Calvary Chapel of San Jose

The verse by verse teaching is good. If you like an upbeat and fast paced style of worship, this place is not it; however, if you like a mellow and slower pace of music in worship, this is it.

This church had literally helped me transform my life and my family. They make the bible make sense to you and make you feel at home. It’s not judgemental at all. They have great programs for children and everyone over meet had been very kind!

I’ve been to many churches in my life, and I definitely can tell you that as soon as I started going to Calvary Chapel San Jose I felt like part of a family. The college group is great, the pastors care, the children’s ministry is great and events as well. The whole Bible is preached, verse by verse too :-)

I am who I am. You are who you are. This is one of the few places that I feel comfortable attending a pleasant Sunday service at. I never feel any high anxiety techniques that you sometimes come across in other religious in an attempt to «scare» you into staying.
Everyone here is pleasant, from the congregation, all the way to Mike, the preacher. A young, honest faced guy who really genuinely cares about spreading the honest word and positive teachings of the good lord.
I can honestly say that this is one of the few places I have had the opportunity to strongly feel the spirit.
Very relaxed, open atmosphere. Meetings at 9 @ 11 all Sunday’s

Calvary chapel is not about the pastor or the the trappings of playing church. It is about loving God through knowledge of who Jesus is, through studying the scriptures. The bible is taught and applied to our lives to bring about the character of Jesus. Without faith it is impossible to please God and faith comes by hearing the word of God. The bible teaches that leaders are for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry and at Calvary Chapel this is taking place. The concept that the scriptures are inspired by God and they mean what they say has not been lost here. In fact you are encouraged to challenge and study independently to see if what they are teaching is true. This is a great blessing to be part of such a vital church.
