History

Established in 2009.

Fan of CPR is a mobile service, so we come to you. We use the American Heart Association Guidelines. If you are in the healthcare profession we offer continuing education units (Category 1). The hands-​on training includes use of the newest CPR manikins, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) trainers, and the most current and effective techniques.

Andrew F.

Business Owner

Andrew Fan is a registered dental hygienist and has been practicing since 2004. He grew up in the bay area and has his Bachelor of Science degree from UC Santa Barbara in Neuroscience and Biopsychology.

Andrew loves to learn new things all the time but his passion has always been teaching. He is currently a dental hygiene instructor at Carrington College and has been there since 2007. Eventually this led him to teach in a different capacity; he became a CPR instructor in 2008 and later started his own company called «Fan of CPR» in 2009. What’s more important than educating people on how to save lives?

The CPR classes taught by Andrew follow American Heart Association Guidelines. He has instructed a variety of different groups including gym trainers, boy scouts, dental offices, and first time parents. He is an avid believer that learning should be fun. Although learning how to save a life is no laughing matter, Andrew is able to balance being fun and serious synergistically.

I contacted Andrew to instruct a CPR class for our private dental practice. I’ve had other instructors in the past … and well there’s a reason I was looking for a new one.
Andrew was by far the best instructor ever! He is vey informative. We learned how to perform CPR on infants, children, and adults. We also learned the appropriate way to use a defibrillator. He makes the class interesting and fun. Out of all my CPR classes his class is by far the one I’ve retained the most information from.
I have recommended him to friends who are new parents and other offices. They’ve loved him. I have no doubt you will!!!

I work at a school, and contacted Andrew about training 15 employees.
He responded immediately, and was incredibly professional and adaptable. I wanted the training for a specific day, and even though he seemed to have something else going on that day, he moved things around to accommodate my request.
Unfortunately, we ended up doing something else for our training, which is so sad because I was looking forward to meeting Andrew and experiencing his very entertaining (according to Unilocalers) training.
When I canceled the training, he was so gracious and kind! Hopefully I can attend a training by Andrew someday.

I completed a class a few months ago after having a new born and needing to renew my CPR license.
I found Andrews class to be very informative and easy to understand. He has all the equipment to practice CPR on adults, infants and how to operate a defibrillator. His personality provided an enthusiastic and fun way of learning something that is life saving and important for all to know. He’s very knowledgeable and confident with his CPR materials and answered all of our questions with ease. He even gave good tips about important phone numbers to keep, that I didn’t get from previous CPR classes directed from someone else.
Next time I need to renew my license, I will definitely go back to Fan of CPR. It was a fun class and I feel more confident in my CPR skills.

I organized a CPR certification class through Fan of CPR for my company’s emergency response team. Andrew was friendly, punctual, and came prepared. Our class had about 15 people, but he was entertaining enough to keep everyone attentive. With that many people «on the clock» it was important to get the material taught in an effective way but in a short amount of time. Fan of CPR delivered. We’ll definitely reach out to them again at renewal time.

I attended a CPR class with Andrew a while back and highly recommend his class to anyone wanting/​needing to be certified in CPR. During the class you learn how to perform CPR on infants, children and adults. He also covers how to use a defibrillator and what to do if you encounter an unconscious person.
I can honestly say that after attending this class I feel confident that if there was ever a need I would be able to successfully perform CPR to save a life. This is such an important skill to have for anyone. You never know, you could end up saving a life!

This is the CPR class to take! I have taken the class twice, once for my license and once to renew. Andrew is a great CPR instructor. He always answers any question you have and keeps his class interesting and entertaining the whole time. Plus I never have that classroom type feeling when I take his class. Andrew is relatable and makes you feel comfortable. I would 100% recommend this class to anyone!

I have had CPR classes in the past but Andrew really made this class fun. He is very knowledgeable and his sense of humor makes the class interesting. I took the class last Wednesday; very informative, fun class and I didn’t fall asleep LOL. I would 200% recommend Andrew. He is awesome!!!

Professional, informative, and at all times kept interesting for what can sometimes be a tedious subject. After decades of taking provider CPR classes, and at one time an instructor myself, I can say that Andrew is an excellent instructor. I’ve taken two classes with him, over the span of 2 years, and I am impressed with how up to date he is regarding the content of his classes. CPR is CPR, but the powers that be (Red Cross and American Heart Association) continue to tweak the their courses, changing compression ratios and other formulas, which can make their exams quite challenging. Andrew at all times keeps the student aware of this information so that the final exam, while still quite challenging, is not insurmountable.
Would I recommend him to others? Heck yes! He’ll even set up the course to be done in YOUR location.
Intelligent, competent, and ability to come to you… it’s a no brainer! Get Andrew to come to your office for your next CPR renewal.
