I called and left a message asking about service/​repair of the fans on my wood burning fireplace. As is most often the case when I leave a message with a business I didn’t really expect a response… Kevin called me back and left a message on both my mobile and home phones stating they don’t service wood burning fireplaces, but gave me the contact of someone who does. Pretty amazing customer service, if you ask me. If I ever choose to convert to gas F&S would be my first choice. Thanks Kevin!

These guys are the BEST. They came and diagnosed our problem but, since they didn’t have the part required did not charge us anything. We used our home builder to get the part. When the installed part worked poorly we called them back. Not only did they fix the problem but, they performed value added services to ensure that our fireplace would work perfectly. Don’t waste time with others. Hire F&S. They get the job done right.

This business is wonderful to work with, they are quick to return calls and live up to the reviews on Unilocal.I called during the holiday week and Kevin was able to squeeze me in during the busy time of the year. He was on time, explained all work that he was doing and helped me understand how to clean my fireplace insert. I plan to use them again for any repairs and service.

Kevin came out this morning (sat) and quickly diagnosed our fireplace problem (broken ignighter) and swapped in a working one and we were in business!
He laid out blankets to work and was clean and efficient, despite me asking a ton of questions :)
I would definitely use them again! Cash or check only, no credit cards, otherwise, prefect service.

I recently moved into my home and was trying to figure out how to get my gas insert fireplace to light. Had given up and called these guys for service. Daniel called me back the same day and offered to walk me through how to figure out relighting the pilot over the phone. He spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me discussing how to do this as I looked at the controls etc. After hanging up I tried what he described for a few minutes and found success and now have a working fireplace. Couldn’t be more pleased that he took the time to walk me through that — could have easily required a service call and charged me the minimum. Will keep you in my contacts to call for any maintenance/​repair I need in the future.

Cannot recommend more highly– excellent! Daniel came to my house the day after I called. He not only fixed my fireplace but explained everything and told me what maintenance problems to look for in the future. Look no further if you need a fireplace repair! He is everything you want in a repairman. He arrived on time, knew what he was doing and left everything clean.

Thanks to everyone on Unilocal for the reviews on f&s. They are as great as everyone said. Kevin came out on a very timely basis. Cleaned my gas fireplace, glass never looked better. Had an issue with the gas shutting off within 3hrs of use. He listened to my explanation of my problem. Found the problem right away. Explained the reason why it was doing it. It works just perfect now.
I had always used another company for at least 10yrs. when I explained my issue to them, they sold me another remote that didn’t work. Returned to them. They really didn’t understand my problem. Kevin told me the original remote is the only kind that would work with my brand gas insert anyway. He took the time to explain a lot of things to me. My question is why oh why did I keep using that company!!! should have used Unilocal a long time ago. Thanks again everybody.

Highly recommend Kevin! He called yesterday and was able to come this morning, and it looks better than ever! Definitely recommend him and will use them again!

We have a gas insert fireplace that had never been serviced in its 10 year existence. It wasn’t emanating much heat so Kevin came over (on time) and gave it a cleaning in less than one hour. The culprit? A spider had spun a web in a key component. Apparently, this is incredibly common. I didn’t know we were supposed to be getting the fireplace serviced every 3 years or so. I’ll definitely be calling them up again next time. Very happy customer.

We love our fireplace as it warms our entire home and makes things cozy in our house–
Plus keeps us from having to turn on our hear very often– so when our fireplace stopped working, we were super bummed out. Kevin at F & S fireplace systems got us an appointment within the week and worked with our busy schedules.
Kevin knew exactly what he was doing and got the job done quickly and efficiently– he explained everything he had to do and what had been wrong and was patient with my questions– he even was kind enough to let my dog hang out with him as he fixed things– when he left our dog Mac watched him out the window and starting whining– he loved him!
Our fireplace is now warming our home within minutes of him leaving. Both Daniel and Kevin were awesome to work with and we would recommend them to everyone with a fireplace.

Came out same week and fixed and cleaned my 2 gas fireplaces! Excellent and reasonable!

Once again Daniel and Jose came to my rescue! I needed to get my fireplace checked out and ready for the winter and I also had some issues with the fan not working properly. They were responsive, professional, and did an outstanding job!
So lucky I found them and once again would recommend them to anyone!

Kevin cleaned our gas fireplace and removed a spyder from the manifold. Fireplace now works fine. Very prompt and courteous work. Highly recommend F&SW.

We recently purchased a home and the gas fireplace wasn’t working. The previous owner did not know what the issue was, and had never used it. Expecting big issues, I had F&S out to take a look. Within a few minutes Kevin had it up and running. Amazing! He went above and beyond, educating me on the fireplace and how it worked and advice on long term care. Super friendly and helpful and couldn’t have been happier! They even cleaned it! Will be calling them again if there is an issue and for ongoing maintenance!

F&S came by our place in San Jose to fix our fireplace which had stopped lighting. It turned out that the issue was with the power transformer, which they were able to replace quickly and get everything back to a good working order. They gave the fireplace a nice cleaning while at it and everything is working great.

My wife has spent the last two weeks calling a vendor in San Bruno that had been recommended by our builder. To boot, they had installed our fireplaces and the crappy electronic ignition systems in the fireplaces. Imagine, that after two weeks of leaving messages and given that they were the builders in the first place, they never responded. What a business?
So, I picked up the slack (honey do?). I reached another vendor in San Carlos and they told me they would be happy to send out an «inspector». I told them I didn’t need an inspector. I needed my fireplaces to be fixed. They said that they needed to certify that the flue worked properly before doing any work. I told them that the flue and my rear end worked perfectly and could we stop the bullshit? They said well this is just the way we work. I said great, I’ll call you tomorrow.
Desperate to get our fireplaces working, I searched through Unilocal and found this wonderful vendor in the San Jose area. I called Daniel and was shocked to get a phone call right back later that day. He asked me if it would be okay if a technician came by at 7am the next day? Are you kidding? Of course!
So, today, Kevin shows up and he goes about fixing all four fireplaces in an incredibly mature, competent and professional attitude. And here I am right now with all of them blazing writing this review.
Folks, if you live in the Bay area call these guys. And forget the other clowns. These guys are the real deal. They know exactly what they are doing. They are prompt. They are very well priced. And they are very professional.
These guys are terrific!

Daniel and his partner came on a rainy Sunday and offered stellar service. They took care of removing their shoes outside and covered the floor with blankets to ensure they would leave the floor free of debris and dirt. They spent about 30 minutes explaining the problems and what they were doing to fix them. They were extremely professional and friendly. The fireplace no one was able to fix is now working like new and the price was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend F&S.

After 2 other companies failed to fix my gas fireplace, 3^rd time was the charm thanks to Daniel Snyder at F&S. He was prompt in returning my call, kept in touch, was on time and when he showed up, he promised it would be fixed. Turned out he just had to make several small adjustments and the unit is working perfectly. Wish I had called him first.

It happens that he was also the one who had installed our 2^nd gas fireplace seven years ago (still working without any problem).
He told me that some parts in my Lennox fireplace needed to be replaced. He showed me exactly what to order. I googled and ordered online (good price too).
Daniel came back the same day, yes the same day, the parts were delivered and changed everything. My fireplace is almost new now !!!
