Established in 2009.

After 30 years in the construction business, I started building chicken coops 5 years ago, and am having the time of my life building quality coops for appreciative customers.

Bill built a coop for me and it was EXACTLY what i needed. He was so easy to work with – and changed out the roof (without hesitation) when I asked. His coop was perfect for our needs.
I wrote a book called, «The Backyard Chicken Fight» and told Bill’s story in the book – it made for a fun addition to the «cooping» chapter.
I often see coops around Idaho. I always know which ones are Bill’s designs – because they are top quality!

I have NEVER written a 5 star review except in Europe.
Bill, hands down… is the most professional, kind, decent, professional and EXTRAORDINARILY talented Gentleman!
These pictures, while good do not clearly define these coops, the strength, and color and craftsmanship.
We have had everyone in the neighborhood looking, and all have been so impressed with the his work.
Again, very responsive!

Well worth it. I had built my own coop, but it was to small once our chickens had grown. Called Bill and ordered on of his Jerome coops. He came and deliver and installed it. Since then our chickens and us have been in heaven. Well worth it and if we ever need another one, I know who I am going to call! Thank for a great coop!

Bill is the MAN! I will echo all the other 5-star posts. I was all set to buy a coop from
in order to surprise my daughter for her birthday. When I missed the shipping date, I looked on Craigslist and found Bill’s post. Bill was able to come the NEXT day and put in our amazing coop… All I can say is: WOW. He came to my house in Pacifica, assembled the coop onsite, and it is perfect. BTW… my father-in-law, who is a Senior Project Manager in building large-scale apartment complexes (and not super forthcoming with the compliments) was VERY impressed.

Bill came to my house in Scotts Valley, CA a few months ago. I ordered the 4×8 double run coop for my new chickens. He was very professional and answered all of my newbie chicken owner questions lol. My coop is beautiful! He stained it with a really nice redwood colored protectant, per my request.
I had Bill come back a month later to double the size of the yard. I got a few more chickens than I originally intended to: D
All in all, great guy and great coops! If I ever need another one I know who to call!

Bill built a coop for our 5 chickens and 2 separate runs several years ago. After struggling with subpar coops, I was so glad to discover Bill. The coop is structurally sound, well built and the chickens love it. It is water proof and easy to clean. If you need a coop, look no farther.

We’ve had our Bill Finnigan coop now for two years and we still love it. We had a unique area and he was able to customize two of his models to make two coops with a long run in between so we can separate birds with the middle door closed, if we want to. It has been handy for introducing new girls. Bill delivered what he promised, when he promised it. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants an awesome coop. I especially love the wall that slides out so I can easily clean out the coop shavings with a rake into my wheelbarrow for curing so I can use it in my garden.

Bill, owner of For The Birds CC, just delivered my new, custom built chicken coop and I couldn’t be happier. For The Birds CC is based out of Boise, Idaho (so he is the real deal) but he comes down to the Bay Area every 6 – 8 weeks to deliver coops. What he delivered was quality craftsmanship that will last for years and years to come. Much better than any pre-fab unit shipped in pieces that will only last a year or two. Not only if is highly functional, but it is nice to look at. You can buy one of his standard units or he can customize just about anything you want.
Bill delivered the coop to my house, set it up for me and answered all my questions. I would recommend him to anyone thinking about raising backyard chickens.
