Bearcat Development Co

It appears that Barry Freeman has changed the name of his company from Bearcat Construction to Bearcat Development. I can only assume that this was in order to get his contractor’s license reinstated. We hired Bearcat to remodel 2 bathrooms in our Cambrian home in 2013. His work was so bad that we ended up having to hire an attorney to file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board and file a claim against his performance bond. Both organizations conducted separate investigations and both found that his work «…willfully departed from accepted trade standards…». The State Board suspended his license and levied a financial penalty. The bond company paid us for the damage he caused up to the limit of his bond, which was $ 25,000. This still wasn’t enough to fix every thing. I hired other contractors to fix the problems and I still had to come substantially out of my own pocket. Despite all of this Barry has never acknowledged any wrong doing. Buyer beware, especially if he is doing work that is out of sight like under the house or behind sheetrock. He is not to be trusted. I had to select at least 1 star in order for this review to be posted but he is not worth even 1 star.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bearcat on several projects, and have reccommended him many times. I have always been pleased with their results, and Barry is easy to work with.

We called Bearcat when we decided to extend our bedroom. Barry and his team were awesome. They worked hard in the summer heat, finished our project on schedule, and kept a very clean work site. Barry is extremely professional, knowledgeable and meticulous. He was patient and worked with us when it came to our budget. We highly recommend Bearcat Development and will use them again for future projects!

Barry helped us add 2 rooms and also renewed all the interior. Barry is very professional, easy to work with, and delivers what he says he will. He came out to the job site many many times to discuss the plan and answered all my questions before the project actually started. Barry is very knowledgable, and the whole remodeling process went smoothly. His bid may not be the lowest but it’s worth it to hire someone who you can trust. I would definitely recommend him.

We had Barry remodel our cabana club office last year, and I am thrilled with the results. Barry was always on time, he cleaned up each day, and he finished the job on schedule and budget. He had some suggestions on ways to improve on what we originally asked for, and I was glad for his expert opinion — it made the outcome even better. I highly recommend Barry and would be happy to show off his work.

I had a master bath, master bedroom and mud room added to my home. it came out beautiful and i have recieved lots of compliments. Barry, was willing to work with me to make minor adjustments to the plan as it started to come together. Unlike other contractors who subcontract everything I see Barry working on the house himself. Looking forward to getting my kitchen and guest bathroom re-​done soon.
