Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph

We recently got married on 12÷31÷14 and loved everything about this church. We worked personally with Antonia and she was very helpful. Since there are a lot of weddings at this Cathedral each year it was hard to get a hold of anyone in the beginning. But once you did and you were on the calendar, everything worked out. The requirements to get married were very basic, but we enjoyed the journey together. We chose to attend the day of recollection that takes place at the church from 8 – 5. We got to hear from multiple married couples and their experience together. We enjoyed the activities which challenged each couple to open up even more to one another. The other requirement is the Natural Family Planning course, baptismal records, and you may select any priest you want to marry you as long as they are available. Everything went perfect the day of and I have Antonia and Clarissa to thank for their hard work and organization. Thank you again so much.

Our 2^nd stop during our Visita Iglesia 2014. I think most of the churches are closed in the morning and only open by noon…
The church was closed when we arrived. There were alot of people (vagabonds and street dwellers alike) waiting outside when we arrived. I think they were waiting for something when we arrived. After a couple of minutes we saw them lining up getting free food from the church’s office window.
It is not my first time to come here so I have seen how grandiose the inside is. However we were still able to marble the outside structure while we recited 2 stations of the cross and then left afterwards.

This place is beautiful! It’s open to the public. I was hesitant to go in at first, but I’m glad I did.
They do tours as well. I need to come back for this.

The Cathedral is #5 on my top 10 list of FREE places to visit while here in San Jose.
Just walk right in, go under the giant dome, and look UP.
Nothing else needs to be said.

I’m not a religious person but I was in awe at this cathedral’s beauty. There is art work starting from the ceiling to walls.
Being there was kind of awkward. It was so quiet and you can feel the faith that the people have in thier beliefs.
If you like art, you may want to pop your head in for a second and believe me, it will only take a second. =)

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph is one of the most beautiful Catholic Churches in the area. The music of the pipe organ fills the sanctuary with sound that almost seems to come from the heavens.
I’ve had the privilege to photograph a few weddings here, and I can say that it is also an amazing place for a wedding, and provides so many opportunities for making great photos.
