The food here is pretty good The Camarones Diabla is spicey but good. I usually get the Veggie burrito it’s good and keeps you full most of the day. They have other great dishes also Try it out you won’t be dissapointed

Food is always great! But the prices are now ridiculous. 4 years ago a burrito was about $ 7.50 now is about $ 10+ are you serious. Also they now weight the amount of meat put into each entrée. Seriously wtf!

Jacked up the prices like crazy. $ 10 for a burrito! And they don’t give you much meat. Not worth it anymore, my last time.

Wow, talk about massive portions. I just ordered a chivo(goat) torta and a carne asada(beef) french fry. I could barely gulp down half of each and I eat my fair share. The fries were nice, thick cut and crunch. The toppings were fresh and yummy. The torta was made fresh and toasted before being put together. Quickly assembled and quickly devoured. I also got the agua fresca, mango in a large size. Definitely recommended. I spent a few more bucks than I normally do at a mexican joint for just me but with so much food, it was a good deal.

I used to get the vegetarian burrito but haven’t been as impressed by it as I would like to be. I recently switched to getting tacos and think that is what I will do from now on.(Though I admit I still need to try the carne asada fries!) Prices cannot be beat though! Very reasonable prices and fresh food! :)

I came here last Saturday to buy ingredients for taco night with my friends. Everyone loved the marinated pork I bought(can’t remember what it was called) and the guacamole was bomb! The guac is a little expensive for 7.99/lb but i think it’s worth it when you don’t have time to make your own guac. Definitely coming back to try the food at the taqueria. This location is also very clean and the people who work here are very friendly.

Burrito bowl is so amazing. Make sure to ask for extra meat and YES you will need to share this.

Perfect place to pick up everything I need for fajitas. And if I don’t feel like prepping the chicken myself they even sell chicken already marinated with peppers and onions, all you need to do is throw it on the grill. However, the pre-marinated chicken in adobo is better IMO. I’m not a fan of their home-made guacamole. Their produce is more expensive than the Asian market or next-door Bargain Market. Oh, the Chavez brand tortillas are pretty good.

3 stars because the food is awesome, if you go to the taqueria. However, as a grocery store, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s expensive and it primarily caters to the Hispanic community. I like it but I only go there for the pan dulce or the food in the taqueria.

I want to write, «Indeed, indeed, indeed,» but I don’t know why. Indeed. I’ve only really tried the taqueria, which is more of a supermarket taqueria than I expected it to be. I know, I know; it’s in a supermarket, so why would I expect anything else? But it’s also Chavez Supermarket, that strange Bay Area chain that has succeeded and won hearts and expanded and expanded and expanded. It seems humble, and maybe it is, but there’s also a great deal of pride bubbling beneath the surface. Maybe it’s something else – maybe the stricter supermarket food-safety and –handling standards couldn’t help but bleed over into the taqueria side of the operation. I mean, if you’re told over and over and over again to do things a certain way for 95 percent of your job, why would you let things slide the other 5 percent? So maybe it’s just too clean, too regimented for its own good. My burrito was OK. There’s definitely a reason it took me so long to review this place. Indeed.

This review is for their CARNEASADAFRIES. Way better than that la vics /iguanas stuff. If you like real melted cheese that DOESN’T drench your french fries, then these are for you. The fries are thick and stay crunchy because they just melt shredded cheese on top and don’t soak it in thay overwhelming stuff la vics does. They give you lots of delicious steak and gauc and sour cream and salsa. They do carne asada fries the right way.

I love this place! The only Mexican market I’ll go to now. I shop mostly in the meat/deli section and everything is delicious! I’m addicted to their fresh yogurts and the chicken salad(both in the deli case) and I get whole chickens and marinated beef often which is always fresh and decently-priced. Never had a problem with service, everyone there is courteous and polite.

«Why do people that have no personality and suck at Customer service take a customer service job?» If being friendly and making the customer feel appreciated is not your thing, go work in a different field, it’s really that simple… That is the case with YESSICAPACHECO(cashier)…The butchers are pretty on point for the most part and the cleanliness is generally good but what this place lacks is Customer service oriented cashiers… Not only do you not get greeted with a smile, their communication skills are lacking and by the way, making fun of a customer is the golden rule that should never be broken… David Chavez and Sons, do yourself a favor and hire people that can smile and be friendly with a Personality rather than people with entitlement issues. Safe to say I will be taking my business elsewhere and will be telling all my family and friends about this experience…

There are no Mexican grocery stores near my house. Chavez is a bit closer than Mi Pueblo, which is where I used to shop. One time I was on my way home from work and decided to stop by Chavez. Ever since then I shop at Chavez. Their produce sections is always fresh and well stocked. Price wise they are a little more expensive than regular stores. Their meat and cheese sections are very nice. The meat counter has every type of meat you can think of. I usually buy smoked pork chops there. I also buy Mexican cheese there. The Mexican pastries are also very good. They are soft and baked freshly every morning. I haven’t tried the food from the restaurant yet.

Great place for Al Pastor, but you need to ask for the meat right off of the spit if it’s roadting. Super Burritos are large and will fill you up. I sick to the Al Pastor and the Carne Asada. The place is clean and the food is always good; can’t go wrong.

We come here to buy meat at the butcher when we want to make Mexican at home. I LOVE the Al Pastor that they sell – pre-marinated. It is so ridiculously delicious. The asada is good too but pales in comparison. Prices are decent and service is quick. Produce can be sub-par. Make sure you inspect everything really well. I’ve grabbed things before and been home before I noticed bad parts. Taqueria is good, but I’ll go elsewhere for that. I use this as a market.
