MY experience was totally different from some of the others posted. I thought he was excellent in diagnosing things that some seasoned doctors had a difficult time with. It was a rough year for me and I was bouncing from this doctor to that and no one could figure out what was wrong and Dr. Farris totally figured it out every time. It was so reassuring to have a doctor take care of me thoroughly every time I came in, addressing all my concerns. Do you know what it’s like to be in severe pain and you are spending your full days bouncing from office to office w/​o answers? I’d sit down with him and twice his diagnoses was right on. Something no one else considered. He was never short with me nor seemed rushed and always more than polite. I was disappointed to see him leave. Very difficult to find physicians with that sort of chair side manner.

I have been going to Dr. Farris for two years, and I should have my head examined. He does not seem to like the sick, and has always seemed grossed out by the fact I showed up.
On the last visit I was having problems with bone spurs, he took a quick look and recommended X-​rays, fine. Then I tried to discuss another small problem and he said, you made an appointment for your foot, nothing else. What! He knew I was upset, and was not coming back in the room.
My appointment was at 8:00 am, he came in at 8:04, and left at 8:11. I could hear his nurse outside say, do you want me to bring in your 8:30 appointment, they are already here? He obviously had time for a two minute discussion.
Last week I received a letter saying that Dr. Farris was leaving the San Jose Medical Group. They must be on to him.

He’s a quack. I’ve been there twice and he’s not diagnosed anything right. Thought I’d give him one more try and when I called to say I’d be late,(I was stuck in traffic) was told that if I wasn’t there in the next 10 minutes I should reschedule — after sitting on hold for 25 minutes!
Last visit, he diagnosed a cough from across the room. Wouldn’t come near enough to really look, just said it was a sore throat. Today I was trying to go back to see why the cough is still there.
Are you kidding me? Some kind of doc. I just took 2 hours off work for the appt!
Needless to say, I would NOT recommend him and will be looking for a new doctor.

Dr. Farris is the man! He runs a tight ship. His staff is professional and empathetic. He is never late to his appointment and always checks in to say hi and let you know he’ll be right there. I’ve seen him a couple times and each time was very professional and courteous. He took the time to talk to me and asked a lot of questions to help him troubleshoot my issues. He is calming and thorough. I’m lucky I found Dr. Farris. He makes going to the doctor’s a not-​so-​scary experience. I highly recommend him without any question or reservation.
