Best preschool in the Bay Area! The teachers are very friendly, helpful, and caring.

We absolutely love this school and have no complaints about it. My daughter actually started out at Little Tree Montesorri which is a bilingual Chinese preschool at the age of 3. She was very difficult and would cry when she had to go to school. It could have been because she wasn’t ready, or she was going half day, but after 6-months of going, she still was unable to adjust. While there, she learned her alphabets and was able to write her all the letters in uppercase. She even learned basic Chinese phrases and songs. One of my coworkers recommended Building Block and it was very convenient to where we worked. She raved about Miss Ann, Miss Vijaya, and Miss Sylvia and how her son learned how to read and she didn’t even have time to spend working with him at home. She also shared how he learned proper manners and behavior. When we visited the school, my first impression was that it was very small, but clean. We decided to enroll both my daughter who turned 4 and my son who was 2-years old. My husband and I were really nervous about how they would handle going to school full time since they were used to staying home with both of us for the summer. My daughter took it like a champ, and my son only cried 2 days and then that was it. It was such a huge relief to find a school that both my children love going to. Within a month, our daughter surprised the both of us by writing her alphabets in lower case and also reading and writing 3-letter words that rhymed. We were completely shocked and amazed. Now she’s in Kindergarten and reading at a 3rd grade level and has good number sense being able to add and subtract 1 and 2 digit numbers. My husband and I are both teachers. What we love about this school is that it is small and they individualize learning specifically for each child’s needs. They also have a great environment where there’s a wonderful balance between academics and social interaction. They embed their teaching in fun activities and projects, and my son who is now 3 years-old is thriving at this school. We absolutely love Building Block and we don’t ever want our children to leave. Funny because they never want to leave either when we pick them up!

My 3 yr old, waw a pretty difficult kid, he used to cry a lot, not go to anyone. we tried couple of home based day cares, but due to lack of structure, in keeping kids engaged, he didn’t like it there. Finally Teacher Ann greeted us, when we went to check Building Blocks out, and 1 week of mild whining later, my Son begs to be sent there! He is slow in speech, naturally as he was at home and didn’t really get a chance to hear conversations. Now his Speech has picked up too! We can’t believe it, when he cries on Saturday, that he wants to go to his presschool! We plan on sending him to Cupertino school district school 2 times and week, and continue sending him here, 3 times a week! Highly recommend Building Blocks to all parents, they are made to do craft, art, story, writing and more, very strctured Circle time, and assistant teachers are very loving. For my non potty trained, clingy son, the transformation past 4 months is amazing.

Building Block CDC has been great for us. My son started at this school as soon as he turned 2. Ann, Vijaya, Sylvia and Terrie are really good teachers. Building Block gave my son a head-start when he joined kindergarten, apart from academics he also learned to socialize with other kids and to be well behaved. The director Ann has a lot of years of experience which shows in the way the school is run. Ann connects on a personal level and goes out of her way to help kids and parents. My son is now in 2nd grade but we all still have the same relationship with Ann and her teachers and stop by once in a while to meet them.

Ann, Vijaya, Sylvia and Terrie have been the mainstays of the village that has helped me raise my two children. My daughter started there at 3, and my son at 2, and I am so sorry he will be leaving as he finished Pre-K and heads for Kindergarten in the Fall! Ann has the perfect balance of play, art, movement, academics, and character. She is a pro, and I have to say that my kids are successful largely because of the school environment she has created. My daughter(now 7, in 2nd grade) is the top reading and math student in her second grade class, and has fond memories of the teachers and friends from her preschool days. Check out the Facebook page, too!
