blocks west of San Jose State University. Our room was roomy with 2 queen beds with white comforters, TV, mini fridge, and coffee maker, no microwave though. The bathroom room door is a sliding door, so you can’t lock it if you need to. The hotel has all you need, but price can be a bit expensive depending on when and where you booked it. Came here on a business trip, and it was $ 209 per night at best value rate!

My Girlfriend booked this hotel weeks prior through a 3^rd party website. What she had told me was the hotel took $XXX.XX from her bank account the day she booked the room. She called the hotel and they said yes, they take $XXX.XX right away and that her room is paid and ready for when she checks in. Because usually at most hotels money is taken when a visitor checks in in person, not weeks ahead.
One thing that did annoyed me was the 3^rd party site with the Four Points. My gf said she paid extra for the EXTRAs like hotel gym, and a gym pass to the local gym just outside the hotel, and free parking. NOTE!!! this hotel does not have a parking lot under the same name, so you will have to pay for parking $ 23 over night! every night! We thought we were clear and didn’t have to pay because of the bundle she bought ahead of time. WRONG! We had to pay $ 23 for parking. I have never been to one hotel that charged for parking, especially when we got a high end room.
When we checked in, the male front desk clerk said he needed a CC on file for a deposit of 100.00 which is fine with me. I handed him my card and he explained that I will get a full refund of 100.00 when we check out on time. No big deal. We asked about the parking fee of $ 23 and explained my gf paid extra and why isn’t parking free? He said the 3^rd party people jipped us or something like that. So then he asked if we’d like to deduct $ 23 from our $ 100 deposit. I said No, I’ll pay the $ 23 in cash when I check out at 11:30.
The male clerk was very informative and nice, offered us a map of San Jose, notify us about the Happy Hours at the Mosaic Restaurant, and the gym options. Too bad there wasn’t a continental breakfast though.
When we entered our room, it was humid. But overall the furnitures were clean, stain free, the floor was clean, the bed was nice and white, their was a huge desk for me to do some work, a huge mirror by the door, walk in closet, and a sweet bathroom with more goodies. That was a really nice room! No complaints here.
The only complaint I could say was when I checked out, and got back home. I checked my bank statement and only $ 74 was deposited back to my card. before all this even happened, the day I checked out and handed my room keys back and asked the male clerk where do I validate my parking ticket. he told me to take it to the parking attendant and I could pay in cash there. So I did, the African american man with a strong accent says «twenty fee dollars» so I paid my parking fee. I asked is that it? he said yes. and i thanked him.
Okay back to the bank statement. So i called the hotel the next morning and asked about my deposit money. The same male clerk that had told me I’d get my full refund said did I have a receipt of the ticket. I said, the parking tenant didn’t give me a precept because I paid in cash. The clerk said he’ll review the video cameras and find my ticket stub and would get back to me within a day or two.
100 was deposited back to me. Thank you! but the miscommunication through front desk clerks and parking attendant could have been prevented. The next time I visit downtown San Jose, I may consider this hotel again, maybe the second time experience will be a better one, now that I know to not spend extra on 3^rd party sites and still have to pay for parking!

Queue Space Invaders… this is an odd, interesting, confusing, and cool hotel. It seems we drove up to the wrong side of the hotel, we saw the parking lot that had a big «FULL» sign on it. There was no area to check-​in or temporarily park that we could see, in fact — we couldn’t even tell where the hotel entrance was. I jumped out to ask the valet where it was and he replied, «Checking in?» Mind you, I still wasn’t sure this was the hotel. I replied, «Yes?» He asked for my name, gave me a ticket & told me to park anywhere I wanted. Well, alright! We found a spot and then walked through the lot, down the street and around the corner. It turns out, the entrance is on the side of the building, past the restaurant entrance, and down the alley way.
We got lady hostess and our friends got the man clerk. Lady hostess was courteous enough but we kept hearing man clerk ask out friend’s questions that we didn’t get. Did we need a cart? Did we want to check out late?
We headed to our rooms, we had both reserved the same day at the same price. I pushed the elevator button, put one foot in the phone booth sized lift, turned around and b-​lined for stairs. To get to the 3^rd floor, we had to go up carpeted stairs, then go down a hallway and go through another room to the cement stairs.
The room itself was nice and clean. It had a mini fridge, 2 waters, a huge closet, a full length mirror, coffee maker, a desk, and a very large bathroom. I loved the doors in this place, they were very heavy sliders. The view out the window was disappointing, just walls and an odd roof. Our friends told us to join them in their room for a cocktail. We got lost twice trying to find it, the arrows in this place are confusing! When we went into their room, our jaws dropped. It was double the size of our room. You could hold dance lessons in the open area between their bed and the TV. They had a view of the apartments next door. Maybe my buddy slipped the clerk a tip? I don’t know how the same priced room can be so different.
All in all, this place was great. Everything was clean and had a new feel to it. There’s a good sized lobby. When we got up too late for breakfast, the front desk recommended a great brunch spot down the street. The bed was really comfortable and it was very quiet.

I took a chance on this place even though the other reviews were a bit dicey. This hotel was a cheaper option in downtown San Jose so I went with it. I had no problems at all. The front desk guys were friendly and helpful. The room looks renovated. Clean and comfortable. The restaurant downstairs is very nice and the food was great. The only complaint I have is the tv reception. The sound kept going out every few minutes.
I would still recommend this place.
