Ordered a basic grilled ham and chedder on sourdough, which was on the menu, and it took them 3 try’s to get it correct. By the time I got my meal everyone was finished with their meals. No discount was given and I had to eat by myself… not good service.

This place is on the pricey side as most breakfast places go(dishes average around $ 12 – 16, as opposed to $ 10 – 13 for other places), but the food quality is pretty good. Certainly it is much less crowded on weekends than other places I’ve visited, and my party of three was able to get in right away on Sunday at 10AM, which is a nigh impossible feat at nearly every other breakfast place I’ve tried. Furthermore, this place is part of a large corner strip mall, which means parking is never a problem, even if you have to walk a little bit. I ordered the pork chops and eggs; the pork was seasoned quite nicely and they give you two thick, generous chops and three eggs with it, as opposed to just two eggs that most other places provide. As for the side dishes, it’s obvious they take a few shortcuts with them. The corned beef hash my roommate ordered, for instance, was obviously from a can, as opposed to the hash at Black Bear which is freshly made. The biscuit gravy, as well, was pretty good but I’m pretty sure it came pre-made as well. I do have to give the line cooks credit, however, for preparing everything as well as can be expected with such ingredients. Everything cooked, including the side of hash browns, came out correctly, nothing over– or underdone and all of it well-seasoned. The service was adequate but it took them a bit longer than it should have to bring us our final check. Still, I’d certainly come back, perhaps to try a lunch dish or two.

The country fried steak got a lot smaller and the omelette size as well. but its still good. I’d skip out on the pancakes and get the Swedish crepes. The potatoes are really good mixed in with onions and bell peppers. They also take to go orders.

Great place for Breakfast# 4 stars # I ordered the chile Relleno with Eggs and beans and corn flour … it was so good I did not end up finishing it all because I got so full. which is better than not eating it at all. I had a breakfast date with my daughter and she liked her eggs with sausage. Well, I am satisfied My server Alma, was pretty attentive. We went in at about 7:49am on thursday morning and we did not have to wait at all, we got seated pretty fast.

The costumer service was reslly nice. He really made sure that we’re satisfied with our order. Actually it wasn’t a long wait till the food served to us unlike Denny’s that you have to wait for so long although they don’t have much costumer. The food was really good. RECOMMEND this plave!

Been coming here since I was a wee little baby and it was and always will be my #1 breakfast place in the area. The service is always great and the atmosphere gives a very homey small-town feel. It’s great. The servers never rush you and the food is great.

So glad we found this place, a total surprise. We just wanted to try out some place new for breakfast and ran into to this one on Unilocal and wanted something close to East side of San Jose, and I’m glad we did. There’s a bit of a wait but it’s ok. The line move pretty quickly. Love the menu, this place is more of a egg place: lots of scrabble and omlette choices. What I usually get for breakfast is a typical breakfast of sunnyside eggs, sausages and hashbrowns, and the combo usually comes with pancakes. I’m not a big fan of ordering pancakes for breakfast as I feel like I can make it at home, but somehow their Pancakes are such surprise. I don’t really know what’s the difference but their pancakes are awesome. I added the blueberry topping and it made it so much more special. Just love it! Definitely one of my top places to go back.

I give this place a three star because of the service. Honestly, bruh, if you hate your job, quit. Don’t make your guests feel uncomfortable. People come into restaurants for the food as well as the hospitality. Otherwise why would we spend this much money on something we can easily make at home. Anyway, the portion is pretty decent, the steak with mushrooms and mashed potatoes(lunch portion) was mouth watering(my friend actually drooled a little bit LOL).

I’ll start off with that I was greeted right away and seated in a quick manner. My order was cooked to perfection. Eggs were cooked extra runny, hashbrowns deep fried, country fried steak cooked to where I could use my fork to cut the steak and of course my toast with extra butter. Definitely a place to come to for friendly family service.

My boyfriend introduced me to his favorite breakfast place. They give huge portions for a reasonable price(he said they raised their prices recently, but that’s understandable these days to keep up with the increasing costs of food). I’ve been here several times since, and they have been extremely consistent. I haven’t had very memorable service, but it has always been above average with no complaints.

This spot is my TOP if not only choice go-to Brunch spot in San Jose and it should be yours, here’s why: 1. Biscuits & Gravy: portions were beyond satisfactory 2. Coconut & Banana Pancakes: self-explanatory 3. Serving Mimosas, Michelada’s, and attached Bar area ***most menu items under $ 10!

This was my second time here and I was pretty disappointed with the food. We were sat quickly and the service was great but the food was probably as bad as Denny’s. I ordered the French Toast combo(5 slices, 5 pieces of bacon, and I substituted the eggs for hashbrowns) $ 11. While the portions were larger than average, the french toast was dry and the bread tasted old. The hash browns were barely browned and mostly undercooked which is disappointing because I like my hash browns crispy. The only good thing about my meal was the thick and crispy bacon. I’ll stick to brunch at Bill’s Café!

When I grow up I want a place that will be my regular breakfast joint. You know, like in the movies. I have found it. I can grow up. Every food is amazing. The coffee is sometimes luke warm(decaf, I’m sorry, everyone hates it anyways), and there have been a few hiccups but the staff is super nice! They are always smiling, and understand that burnt biscuits happen. Speaking of biscuits, these are the best biscuits in gravy I’ve found anywhere in the bay area. Amazing. Bonus round: Huge mimosas and you can get hammered next door then eat steak and eggs.

My bf has been wanting to take me here for breakfast for a while now and today we finally woke up early enough to make it happen and WOW, am I glad that we came! The name and décor of the restaurant aren’t that great but boy is the food yummy! So don’t let anything keep you from coming here, just know the breakfast is amazing. ***French toast: not made with challah bread which is my preference, they use Texas toast thick cut and it was just as good surprisingly. Not soggy at all, crisp on the outside and warm and moist on the inside. Egg batter is really good. ***pizza omelette: tastes exactly like a pepperoni pizza in an omelette ***Kids chocolate happy face pancakes: my daughter scarfed those down ***Biscuits and gravy, oh-my-gosh the best I’ve ever had! Biscuits are warm, moist and fluffy and the sausage gravy was so tasty, it reminded me of thanksgiving

You definitely get a lot for your money here! The portions are huge and taste darn good. The wait staff was awesome – they were all friendly and attentive. We ordered omelettes and no one finished theirs. The omelettes use 4 eggs in addition to whatever comes with the one you ordered, it turns out to be huge! I’m not a small person either. Most meals come with a choice of 2 pancakes, swedish pancakes, or some other bread options. When swedish pancakes are an option I always opt for that. You also get to pick from hashbrowns, country potatoes, or grits. One of those usually comes with your breakfast meal. I love the hashbrowns here. Just the right consistency on the browning on the outer but still a nice softer texture on the inside. They also have other items. It’s a big menu. They have lunch and dinner options too. There is a bar connected too if you want to drink – hence the name«pub»? The inside/outside is no frills and that’s no problem. The reason why I didn’t give this a perfect score because I SWEAR, this place and other companies are owned by the same person because the food/items/taste/flavor/method of cooking etc are very similar if not the same! I’m talking about Holder’s Country Inn and Southern Kitchen, there is another breakfast place I went to by SFO off 101 and same thing too! They really are almost all the same thats why I question if it’s the same owner different name. Regardless, you can’t go wrong for a family breakfast/brunch here. Good for the whole family.

Oh my Lord… I have been here a couple of times and each time I was limping when I walked out(a good thing). First time I got the fried chicken. The chicken was on the sweet side. I don’t know if it was the batter or what but I enjoyed it. The chicken comes in small, fryable(not a word) pieces perfect for munching. Mike cake with eggs, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy was delicious. It was a little gelatinous when it was brought to me… could’ve been warmer. Overall an awesome meal. Chicken was the star! Second time I ordered the Belgian waffle breakfast. I was disappointed in the waffle. Really had no flavor :(but I slathered it with enough butter and syrup to get over it. The sides helped too. I still ate most of it and thought it to be a fit breakfast. Evergreen is a great place for breakfast and lunch. There is a lot of seating and the service is attentive. The prices are adorable and the portions are HUGE. It’s the kind of place you take someone who is craving a giant breakfast or for someone who is visiting from out of town. None of that Denny’s crap. Go Evergreen!

Best breakfast place in ESSJ! If you are from San Jose, guaranteed you are going to run into someone you know here. This place gets very crowded– especially after church on Sundays. I love the American-Latino breakfast blend on the menu. The waiters are«ok” — but I do not blame them since they are waiting on so many people! The portions are large! The bathrooms are disgusting(every time I enter these bathrooms– guaranteed I will see a spider in the stall)! Best family place for breakfast– bring them all– kids, aunts, siblings, grandparents!

Good breakfast/brunch option in Evergreen. Was staying in the area last year and craving breakfast. The roommate suggested Evergreen Inn and Pub. Since I’d never been here, I thought sure! I’m always down to try someplace new. *Mimosa(light on oj) $ 6.50 *Hector’s special with country potatoes($ 12.95): eggs scrambled with spinach, ground beef, onions and mushrooms topped with jack cheese, comes with country potatoes, toast and jelly *Ranch style breakfast with hash browns($ 12.95): two large pancakes, three strips of bacon, three sausages, three eggs and hash browns *Waffle bonanza with ice cream($ 10.95): strawberry, blueberry, apple, banana, peach, pineapple with ice cream I got the Hector’s scramble which was perfect cuz I normally add mushrooms and cheese to a Joe’s special. That’s basically what this is! The waffle bonanza was a nice sweet additional to brunch. I liked that they offered a variety of different fruits. I couldn’t finish this, but the roommate was a great help. The restaurant has your typical breakfast/brunch type of vibe. Service was good and low key. Just what I wanted with breakfast. I would definitely come back for the Hector’s special! Love my eggs with meat, veggies and cheese. Yum!
