Darling-Fischer Garden Chapel

I had a close friend pass away and we decided to use Darling Fischer after meeting with their representative, Nicholas Welzenbach. He and the staff there were absolutely phenomenal and meticulously ensured every detail was addressed and covered. Even though they deal with the grieving members of the deceased daily, he was still able to convey a sense of sympathy and caring and it felt like we were dealing with a friend vs a business.
The preparations, planning and service were 110% to our satisfaction and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone when the time comes.

After receiving some prices for funeral arrangements for my dear dad, I found this place to be reasonably fair. Mr. Frank Tong was super helpful with his genuineness and information. We really appreciated him taking the time to talk us through the necessary steps on planning a funeral. He gave us pricing options and made useful suggestions. He was clear and made things easy for us in such a hard time. He would always answer his phone when I called for questions. Mr. Tong speaks both Vietnamese and English.
Funeral day went smoothly. He would help with prayers during service and made the day go fluidly. Facility itself is somewhat dated, but it was clean. Get the big chapel for service if you can. The smaller rooms are kinda scary looking with the outdatedness. Is that a word?

Thank you so very much to the staff at Darling-​Fischer, especially Mr. Frank Tong, for providing such care to our family during such a difficult time. Being a family full of organizers, we were concerned that we had to provide everything from computer cables to easels, but we didn’t have to worry about any of that as DF had everything that we could possibly think of to make our grandmother’s service go smoothly.
DF is also superbly culturally-​competent, being in San Jose and all, but they had every single thing that we could need for our Catholic/​Traditional Vietnamese funeral for our grandmother, from the banners, incense trays, to even the music in the background.
On the day of the service, they moved all the flowers we had received (17 standing arrangements in all) and somehow still got to the church before us AND made it to the burial site before us so that things were already being set up. They also took the sign in books everywhere for us. All these details that we missed — something that none of us remember on the day of the actual service since we were all an emotional wreck after seeing my grandpa close the coffins.
I am seriously so thankful and so impressed with the level of service at DF-​Santa Clara. Death is unavoidable but at least establishments like these are around to make things less stressful for everyone.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the warm and gentle care you provided these last days. Your staff was wonderful, warm, caring, and always professional. I can’t say enough good things about Joe Soares, father Alan Arnone and of course yourself. Even our hearse drivers were tops. I want to specially thank you for how great mom looked… that was the first thing I saw and I said out loud «Mom Looks Great» You folks have been in this business for so many years, but you Betty treated us like we were your first guests. Continue to be as gentle and genuine as you are.

Whoa… is this pretty morbid to state that I’m a fan of a place that helps souls reach eternal rest. Really 4 STARS for funerals! Ya? I’m probably going to have to label myself a sicko.
Well, let’s clear the facts, I am not reviewing a funeral, death, and particular service. I am simply stating that the staff at Darling Fischer were very accommodating upon our visits. Although their facilities are pretty dated, they are very clean. This chapel serves the portuguese community very well with its facilitators who are fluent in the language as well the culture and traditions.
I pray that no one has to be forced to use their services at Darling Fischer, but otherwise, expect to be taken care of very well here.
