I regretfully found out why San Jose Camera recommends C.R.I.S camera repair in Arizona and not this place! Hands down I screwed up trying to clean my camera myself (Nikon D-​810) this place told me that I scratched the sensor $ 420. I used them because I was going to New Mexico for a vacation photo shoot and needed the camera ASAP, they promised fast, reliable repairs.
I had to call them as they did not call with an update or respond to e-​mails, went to get camera it was not right, they told me to come back 10am the next day. I did still not right, had to cal them (again) FINALLY it appeared OK. Did a few (standard tests shots appeared to be fine.
In New Mexico did some fine resolution, high resolution shots, only when I downloaded did I see every shot had what appeared to be smudges on images, I even changed lenses to confirm it was camera, not lens (it was the camera). I immediately disputed the charge, they not only did a poor job, but ruined a 6 day nature, landscape photo shoot!
Here is the deal I am a professional photographer and own an Art Gallery and this place is NOT for high end equipment! At this point I may pursue a civil suit (for the additional time and money they cost me). Being that I deal with many artists/​photographers in the Bay Area one would think they would want to provide some level or quality work and at least customer service… They did not, which shows me that they just don’t care. Learn from my experience and it is worth it to use a professional and factory recommended service center (which they are NOT factory recommended). Bottom line I screwed up and should have listened to SJ Camera and sent it to a proper repair facility.

Brought my Nikon lens in for repair and had to wait three weeks to get it repaired because they had to order the part from Nikon. The service repair price was $ 200 which I am OK but my biggest complaint is their lack of communication. I dropped the lens off and was told it would take them 3 days to evaluate the lens because they were so busy, but they would call me. Well they never called so I had to call. I picked-​up the lens to use it while they waited for the replacement part to arrive from Nikon. They said they would call me when the part came in. Well, they never called me so I had to keep calling to confirm the part came in. So I brought my lens back and was told it would take 1 – 2 days to repair and they would call me when it was ready. Guess what, they never called me and it sure felt like the lens never would have been repaired unless I kept calling them.

They inspected the camera from a craigslist buyer. I also think that the place is pretty small and has little in forms of selling: such as, camera, lenses, and flashes, but they mostly focus on repairs. I wish they had more stuff to sell because lenses are expensive and to get them at a cheaper price would be great.

This was the second time this Canon DSLR needed some TLC. It would not turn on. I explained how it stopped soon after I had downloaded the recently clicked photos. The guy took one look and saw the problem said it would cost $ 150 and it would be ready in a week. They called after a week and said I could pick it up at any time. Great service, would definitely use their service again if needed.

I took my Nikon d90 to San Jose camera first. According to them, it wasn’t worth repairing. I took it here, after checking Unilocal.I’m so glad I did. Completely repaired, good as new, for around $ 150.00. Thank you!

Expert & quick repair! My pop-​up flash was stuck, giving me error 5 on my Canon 20D. I thought about trying to fix it myself and reviewed a few YouTube videos. I decided not to chance it (they suggested WD40 and I thought I could really mess up the whole camera). In 15 mins it was fixed and I have a 90 day warranty on it. :) So glad I had an expert do it right!

Wow their store front is kind of run-​down and hard to find, but their service was great!

They were able to fix the shutter of my old canon rebel. They worked on it in a timely manner and it’s been a year and it is still working great! They are life savers!

Occasionally, My camera fell and UV filter broken and jammed. I tried everything on youtube, even with pliers: P However, I could not detach it. It bothered me several days. I checked online and located the store. It took the technician, whom I even didn’t see back in the room, just 3 minutes to get off the UV filter. Amazing, I should have turned to him. Thank you very much! I definitely saved the business card.

I brought my HI8 video camera in. Hasn’t worked since 2007. They called me the same day and gave me a price and an estimate of a week for the repair to be completed. This took about 2’weeks longer than estimated and that was ok but I was the one that had to call to get updates. When I picked it up it worked great and has ever since then. I needed a working camera to convert all of my tapes to a digital format about 44 hours and it hasn’t disappointed me.

They have always fixed my cameras and I’ve been happy about that, but…
I took them an old video tape to transfer onto a DVD and it took THREE MONTHS to get it back! I know it was probably an oversight, but I expected to not be charged because of this. The owner only took $ 5 off of the $ 20 charge. I told them this was a trial for me to bring my other tapes to them (about 20+). I’m disappointed. I think it was not good customer service.

My son’s Canon DIgital Rebel experienced a common failure last week, its CF card slot stopped functioning. I had been warned about this and yet we still managed to reach that point quickly. Since its a really good starter camera with all the features, I figured a repair was in order.
Checked around Unilocal and found a place really close to us and so brought in he camera for a checkup. The gal at the counter took one look and diagnosed the problem, a bent pin on the CF reader. Common problem based on the way those slots are designed. Bummer. But repairable by replacing the CF card reader. Would take 3 working days and costs $ 120. So I bit the bullet and let them start on it. They were meticulous about checking in what I gave them so as not to mix anything up or forget to return anything.
And three days later, I checked in with them and voila it was good as new! Well worth the time and cost to keep a good camera working.

My expensive Canon SLR lens broke after falling from kitchen counter, took it to Camera Repair & Audio service for diagnosis, they charged $ 25 for diagnosis and finally fixed the lens for $ 165 (including initial $ 25 towards repair charges). But when i used it outdoor first time after few weeks, found lens auto focus was not working fine during zoom, so took it back to them and they agreed to do free diagnosis, wow, and after they found the issue, they agreed to fix it for free as part of their warranty and they fixed it with in 1day and lens was working fine.

Since I have a not-​so-​secret ability to break all electronics within a 10-​foot radius, I wasn’t surprised when the zoom on my DSLR stopped working. Argh! I took it here for a diagnosis and was sure I had broken the zoom mechanism (read: $$$) but the tech here inspected it and in seconds (I mean, seconds!), figured out what was wrong. My lens had caught and was jammed. He clicked it into place and it was working fine! Phew! Thanks again.

I took my lens to this shop to remove Step-​Up Adapter Ring 72– 77 mm stuck on 72 mm lens between 72 mm lens hood. They fixed it in two minutes with their super secret instrument… no harm done to lens, adapter ring or lens hood

I took my camera to this repair shop. I had been there before and had good results. When my camera was fixed and returned to me the battery was missing. They insisted that I gave it to them without a battery. It is $ 50 to replace. I told the girl at the front desk that I know my battery was inside when I gave it to her. She responded that it was not. There is no record of what exactly I left with them so I have no recourse except to write this review. The repairs they do are good, but this situation made me very unhappy.

The only camera repair store in the area, and with a 3 ½ star rating, I was a bit skeptical. Boy, was I proved wrong.
I came in with a broken Nikon SB-​600 flash unit and the girl working the desk, Anissa, took it in right away for consultation, charging a $ 25 «check up» fee. Although a fee for check up may make us groan, they apply this fee to your repair costs in case you decide to fix it with them (woohoo, money not wasted!)
Anissa called me promptly after it’s check up and they discovered the problem that the bulb was blown out, and it would take over the weekend to fix (I brought it in around Wednesday). However, I work for a nightclub and I needed it done by Friday for work.
Carlos, one of the repairers, went to work on it immediately and worked on it AFTER the closing hours of the store AND let me pick up the unit after closing as well, around 6:30pm on the Friday I needed it. The flash has worked flawlessly since.
Oh, and above all else, I received not only a free expedited service but Anissa also gave me a 10% student discount on top of it’s charge.
Don’t be fooled by it’s rather «tacky» appearance, you’re here to get your stuff fixed — not to hang out in the lobby and be amazed by it’s architecture.
These people are very, very kind and got the job done efficiently and effectively not to mention over the top service. Thankful and highly recommended.

I can’t say that it isn’t costly, but then again … there really is a huge gap in the market for a shop like this locally that can repair and take a look at your camera when something is broken.
At first I must admit I didn’t think they were legitimate … because they literally run this out of a house, and it’s a little janky /​shabby looking. However, the staff inside are INCREDIBLY nice, helpful and happy to try to explain to you to an extent what it is you need to understand about the services you need.
They do a 24 hour turn around for $ 130(??) for sensor cleaning for any DSLR.
I came here because I swear some random guy I asked to take a picture for me and the bf broke my 28 mm prized prime lens. It was extremely loose and was not focusing correctly at all. I was worried it would cost me way more than a few hundred to repair so I might as well have got a new one … but thankfully Camera Repair was able to fix my lens in 2 days and it did NOT cost me an arm and a leg!
There is a $ 25 diagnostic fee but it goes towards your repair. This will definitely be my go-​to now for camera related repairs!

This place looks a little iffy when you walk in… but wow, the guy is so helpful! I was having some problems with my Nikon. I wasn’t sure if it was something wrong with the camera… or the user. Let’s be real here, totally possible I’m just an idiot. The guy listened to what I was telling him, played around with some settings, and gave me some great suggestions to see if it would solve my problem without having to take it apart. (translation… i’m probably just an idiot, but he was nice enough to not put it that way!). he said to try it, and if it doesn’t work, then bring it back. hey, if it works and doesn’t cost me a bunch of money, how can i not be happy with that!!! thanks so much!
