Not bad. Dicor is old style. Windows in our room very dirty. Lobby the windows are pretty dirty also. Continental breakfast was OK but not great.

Been trying to give Choice hotel chain a try as they can be more economical that other national chains. Haven’t had much luck with Comfort so thought I would stay at the so called more upscale of the Choice brand. The hotel room is large. The décor is like stepping back into the 70’s or 80’s. Pale/​Dark blue tile and wallpaper in the bathroom. Wallpaper curling. The furniture is old and worn. Not sure which was harder the floor or the bed. The location is a little off the beaten track depending on where you are going in San Jose.

The guest service is a bit slow but the hotel is nice and in a good area. The rooms are nice and comfortable and everything is upgraded from what you see in the pictures. Other than that, guest service is pathetic. Gave us extra 15 minutes for checkout and then threatened us to charge more. I would rather sleep in my car then stay at this poorly services hotel. No wonder they are always empty.

You pay for what you get. So the stars are based on the value of the accommodation. This place is the cheapest hotel level lodging I can find that provides free parking, complimentary hot breakfast, and pretty close to downtown San Jose (15 – 20 minute drive on surface street during rush hours).
They don’t provide tooth brushes or tooth paste. So make sure you bring some!
They don’t have good coffee… But there appears to be a good coffee place right next door. Or Starbucks is just down the street.
The hotel is pretty old but it is relatively clean. They have a gym, complimentary breakfast (think fresh waffles), free parking, spacious rooms, clean towels, plentiful stock of tissue and toilet paper in the rooms, and honest maintenance staff. I forgot my iPhone charger in the bathroom and was able to retrieve it afterwards.
They have two coin operated laundry machines so that can come in handy at time.
I have stayed here twice and will probably stay here again and again.

OK hotel at average-​for-​the-​area price. Checked in at midnight local time after flying in from the east coast; clerk was very polite and patient with my 3am Eastern time zone brain. Check-​in quick & easy, offered WiFi password without my having to ask for it. Beautiful landscaping, small pool area looked nice but too cold to swim. Very quiet — occasional conversation as someone passed our room, not a sound from other rooms, zero plane or traffic noise.
Room was clean, comfortable beds. Down pillows. Nice big towels. Unusual room architecture, had a sort of diagonal cathedral ceiling which was interesting. Nice TV, a little bigger than most hotels. Plenty of room for four people’s luggage. In-​room coffee a little better than average. Inexplicably, housekeeping didn’t take away dirty coffee cups the first day (we stayed four nights).
No outlets near bed for phone chargers etc, had to leave phones & tablets across the room. Microwave plugged into a grounding adapter, plugged into a 99-​cent ungrounded extension cord, which isn’t entirely safe and may not be legal.
Room was clean, but maintenance was lacking. Jacuzzi tub was clean but caulking all around was split and peeling, fill spout clearly improvised with some sort of membrane building material (like «ice guard» used in roofing) wrapped around a pipe sticking out of the wall with a typical tub spout at the end. Shower head sputtered and leaked badly. Damaged /​peeling wall paper. Weird little trap door for access to plumbing behind tub, unlocked, filthy in there, do not peek inside the little trap door. Jacuzzi motor seemed unusually loud.
Breakfast area was nice, but very warm. Very attentive man making sure everything was available. Toast, bagels, muffins, bananas, yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, and of course Belgian waffles. No proteins of any sort except yogurt — no eggs, bacon, etc.
All in all, I would consider staying here again.

My coworkers and i booked 9 rooms for 5 nights for a weekend convention. Two rooms were to checkin one day later. Coincidentally, when the two rooms tried to checkin, the computer system went down. Okay, fair enough.
It was 11pm after a long flight and we had to be up at 6am. The receptionist, Jay, would not let us checkin to the reservation or as a new walk-​in. He couldn’t tell us when the computer will be back up and expected us to wait in the lobby until it does. After 20 minutes of bickering, he finally agreed to manually (take a photo copy of ID and credit card) check us in to the readily vacant rooms and find the reso on the computer later.
Jay was either too lazy to do a little extra work, or just didn’t care about the guests. Probably a little of both. He followed the procedure to the letter instead of the spirit of it. I understand it’s procedure to do it by computer but it’s not our fault the computer was down. Was he afriad we’d steal something? Coworkers from the other 7 already checked in rooms came down to verify identity too. Jay clearly lacks common sense and customer service. One star. We will not return.
Rooms are as expected in this price range. It is clean, wifi works, large tv channel selection. The free breakfast at 6−9am is amazing though. All you can eat waffles, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, yogurt, juice. And they are big portion and delicious! Two stars.

This hotel looks like it has been remodeled in the past several years. The lobby is beautiful, staff is polite but not really friendly, maids are sweet and rooms are very clean. Beds are comfortable, wifi worked fine, rooms are spacious, refrigerator and coffeepot in room.
On the downside:
HUGE SAFETY ISSUES — the smoke alarm was disabled (plastic bag around it) and when I pulled the bag off, it started to squeal. I called the office and they really didn’t care — put bag back on it and it stopped. Second floor fire door at back staircase would not close — hinges were either broken or skewed. Back staircase is open so anyone can come in. Ants in bed.
NOISE: we were in the back of the hotel, but the hotel is on airport approach, and right across the street from CalTrain, and you could hear the freeway noise from 101. Choose a room with odd numbers instead of even, and it would probably be a bit quieter.
AMENITIES: continental breakfast was minimal — they did have waffles, but only fruit was bananas, yogurt was all very sweet, muffins had been pre-​cut in half. Coffee pots were not labelled, you had to warm tea water in microwave, only tea was Lipton — no decaf. Microwave in room was ancient — took 8 minutes to warm one cup of water.
Go next door to Southern Café — not cheap, but massive amounts of delicious food, some Mexican specialties and great breakfasts.

Disgusting! Ants crawling on everything in the bathroom and windows, blood on the inside of the drapes. I complained to the night manager and he nonchalantly said «oh, well yeah, it’s hard to keep the ants out. Call back tomorrow morning and if we have a room we will try to move you»… TRY? This place is dated — 1980’s décor, peeling wallpaper, musty upholstered chairs and mildew smell from the AC unit. Luckily Norris at the front desk this morning didn’t hassle me about an early checkout. I received a refund from Hotwire. Only good things were the clean pool and decent continental breakfast in the AM. I would not recommend this place… They just don’t seem to care about maintenance.

So we decided to stay here to save some money,
Would not do it again. wifi was down when I called they told me to call the wifi company,
Gym was dated, only tread mill and a old weight machine.
It was a safe place to stay ‚
Breakfast was ok, a little crowded.
The rooms were kept clean.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! The rooms were dated and had very few outlets. The water tasted like it was never treated. The jacuzzi wasn’t heated. The wifi was abysmal. They were supposed to charge me $ 295 for two nights, but ended up charging over $ 1000!!! They also refused any responsibility and made me go thru my bank to have it resolved. Worst customer service I’ve had in a while. This hotel must hire people to post to Unilocal because these other reviews are bullshit.

I stayed overnight for a presentation (flew in for the presentation, stayed the night, and flew out next morning). It’s a decent place to stay with reasonable rates that is relatively close to the airport. The third floor, where I stayed, is really warm because heat rises and gets trapped in the hallway and rooms. If that’s an issue for you, ask for a first-​floor room.

First, the online information said that the hotel was 3 miles from the SAP center and it was actually eight miles so now it was going to cost me a large mount of money for a cab. Secondly, I had booked a room with a Jacuzzi and I had been planning this trip for 6 months only to find out that the jacuzzi didn’t work. I was told this after I checked in once I was trying to fill it up. The staff did not inform me upon checking in. The room was eventually discounted. But then upon checking out I was charged both room charges for the initial price and for the discounted rate so for the rest of my vacation I was short $ 150. I eventually did receive the refund once I was home from vacation. Finally, the jacuzzi room had mold all along the bathroom ceiling, I did take pictures.

In general Silicon Valley has a lot of these mid/​low end hotels. This one is pretty similar to its peers… And it’s just as disappointing. Tired and outdated finishes, worn and low end amenities. Thin walls and noisy. A crash pad at best. But if you are looking for a cheap crash, it’s cheap, relatively clean and not overly scary

This was a good deal. 90 bucks, and the room was great! Hot tub wasn’t working but breakfast was great, reception was great, nice clean, well maintained. I’d definitely stay here again.

My wife and I needed a quick 1 day getaway and I saw this place and decided to give it a try. I’m very happy and the lady at the front deck was extremely nice and pleasant. The room is a little out of day but the price is HARD to beat. Very surprised about how affordable the suite was and it was huge!!! I would definitely stay here again. Very pleased!!!

Fast and free wifi, quiet, and clean. My husband and I go to San Jose annually for memorial day to work at a local convention and this is the first time I’ve ever gotten a good night’s sleep at a motel on a holiday weekend. I was a bit dubious as the motel is right by the train tracks, but I didn’t notice any noise once we were inside. Usually there’s loud music or partying or something keeping us from sleeping – there was a bit of partying in the parking lot, but it was all at a very reasonable volume that was drowned out by the air conditioner. There was vomit in the parking lot Sunday morning (don’t you love holidays?), but it was cleaned up shortly after we had left for the day, which is more than I can say for a lot of other places.
Very confused by people saying this was in a bad part of town? It’s just a little underdeveloped and there are a lot of independently owned shops. There are also a quite a few people that enjoy loitering, but nothing was broken into. I imagine they were just enjoying a nice night.
The room was dated, but clean. Mattress was comfortable. It came with shampoo (which is more than I can say for the Motel 6 we stayed at the day before checking in here). Above all, it was relatively soundproofed. I can’t complain.

This place was my go to place until last time. Not only did they change their policy and require a credit card up on check in for incidentals but there was bed bugs! I pre booked my room on
and the room was paid for and because I paid with and only had a debit card they almost did not let me check in. I had to fight to check in. That is ridiculous to require a credit card like that. I have been to hotels that can charge an amount up front to a debit card and refund it back if there is no incidentals. The fact that I prepaid and still had to fight to get a room shows that this place is going down hill. Then I get into my room and find bed bugs in my bed. Had to trap one and show them proof in order to switch rooms! I was not even offered any kind of discount to make it right. Just a room switch and an attitude. So unclean rooms and a new inconvenient check in policy, I think I will be staying elsewhere from now on. It is a shame too because I liked this place at one point and I would regularly stay here. Never again.

Have you ever just wanted to get away for a day, relax somewhere else away from home? My boyfriend and I were due for a much needed day-​cation away from the house.
Clarion Inn wasn’t our first choice, but we got stuck with it because the hotel we normally go to was fully booked.
I’m going to start with the room. We had to get two queen beds instead of one king because it was the only one available. We didn’t mind because we used one of the beds to set all of our belongings and called it the «dirty bed» while we used the other to sleep. The photo of the dirty bathtub posted about a year ago by Michael W. is very accurate. I don’t know if we stayed in the same room as he did, but ours had dirt stains also.
I loved that they provided not one, but TWO kinds of pillows. If I could remember correctly, it was down feather and down alternative. To be honest, I didn’t even tell the difference. The only reason why I know they had two types is because they have a note on the desk stating so.
I thought it’s very awkward how this room was made. The sink and coffee pot and bath necessities are right next to the bed.
Although this location is right on Monterey highway, I don’t remember hearing loud traffic throughout the night. Or maybe because I was way too drunk to pay attention.
One big plus is that they have DirecTV! I never seen that at other hotels. That’s important to me because I love me some TV!
They had a microwave and a mini fridge. I think it was a cooler because it didn’t really get too cold. I’m sad that we left our Famous Dave’s leftovers and Grey Goose bottle in there. That thing gave me a hangover, a bad one, so I guess it’s a good thing we forgot it.
On to the customer service… We got to Clarion at about 2:50PM knowing that check-​in is at 3PM. The tall man with glasses told us that our rooms weren’t ready and to come back in 30 minutes. We didn’t mind because The Plant shopping center was a few stop lights down the street and we figured we would just kill some time there. We ended up coming back at 4:20PM. This Asian girl with waaaaaay too much Bath & Body Works body spray on was at the front desk. She too told us with her lifeless personality that our room wasn’t ready and recommended that we come back at 6PM. Now what the hell are we gonna do until 6??? At that point I was super frustrated at the fact that they weren’t ready. Does it really take that long to clean one room? She still checked us in and gave us our keys but of course we couldn’t go in until housekeeping was finished. It was funny to me because the tall man from earlier even told us, «You know that lady that just walked out, she just checked out right now» I’m thinking, so??? What does that have to do with anything? Then it dawned on me that maybe this room that the lady checked out of 4 hours late was ours.
We eventually got our room at about 5:15PM because my boyfriend literally went to the room to ask housekeeping how long would it be.
We didn’t mind all the hassle and the wait because of course, sh*t happens… But not once were the staff apologetic about the whole thing. We didn’t get at least one «Sorry for the inconvenience».
Will we stay here again? Maybe. But it would be our last resort.
P. S. Yes, the jacuzzi/​swimming pool area was of course out of service just like everyone else said.

Large spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Some amenities, then there is the neighborhood, well it’s a little seedy. Then you wake up ready for breakfast and that’s where this place falls way short, they have bread, no eggs no yogurt actually if you like bread products and cereal you are okay. For their rate they could at least offer what a Rodeway would offer.
Based on location and the skimpy breakfast I have cancelled my next stay there and scheduled elsewhere.

This may very well be the nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. In my youth I frequented Motel 6, Super 8, and Red Roof. This hotel is worse. Why? I’m going to start with the urine smell in my room. Beyond that the absurdity of there being NOT ONE SINGLE power outlet accessible in the room (other than one in the bathroom)
New television… that’s about it. Cant really think of anything nice to say about this place.
